Beach house holiday rentals in Kitty Hawk

Our stay at Eric's exceeded expectations. Truly a beautiful house, spotlessly clean, well appointed. Eric was a great communicator from the time I made my reservation to the time I left the house, quickly answering all questions, giving recommendations and dealing with a small problem we had promptly. I would say that this house is one of the rare places on Airb&b that looks *better* than the pictures. Thank you so much!

We had a great three night stay, my three adult children and I. The beach was surprisingly almost ours to ourselves. For an older traditional OBX house, it was well updated and very well appointed. The central floor plan is very open. I love it when you can be in the kitchen cooking while talking to everybody in the living area and those around the dinner table at the same time. Awesome view of the ocean off the back deck. We sat in the hot tub and still see the ocean. Im sometimes leary of hot tubs at the beach, a lot of times they are not well maintained. Danielle's was spotless and the water chemistry was perfect and safe. There was absolutely nothing we needed or any place where we needed to go that was not within a 5-minute drive. All of my family are fisherman. if you like to fish, there's not a better place to stay. getting from the house to the beach to surf fish takes less than a minute. we walked up to the OBX Pier several times to fish, probably less than a 5 minute walk.

Great place to stay. Close to the beach and restaurants. We had a couple of rainy days but the games in the house kept us busy. We look forward to returning in the future.

Great location and home for our friends with family trip! The pool and backyard was the perfect hangout and the beach was a quick walk away. Very comfortable for 3 families all with kids! Grateful our fur babies could join as well! Travis was very communicative and helpful. Highly recommend this spot!

We had a wonderful stay… the OBX is now our favorite vacations spot! Sounds Groovy was Awesome with wonderful and responsive hosts.

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at The Salty Shoebox, they had upgraded the sofas, put in new flooring, and a new granite countertop in the kitchen. Travis was very good, as we had a couple requests while we were there, the requests were taken care of promptly. The location was great, right on the beach.

Excellent place to stat at OBX! Everything was as described. Excellent location close to plenty of things to do. Excellent hosts all around!

This place is a GEM! I highly recommend staying there. So close to the beach. Lots of fun stuff to do in Duck. The house is very, very nice with lots of space to hang out.

We loved that we were able to walk to the beach and to the bay. Also loved the beach parking pass to give us the option to drive to the beach. We used the beach chairs, boogie boards and bicycles and all of them were fantastic! Very comfortable house, felt right at home there. Perfect house for a family to use. Also very helpful that Target, Publix and tons of restaurants were very close.

We loved our stay at Maureen’s cottage. We enjoyed watching the golfers play and swimming in the private pool. The house has a great game room which we used every day. The house is close to everything! The beach, restaurants and shopping are all within minutes of the house. We had a wonderful time!

Overall, this was a great vacation spot. Hosts were great! House was great! We had a small inconvenience with three people coming the first day to service different parts of the house, but once addressed the host’s accommodated our requests well. Location is nice!

This house was perfect for our family. Loved how dog and kid friendly everything is! Took advantage of the beautiful pool and hot tub. Our dog loved the dog park! Such a fun perk. The house was extremely clean and comfortable. In a cute and quiet neighborhood with a park within walking distance. So close to Duck and all there is to do there. We had an amazing time! We will be back!

My family had an amazing stay at the Hale Honu! We were impressed with all of the amenities that were offered, and especially the proximity of the property to the beach! We also very much appreciated the beach gear available for use. Soupar and his team were very responsive and kind. Looking forward to booking again for our next visit to OBX!

Great place. For its size and value, it literally has a ton of great features . The theatre room is amazing, especially with having kids. Has a beach volleyball court! The arcade has thousands of games and brought me back 25 years (Pac-Man, Mario, Galaga, Street Fighter, and 1,000’s more). We went when it typically would not be considered swimming weather, however, we had the option to have the pool heated at least a day or so before arriving and it made a huge difference and allowed for my girls and I to swim in early April (and I did jump in the ocean to compare and it was a 25-30 degree difference! Lol). The owner is very quick to respond, has the instructions available prior to arrival, recommendations for food, churches, , and activities. If you don’t mind a 3-5 minute stroll to the beach, it is honestly not that far away. Walmart, Target, Grocery stores, putt putt, dunes, Wings, fishing pier, are very close by. The aquarium was a 20 min drive but was worth it. Fun experience.

