Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Appalachian Mountains

My stay at Lauren's farm was just what I needed...a peaceful place to get away to as I prepare for a job change. The farm is beautiful. The trails throughout the property were great for an afternoon run. And the close proximity to downtown Waxhaw allowed for great dining options. I'll definitely be back!

Our stay was so relaxing. The house is very comfortable and we felt at home right away. Kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. The sauna is absolutely magical and the lake was quiet and peaceful. Check in/out was a breeze. Perfect spot for a relaxing long weekend with zero stress.

We had a lovely stay - the place is so cute, clean, and has everything. I truly felt like I was going into a spa, it smelled clean and fresh plus had fun amenities. Would love to go back!

Lookout Mountain Birdhouse is a new property, so everything is shiny and clean. While just off the road, it's very private. It's ~30 minutes to Chattanooga proper, but that worked OK for us. Lacy is a true gem of a host and great to work with. She promptly answered any questions we had and stayed in touch. The good and the bad: the tall, west-facing windows make for a bright house and a beautiful view, but the windows in the living area have no shades, which can render that area almost unusable in the late afternoon on a clear day. That said, we would definitely stay there again. We particularly enjoyed the Sunset Rock via Craven's House Trail, and the Montague Sculpture Garden in Chattanooga. The tour of Chattanooga Whiskey Experimental Distillery was fun, too.

We had a great time during our stay! The indoor pool was the real highlight—clean, well-maintained, and the surround sound music made it extra fun. The entire property was spotless and clearly well cared for. We even enjoyed S’mores at the outdoor fire pit. Chantale and Toni were incredibly accommodating and ensured we had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. Highly recommend for a peaceful and enjoyable getaway!

We had a great stay at Frank & Zoltan’s! So many thoughtful touches & we really enjoyed the pool and location. Very walkable to the falls, Clifton hill, etc. It was a very nice stay & we loved having what was a calm and serene getaway from the hustle and bustle of Niagara Falls. The bottle of wine was a nice touch! We appreciated their hospitality. Great hosts, would recommend

Amazing experience! My first stay at the Treehouse and definitely won’t be my last! From the calming hilltop view surrounded by nature to the wildlife outside the window. Short, easy drive to Main Street. Serenity is what I was seeking when booking this and serenity is what I found. Amazing pool. Cozy bed. CLEAN everything. Saving best for last ~ the hostess. She is one of the most incredible humans I have met! The Treehouse, your hostess, the town ~ you will not be disappointed!

The host was very responsive and the place was great all around. Views are amazing, parking is out front of the unit. This spot is one of the best for the price and worked well for three people for two nights. I will definitely stay here again when I am back in town.

Loved staying here! The place was super clean and the views of downtown were amazing. It’s in a great spot — I could walk to pretty much everything I needed. Jason and Crystal were great hosts. Their place was beautiful and we fell in love. Easy beach access nearby. We rented a car just to visit other places that were not walkable, which was beneficial. They provided beach towels, chairs and umbrella which we had the pleasure to use everyday. Their place is very cozy, makes you feel right at home. Everything was smooth with check in and they were great resources for the surrounding area and were able to give recommendations on restaurants, beaches, bars and nearby shops. Can’t wait to visit again, will definitely look for their listing. Also, for those visiting, don’t get discouraged by the weather. It stated rain all week for our trip and we seen small amount of rain. Made it to the beach 3 out of 4 days! Thanks for the great accommodations. Jen and Frank.

We had a great stay at Julia’s apartment. The description ‘cosy’ might make you think it’s small but it’s bright, spacious and airy. We were in Buffalo for our son’s graduation from D’Youville University. The location was excellent and it was great to have a space to park the car. The restaurants and coffee shops of Elmood were an easy walk away. The bed was very comfortable and all the linen and towels were of high quality. Julia was very helpful when we had luggage issues and responded very quickly to any messages.

