Holiday rentals with a kayak in Appalachian Mountains

It’s feels like pressure to write a review that stands up to ALL the other incredible reviews. I suppose we should stop there because that says it all. But we will add this: Ellie and Tower either wrote the book on hospitality or they read it 100 times. There is no doubt you will get the sense that everything is done with an eye to making you happy and comfortable…. And they do that in Spades. If this place caught your eye… act now… it will capture your heart as well.

My recent stay at the lake house was nothing short of magical. Nestled among towering pines, the location offered breathtaking views of the shimmering water, perfect for morning coffee on the deck. The house was charmingly decorated, with cozy furnishings that made it feel like a home away from home. The kitchen was well-equipped, allowing for delightful family meals, and the outdoor fire pit was ideal for evening gatherings under the stars. I particularly enjoyed the tranquility of the surroundings, making it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. Overall, it was a refreshing retreat, and I can't wait to return!

We had an amazing stay! The location was amazing and the hot tub was perfect! Lots of fun activities to do in the area as well and Marissa gave so many great recommendations. My husband and I had a great time !

We came here for a private getaway on our honeymoon and it did not disappoint. The price was a bit much, but for such a special time I felt it was worth it at the time I booked, and worth it it certainly was. beautiful, quiet, serene, it was perfect for a getaway. I would absolutely recommend, and I already have, this stay. 10/10

We had a great time at the school house! I met Adam, and he was very friendly! Great spot, we had a blast! 100% would recommend!

we had a lovely time at Seth’s cottage by the river. Everything was very well appointed and comfortable. I think the beds were the best I’ve had an Airbnb. There was easy access to new Paltz and kingston. I have no hesitation in recommending Seth’s place.

Very nice home, tons of room and everything you need! Having main living space upstairs is beautiful but difficult if stairs are an issue and a 10:00 check out time is to early.

Everything is just as pictured - and so much more once you check in! The end of the season did not disappoint - the waters were calm in the morning for a canoe paddle; the loons visited and were a joy to listen to; the weather was perfect for a campfire and the views were spectacular. The house is stocked with high-end amenities, everything you'd want to find and a few that you didn't even know you needed! Looking forward to returning next summer!

Place was amazing! Beach is so nice and relaxing, we loved the sounds of the waves with the sunset. Great place for a family vacation or couples get away. There was horse riding near by, the place we went to was horseplay and it was great. The front room was great for relaxing after spending time by the water or doing other activities!! Kitchen was really nice, the little coffee maker was perfect in the morning for yummy quick coffee. Bed was super comfy in the main bedroom. We used the extra room for our luggage, worked out perfect.

We recently stayed in Sarah’s beautiful cottage by the lake in Hale,MI over Memorial Day weekend.Its a very easy drive from Ann Arbor.This destination worthy cottage is beyond beautiful with Rustic and modern farm house feels! Everything at the cottage is thoughtfully and meticulously planned and you can see the labor of love of the owners at the property. The place is warm and inviting like and we had a wonderful time in this little slice of heaven with gorgeous views. Hot Tub was a bonus since the Temp was still in 50’s.Sarah was very kind and responsive through out our stay. You couldn’t ask for better Hosts!

Amazing stay! Jude and her dogs and her husband are truly amazing people! We had a wonderful stay and would come back in a heartbeat!!! We spent our honeymoon here and it was magical- best place to honeymoon! Jude was the most amazing host!

David’s cabin was inviting, peaceful and a perfect getaway. We loved the sauna, hot tub and fire pit. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a beautiful escape into nature.

This place was amazing! It's so peaceful and beautiful. They had everything you could possibly need, including a tray of snacks and wine, and the blankets were so comfy! Everything was very clean, and the included kayak/paddle boat is a plus!

