Holiday rentals with a kayak in Cumbria

We received a very warm welcome from Jo and Ian. It was very clean accommodation and a comfortable bed. We were there for one night and it was perfect for us. The breakfast was excellent with home baked bread, jams, juice, fruit, really amazing! We would come back anytime.

We loved our stay at Easter How, it was perfect for our family get together. The gardens are gorgeous and our daughter's dog enjoyed exploring all the different paths. My dad enjoyed feeding the birds so thank you for providing the food for that too! It really was a home from home, so comfortable with great facilities and in such a tranquil setting. We enjoyed walking to High Dam Tarn a couple of times too, the second time we took the easier route through the field as my parents found the steep climb tough going the first time. Justin (co-host) kept us updated and we had the added bonus of meeting him when he dropped off some coffee beans! We had a lovely stay in the Servants Wing. Everything was clean and cosy and furnished to a very high standard. Sam responded within minutes to questions. The view over the Lune Valley is outstanding !!

We loved our stay at Signal House. House is absolutely beautiful. It’s in such a lovely location with fantastic views along the coastline. Easy to walk into Amble or along coastal path in both directions. House amazing, spotlessly clean. We hope to come back some time. Thankyou Tracey for a great stay x

Flora's house was the ideal place for a group of 12 to celebrate my mother's birthday. The setting is stunning and the house itself was grand, yet homely and comfortable. We were warmly welcomed by Maggie who immediately made us feel at home and was available to answer any questions throughout our stay. We were lucky with the sunny weather, and there was no shortage of activities to keep everyone (from age 7 to 80-something plus a dog) occupied and happy, with the boats and river swimming, tennis court, table tennis, billiards, chess and other games. The kitchen was well kitted out and the beds were supremely comfortable. The only thing we didn't like was having to leave!

We had a wonderful stay at 59 Kirkgate in Dumfries. Ben and Vicky’s communication was excellent—friendly, helpful, and responsive. Their flexibility around our arrival and departure was much appreciated. The cottage is beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable, with standout beds that made for restful nights after active days outdoors. It’s a perfect base for exploring Dumfries and Galloway, from coastlines to hills. We especially enjoyed the Multiverse, which Ben and Vicky kindly recommended. The cottage has everything for a relaxing break—well-equipped kitchen, thoughtful touches like a gin trolley and milk frother, and a cosy log fire. The central heating kept things toasty too. Our dog was also warmly welcomed, with bowls and a pet-friendly vibe throughout. All in all, 59 Kirkgate is a true home away from home. We’d return in a heartbeat!

Sunny bank mill is a lovely, spacious house which gave us a wonderful place to get the whole family of 7 adults and 6 children together for Christmas. It’s a beautiful location too although we had very low cloud but good walks to the lake and onto Torver Common. The house is really well equipped for a big group, the two tv lounges are a big bonus with children and Daphne was helpful and responsive to all my questions. This made for a very special Christmas for us.

We had a wonderful stay, the location is fantastic, just a short walk down to the lake to swim and kayak. The views are stunning and the cafe serves fabulous food. All the staff were really friendly and helpful, would highly recommend for a get away from it all holiday.

My kids love the Swallows and Amazons books so to be able to stay here was truly like being in a storybook. The accommodation itself was a great balance between keeping the old world charm but with a modern touch. We came in winter and it was great, we hope to be back one year in summer.

A hidden gem,spacious throughout, kitchen great size and very well equipped.Separate laundry and games room available, great for after dinner entertainment ! Idyllic location, beautiful garden, short stroll to lake shore with canoes for hire from owner, we had fabulous time canoeing. Walking,biking,boating on the doorstep we didnt use the cars the whole weekend. We highly recommend this property you won't be disappointed !!!

Booking the boat with Rob was straightforward, and his clear, brilliant demonstration made it easy for us to operate the boat independently. A gorgeous bolt hole for three weeks of blissful walks and peace. The private access to the lake was great for us as swimmers; easy to get home and warm up! I really liked the laundry room after our walks - could was and dry clothes really easily. Comfortable bed, kitchen perfect for self catering and relaxing sofa and tv and bath at the end of the day.

This is a wonderful little spot out in the Forest of Bowland. It's nicely set out of the way and the directions are easy to follow to get to it. The cottage is nicely furnished and has all the amenities that you will need. We had a great time staying here and will definitely look to staying again if we are in the area.

We had a lovely stay at Millers Cottage, which was our base for a wedding over the long weekend. There was everything we needed for the children - cot, high chair, stair gate - which made travelling much easier for us, and the outside space and play equipment was great. The cottage itself was comfortable and spacious, perfect for our family of 6. The cottages are in a beautiful location, with incredible views and yet so accessible from the A1. We would definitely book again!

We loved our stay it was really magical, to celebrate our 5th anniversary in that peaceful place. Loved the view and everything around it. We will definitely come back 💖

Lovely lodge, beautiful surroundings. Our children (age 4 and 7) really enjoyed the hot tub. Going out on the boat was beautiful - request buoyancy vests in advance. House clean and comfortable. Well equipped for cooking.

Booked this Lodge for my Husbands 40th as a surprise. Mark and Trish assisted with organising some birthday decorations which was really appreciated by all. The Lodge was beautiful felt like home from home with a well equipped kitchen to clean bedding. The lodge was well stocked and the fact that board games, toys for kids were also available were a nice touch. The kids loved it, especially being able to feed to ducks. Overall we all thoroughly enjoyed our time and we will be definitely be returning.

Absolute amazing, my mum and dad had the best time for their wedding anniversary! Thank you again for making it so special for them.

Great location - a short walk from the lake which was brilliant as we had a boat on the jetty. Good facilities with hot tub and decking area - main bedroom is lovely and spacious. Great layout for the caravan and decking area. Great parking facilities and in a lovely quite spot so that kids can ride their bikes around the area.

Absolutely loved our stay here. Pictures do not do this place justice, easily one of the nicest if not the nicest AirBnb I’ve ever stayed in. Great amenities for 4 adults and a big big hot tub! It was so peaceful being able to look out of the windows / decking and watch the wildlife too. Can’t wait to revisit, thankyou!

an incredible few nights away at The Tranquil Otter for my partners birthday. From booking to checking out, we were left fully satisfied. clean, accessible and in a lovely location with access to a private row boat to explore the lake.