Meredith’s place was absolutely perfect. The beach was within close walking distance, private, and the waters there were calmer than other parts of OBX I’ve been to which was perfect for my toddler to play in. The Airbnb was super clean and had many amenities. The beds were very comfy, and I could tell she put in extra thought to make sure the Airbnb would be a peaceful getaway. We hope to be back soon!

We had a lovely stay for a last-minute Memorial Day weekend at the OBX in this rental. The hosts were communicative, helpful, friendly and provided so many nice extra touches for their guests. The home was wonderfully decorated, steps from the pool and the beach, and had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. Would recommend staying at this rental to anyone looking for a lovely home with ample indoor and outdoor space that is close to so many of the OBX's best restaurants and activities!

Loved this home—perfect location, gorgeous path to take the bikes for a ride, 5 min walk to beach!

We all felt very at home, the house is gorgeous and the beach is right there. We each had our own room and bathroom. Carrie was always quick to respond to our questions. We definitely want to go back there if possible next year and use her house again. None of us wanted to leave. We even saw dolphins from her deck, it was amazing. Thank you Carrie for everything!!!

We had a great stay! Very nice house. House and contents were as described. Beautiful quiet place. Ashley and Courtney responded quickly if we had questions. Will definitely stay again if available when we come back. Susan

Perfect place for family time! My family plus dog enjoyed our stay very much. The house looks just like the pictures provided, we enjoyed morning breakfast on the back screened in porch and fun filled afternoons kayaking and laying out on the back dock. The house was clean and very well maintained. We enjoyed our stayed so much we will definitely be back.

My family stayed 8 nights. Regardless of the time of day or night, the views were breathtaking and so special. The sky and the cloud formations were spectacular. The house layout was thoughtfully done. The tote with extra toilet paper, papertowel, Kleenex, laundry detergent, and garbage bags were a godsend. They provided everything you needed extra beach chairs, 2 large beach umbrellas, boogie boards, a beach cooler etc. The selection of books were a true reader's paradise. The house is located very conveniently to stores, restaurants and the beach! You can run into the house and come back in just a few steps! This house has to be the best house we have stayed in OBX for over 10 years.

From start to finish we had an amazing experience! Upon booking the reservation, Gia was friendly and communicative. The house was beautiful, spacious and met all of our needs. The location was great for heading to all of the surrounding towns(north and south). Gia provided us with numerous recommendations for things to do and places to visit. A must is experiencing the wild horses in Corolla. We especially enjoyed visiting the Chili Pepper restaurant that Gia recommended and met some wonderful people (ask for Rose or Tucker). When visiting the Outer Banks, you could not ask for a more wonderful experience than staying at the DownWinder and having Gia as your host!

This cottage is true to its name! It is literally a 2 minute walk to the beach and you couldn’t ask for anything better than that, but wait till you visit a beach walk cottage. This cottage was beyond amazing, exceeding my expectations, it’s probably the best Airbnb i have ever stayed at which made our trip so enjoyable, we didn’t want to leave. The decor, the cleanliness, amenities, game room, laundry room, porch area and picnic table, EVERYYTHING etc felt like a beautiful dream. The beds were very comfortable, (and Im a light sleeper) and the bathrooms were so elegant! It Felt like i was in a Pinterest board. I also liked how close it was to local good eats and attractions. The neighborhood was also safe and quiet. I would highly recommended this house and I can’t wait to bring back my nephew! He loved the bunk beds and the game room! The hosts were very responsive whenever i had questions.

We greatly enjoyed our stay and the views from the decks. The house is private and has plenty of space for two couples. It was the perfect location for our stay in Kitty Hawk!