We had such a great stay! The hosts were super accommodating and really attentive to anything we needed. The place was spotless, cozy, and fully stocked with all the essentials (and then some). They went out of their way to make us feel at home, and it honestly made the whole experience so relaxing and enjoyable. Dan & Jill’s home was beyond beautiful and comfy. It was very easy to find, private and felt safe. The inside of the home was more spacious than expected and extremely clean. The panoramic views from all windows was truly a treat. The hosts were very thoughtful and sweet. If you forgot to pack something, they most likely had it. Check in was smooth, stores/supermarket was a 3 min drive. 0 complaints and cannot wait to stay again!

Lovely place,just as described. River running out back,very peaceful and picturesque. Basia and Bradley communicated very well . They checked in at various times to make sure we had what we needed. Comfortable beds and very clean invironment. Thank you again for having us.

the loft was beautiful! it seemed like we were the very first guests there. it was so clean! we enjoyed walking to the Record store in Columbus and the restaurants in German Village are amazing. would defiantly like to stay there again

We just returned from an amazing vacation for our 18th Anniversary. It was our first time to Topsail, so we didn't know about no beach access at high tide, so that was our fault. We walked down quite a bit to be able get more beach time. It was nice at high tide to sit on the balcony though. So peaceful and the break we needed. Condo was nice and just as pictured. Lori’s place was amazing! The location was perfect, peaceful, yet centrally located near tons of things to do. Whether you want to explore or just head back to relax, it’s the ideal spot. I highly recommend taking your coffee out onto the balcony to enjoy the beautiful view, it was one of my favorite parts of the stay. Lori was incredibly responsive and checked in often to make sure I had everything I needed. I would 100% stay here again in a heartbeat!

Beautifully updated condo with great views. Host was very responsive. The unit was nice an clean and fully stocked with everything you needed including a very nice coffee maker! The master bedroom does get a little hotter than the rest of the unit but the view with floor to ceiling windows is worth making the rest of the unit a little chilly to compensate. I would definitely recommend this place!

In a moment of reflection it’s difficult to bestow an across-the-board Five Stars rating on the property without acknowledging the contributions of the host Sean. The first-class amenities of this property are already well documented and are unmatched – location, cleanliness, roominess and value. Sean’s enthusiastic representation of his property is contagious. His efforts to prepare us for our stay left us wanting nothing. As our booking drew closer we found ourselves using words like “excited” … we became increasingly aware of the slow passing of time ;) Sean’s attentiveness continued during our stay. The effort he has made to brand this property is second-to-none. An homage to Detroit / Motown ... the keen-eyed among you will be delighted with the Easter eggs (hint: scrabble). Stay here. Walk, eat, cheer, dance, relax, slumber ... Repeat.

Bryan is super responsive and easy to communicate with. He notified us of detailed check in and check out instructions. He then checked in on us towards the end of the trip to make sure all of our expectations were met; to which they were. This condo is exactly as described in the listing and pictures. It’s clean and cozy. The view from the bedroom is unmatched. The location is perfect in a sense that it’s not too close to the boardwalk, making the area a little more quiet, but also within 10 mins to the best restaurants and bars. The staff at the condo and even other guests were friendly and courteous. If you’re afraid of heights, this might not be the best place to stay for you, but as I previously mentioned, the view from the master bedroom can’t be beat. That view alone, would have us stay again. I would definitely recommend this stay to others.

There aren't enough words proper enough to describe how spot on this amazing place is. It looks EXACTLY as the photos show. As soon as I walked in the door, I was met with a beautiful & relaxing relief. I literally let out an "Oh my gosh". I just knew, it was going to be enjoyable. It was quiet & so serene. The bed truly is so comfortable. I was also so impressed with the amount of kitchen supplies as well as the products that were offered in the bathroom & kitchen. They were not your typical "hotel brand" products. Plenty of nearby places within walking distance from food to shopping. I hope I was a good a guest for them because I want to return again. I am in love with it. Such an amazing getaway. Thank you ×100!