The place was so beautiful and clean and private despite owners being nearby and readily available. We arrived on my 60th birthday and there was on the table entering the cabin a Happy 60th Birthday welcome note on the chalk/dry erase board. Made me feel special! We had quite the rather funny experience with the hot tub. Let's say I felt like I was in Willy Wonka's Bubble Room!! I never laughed so hard 🫧🫧🤣😂. Jenny was quick to respond with a fix. We didn't use the paddle boards but fished from the shore and from the dock. Caught (and released plenty of bass (I got the biggest) and hubby got a huge catfish. Actually my hairdresser said they stayed here several years ago and she caught the large catfish too!! Anyway, we were so impressed on arrival that when I went online there was an extra night available before the next renter so we booked it with a couple hours after arrival!! Although it was rainy/stormy a couple times. Many amenities we didnt use, firepit/fireplace. I give👍👍!!

Incredible property, secluded and private. Stunning views of the lake and the sun sets are incredible from the dock. Kayaks included were awesome fun and the local area had everything you needed (+friendly people!) Cassidy was quick to respond to questions and clear with instructions prior to our arrival. Book this cabin!!

My husband and I had a fabulous time at Mallard Cottage!! It was exactly the retreat we needed from the stress of work. Andrew and Lindsey thought of everything and they were the most amazing hosts! There was so much to do at the cottage that we didn’t need to go anywhere else. We especially loved sitting in the sunroom and watching the water. We will definitely be back!!! Highly recommend this getaway!

Honestly, this place is exactly as it is listed. It’s so peaceful and scenic. You get to enjoy the nature if that’s what you are looking for. The owner is very responsive and kind. Great things to do around there as well, since there is 2 towns located right and left from the bnb. Also, the locals are so kind and easy to have a conversation with. So grateful to have experienced this Airbnb. Definitely will be coming back soon!

If I could give this 10 stars I would! Beautiful little Cabin with so much history inside. Full kitchen, Cozy living area, sleep number bed was very comfortable. The grounds are beautiful, so many flowers, plants, trees, just perfections and very quiet. Tammy and Jane greeted us as we checked in and showed us around. Tammy also made us breakfast every morning, fresh and homemade and even a to go basket on our last morning. The neighborhood is very peaceful. We were visiting for the derby and wished we had more time to enjoy this little peace of beauty!

Absolutely beautiful place and oh so peaceful. While there is a road right by the house, it doesnt really distract from the beautiful scenery and noise of the creek nearby. We took advantage of basically all the ammenities. We went in the canoe, relaxed in the hot tub, enjoyed the convenient fire place and grill, caught a fish or two in the lake and had a great time being so close to some beautiful trails! And oh so many naps on the comfortable porch bed swing. The stairs to the loft were not an issue for us or our dog either, but note that they are steep, so they could be an issue for smaller dogs or people with mobility issues. We would absolutely love to be back again in the future!

A truly magical experience to live in the trees. Igor’s place was a warm and cozy place actually nestled amongst the trees. Any view looked out into the trees and even on a rainy weekend, we enjoyed the sounds, the smells, and all the nature that surrounded us. We even got to use the wood stove which helped keep the chill outside. (Thank goodness all those skills came back to me from childhood) Thank you so much for hosting us and we highly recommend to all.

Beautiful hidden property tucked down off of road. The place has everything you need and is so quiet n peaceful. The hot tub was great to relax in and was nice to see deer morning n evening grazing.

Had a peaceful adventurous get away at Andrew’s Airbnb! Lots to do near the area like state parks, and Jim Thorpe! Everything looked as in the pictures for an ideal camping experience. Beautiful bathroom and personal shower!

This place was a homerun. Clean organized great location peaceful. Nice detail and accessories provided for a stay at a log cabin. Me and girlfriend already booked it again Excited to go back.

The perfect combination of relaxing and fun. My husband and I stayed for 3 nights and only left once, to bike ride on the Great Guernsey Trail. My favorite moments were morning coffee on the deck overlooking the lake then kayaking before the sun rose over the trees, daily trail walks on the property where we always saw deer, and night time fires. We brought food and cooked all our meals in the lovely kitchen/on the grill. Buddy the dog made friends with our pup and went on a trail walk with us and Rusty was kind, welcoming and responsive. We played pool, cards, read books - all the things we don’t usually make time to do, and still managed to watch the last season of Young Sheldon on Netflix! I highly recommend Rusty’s place.
