Holiday rentals with a kayak in Kitty Hawk

Absolutely fantastic stay! This home exceeded every expectation — it’s one of the best Airbnb experiences we’ve ever had. The amenities were top-notch, from fast Wi-Fi to thoughtful touches throughout the house. The kitchen deserves special praise: impeccably organized, incredibly well stocked, and clearly labeled — it made cooking an absolute pleasure. Every tool or utensil we could have needed was right at our fingertips. The entire home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and supremely comfortable. The beds were dreamy, with high-quality linens and cozy touches that made it hard to leave in the morning. The location was perfect — an easy, pleasant walk to the beach, great restaurants, and tons of fun local attractions. It felt like everything was just minutes away, yet the home remained quiet and peaceful. The host clearly put a lot of love into this property, and it shows. We would return in a heartbeat and recommend it without reservation. Truly exceptional!

We absolutely loved our time! The location is beautiful and peaceful. The house itself was extremely comfortable and had a great kitchen! We loved being able to walk to the dock in the mornings and evenings. It was easy to get just about anywhere in OBX. The furniture was all very comfortable as well. Shannon was extremely prompt to respond when we had any question!

Sound Waves is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. The lot was incredible, beautiful trees and inlet views. (Deer passed through) The house was extremely well kept and comfortable. Loved cooking in the well stocked kitchen, the spices and cast iron Dutch oven were a pleasant surprise. You won't be disappointed with Sound Waves. Very responsive host and all the amenities for a relaxing vacation.

The house was exactly what I wanted for my vacation! The water was easily accessible, the kayak on the property was wonderful for the kids and sunsets were amazing! Everything was clean and welcoming.

The Bruce’s Retreat was the perfect location and the absolute best sunsets in the OBX! There were kayaks available, a cooler and beach chairs that made us feel right at home. The home was comfortable and close to all the restaurants and shopping. You can fish right off of their dock, but if you want to get into the bigger fish, it’s just a short drive away. It worked out perfect for me, as the fish I caught at the home dock, I used to catch my biggest Red Drum (34”) on the surf! Karin was a great host, and was a quick responder when we reached out. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay again when we visit.

Great house for the beach and very friendly hosts as well. This was a perfect spot for our family of four and we had a great time. Very convenient location to all of the activities in the area and the beach a short drive away. House was very clean and well maintained. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a stay in the Outer Banks.

This house was a real pleasure for our family of 5. The house layout was perfect for us. It was spotless and every room was well appointed and felt uncluttered. The beds were great and the showers had good pressure. All the conveniences we’d want for our OBX trip in August were found here, including a short walk to multiple sound access points and a multipurpose trail for jogging and bike riding. Jeff was quick to respond to our questions and was very welcoming. We’ll gladly stay here again in the future.

We had a great time as our first time in the Outer Banks. The house and community was great as well as the customer service Richard provided. Great stay!

I had the pleasure of staying at Amy's place for a long weekend. Both her home and her spirit of customer service were exceptional. Shortly after making the reservation I had an issue with it (my fault). I reached out to Amy and she quickly helped me work it out in everyone's favor. Thank you Amy! Her home is very well situated, and the view from her backyard is incredible; it could be a special events location. Just incredible. But we were also able to get out and check out the many restaurants and beaches in the area. Amy reached out to us to check in several times, and proactively contacted us with restaurant recommendations, one of which we went to and had a great time. Would definitely head back.

Amazing time at Joseph's place. We loved that it kept with the originality of the first homes built in the area (A-frames) and paid homage to the history with the pirate theme! Very well decorated, super comfortable furniture, and all the amenities needed! Everything looked quite new. We loved the extra downstairs fridge for bait or anything else that might be needed to be stored. The kayak was a blast! The neighbors were wonderful and so very friendly. Loved their personal recommendations for local spots or things to add to the bucket list. The pool was a great addition as well and got plenty of use after a morning of battling waves at the beach! We also loved the folder with extra info, places to stop, and any emergency number needed. We loved the Friday check-ins, and being able to bring our dog was a huge plus. The house exceeded all expectations and the view was positively beautiful! The treasure hunt was a fantastic extra touch!! Would definitely stay again!!

Very secluded and peaceful. Wish the weather had been better throughout our stay but it was very nice to wake up to the sound of the waves and nature. I will say if you have a toddler to make sure to take a safety gate. He made it a challenge wanting to climb the stairs so we went out to buy some for our stay. WiFi is spotty (which is a good thing) but I didn’t realize none of my messages were sent until this morning. My husband and son enjoyed some fishing and caught a few stingrays. I would love to go back later in the year.

The house was perfect for our needs and our dog felt right at home. The beach wasn’t very far away and the location of the home felt like it was in the middle of everything. Randy was a great host and only a message away.

I cannot say enough about this property, it has it all! Walkable beaches, clean home, private cul-du-sac neighborhood, comfy and cozy feel inside the house, amazing amenities included! We had a great vacation filled with many core memories for myself and my family. Chris was very attentive and any questions we had that were not answered in the guidebook he provided were handled by him personally. 10/10 experience from start to finish!

We had such an amazing time here! She was quick to respond and the place was beautiful! The backyard was perfect for our toddler to play in and I really appreciated that there was a baby gate for upstairs. We will definitely be coming back!

Tanya's place was in a beautiful, quiet setting. We really enjoyed viewing the wildlife and kayaking. The house itself is spotless, comfy and plenty spacious. Her place had everything you could possibly need from pantry staples, beach towels, sunscreen, dental floss, etc. We were quite impressed with her thoughtfulness and attention to detail. By far the best Airbnb we've stayed at. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Loved this place ♥️

This house was very nice. The neighborhood is beautiful and it was centrally located to all the things we wanted to see in OBX. We liked having comfy beds for everyone and covered parking. Goldie was very communicative. It would be nice to have shampoo and body wash in the bathrooms (no one else in my family brought any 😂) and access to beach chairs and sand toys would be a helpful addition since it’s so close to the shore.
