Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Appalachian Mountains

Parker’s place was so relaxing. The home matched the photos. It did not disappoint. The floor to ceiling windows were stunning and I felt like the greenery was my TV and it surrounded me. The kitchen was very nice, it was very well equipped. My partner had a blast with setting up the fire place, it was so warm and cozy. Parker was a fantastic host and was responsive and kind. Highly recommend if you want a getaway from the city that isn’t too far but really brings you to nature and in a nice and comfortable home. The sauna was a highlight, my partner used it a couple times a day.

Overall we very much enjoyed modern rural space. Kiss the Cow farm about 5min drive was amazing& we got most all main food there w/ additional items from Barnard General Store. Spices/ cookware were very good - we brought nonstick pans& 1 knife to supplement. Plenty bowls, measuring cups/spoons, maybe a set of tom collins glasses would be nice albeit stemless wine and rocks glasses available. Needs garlic/onion powder. Tub was amazing/ upstairs bathroom a true getaway/ relaxing space. It was as pictured albeit note spiral staircase &open grated flooring upstairs. Plenty of windows albeit not much cross breeze so think ahead if bring own fan and/or start A/C before get too warm. I would say you must have an SUV year round for this rental - surrounding roads/ driveway are a good distance on rough dirt/gravel - traversable yet a sportier car with low profile tires/ ground clearance would not work. We enjoyed simply walking driveway& East Barnard Rd. Barnard Inn restaurant worth it.

Nothing but great things to say! Our host was super nice and responded quickly when we needed to communicate! The cabin is on the side of a mountain so you get beautiful views! With that being said I wouldn’t recommend driving at night if not used to driving mountain roads and the description of the road is accurate it’s a one way with some pull off areas for traversing. You don’t have to have 4 wheel drive during non winter season but there are people with cars that live there but we wouldn’t have felt comfortable to do that. The stairs to go up to the master bedroom are steep as she said but they have a non slip grip tape on each step and there are gates at every level for children/pets. The hot tub was so nice and was already up and running when we arrived. There were towels, dishes, some condiments, and a decent amount of kitchen utensils and such. Downtown blue ridge and ellijay are both pet friendly places! Amicalola state park is beautiful with an easy hike to the waterfall.

No notes, incredible escape even in the pouring rain. The ambience, even down to the little things like walking through the door to classical music, was truly top notch.

Tom and Carol’s place is top-notch! It’s rare to find a getaway spot that’s both tucked away in a pristine natural setting and which contains all the modern amenities one could ask for. To top it off, Tom’s artwork and sculptures beautifully adorn the property, which makes the apartment and its location feel like there’s a little magic around every corner. Tom and Carol are fantastic hosts; we felt right at home upon arrival. The small towns nearby also had some great restaurants with a welcoming vibe and friendly folks to boot!

Such a beautiful retreat - close to downtown Berkeley Springs but just far enough away to feel completely secluded. the view from every room and balcony was gorgeous. The house has nearly everything you need right there - we especially appreciated the kitchen having seasonings & all of the pots/pans/dishes you need to cook. Our goal was having a few days to rest and spend time with each other, and that's exactly what we were able to do. The game room was a real treat, and the bowl of conversation starters in the living room was such a fun way to hang out without just having the TV on.

What an excellent stay - this airbnb was incredibly well stocked with kitchen supplies, games, extra linens, really anything that one could want. Amenities were high quality and very thoughtful.

we had a lovely time at Seth’s cottage by the river. Everything was very well appointed and comfortable. I think the beds were the best I’ve had an Airbnb. There was easy access to new Paltz and kingston. I have no hesitation in recommending Seth’s place.

The Nature Spa was great. The pool, hot tub and game room were huge hits with grandsons. The movie theater pit the icing on the cake. The master suit is awesome. Was very easy to find and has beautiful view of pond while sitting the deck while having coffee. Thank you again.

The Hideout was such an amazing place to stay and the A Frame was exactly what we were hoping for. It had everything we needed and Samantha was very communicative the whole time. A perfect weekend with the toddler and the dog!

Lynn's place was excellent! Everything was perfect, really. We felt so comfortable and well cared for from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. All of the amenities are A+. The furniture is luxurious and tasteful. We would return without hesitation if we ever find ourselves out that way again. Heather

We enjoyed our stay at Edwin's house. It was well appointed and clean. Edwin was very responsive to any questions we had. The hot tub and fire pit were a hit with our family. Thanks for being a great host!

We recently stayed at Tina's and had a great time. The location is secluded, incredibly peaceful and quiet — all you can hear are the birds in the morning. The home itself is clean and looks just like the photos. We also loved that we could bring our dog along with us. We live in the city so our pup doesn't get to touch much grass, and he had a blast running through the fenced-in yard. Although we originally booked because the house has a pool and we were hoping for good weather, it rained almost the entire time we were there... Nonetheless, it felt like the coziest home for a rainy weekend, and we really enjoyed our stay. We loved sitting inside by the fire to watch a movie, cooking in the kitchen and building a fire outside when the rain stopped. The location was also great for driving into Rhinebeck, Red Hook, Hudson and surrounding breweries and wineries.

This was a fantastic stay. The house is in a great location a beautiful view in the backyard and a great pool aswell as hot tub. The host were very kind and accommodating and I recommend anyone in the area the check them out 10/10 experience!

Loved our stay here!! The place was exactly as described and the hosts were super friendly and responsive. We loved the little farmstead tour and the loft itself was very enjoyable. The projector was a great bonus and we ended up watching a few movies on it. Only thing we didn’t like too much was that there were no blinds or curtains on the big windows behind the plants - it wasn’t a deal breaker but I would’ve preferred having something there for a sense of privacy. Overall, would definitely visit again as the experience was so unique and fun!

Is was nice place i recommend it for everyone who wants to have peace of mind, privacy and having fun, everything is good from the check in til the checkout.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it was perfect! The views were incredible, so peaceful and serene. The sunsets were breathtaking! My mom grew up on a farm so we loved the goats, chickens and roosters next door, reminded me of my grandparents place! We had some questions early on and Travis got right back to us immediately when I messaged him! We went to Rock City Gardens, Foster Falls, Fiery Gizzard trail, Fall Creek Falls and Greeter Falls. Such a blessed time!

Magical place on the rapids. If you're looking for a place to disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with yourself and nature - this is the place. Close to everything you need, you can get your morning coffee at tim hortons, mcdonalds, or a local shop 5-10 min away. I will say I am one of those people who refuses to use out- houses; I will opt for a bush instead lol. The out-house they have is cleaner than most bathrooms, and does not smell. This off grid place is impressive and feels like an enchanted forest..we can't wait to come back in the winter to experience the winter forest. Thanks again Melissa for hosting us!!

I’d advise against driving a sedan or a small vehicle, but the drive up to the home isn’t bad at all. It’s just a little bit of a clincher. Best views I’ve ever had at a mountain cabin. Late cotober here would be a religious experience. The sun sets directly over the mountain in full view of the back porch. Incredible sight.

This was such a lovely experience - I took my boyfriend here for a peaceful get away and he kept remarking "wow they thought of everything." if you are looking for a nature-immersive, cozy get away this is for you! great amenities (the sauna!!!) and bath products! not to mention the bed was very comfortable.

This was the perfect prelude to our wedding week and a great place to stay for the All Star Race. Host was responsive and the cabin matched all the photos. Great experience.

We absolutely loved our stay at Reel Retreat. The cabin was perfect and everything was so well thought out and organized. Bonus points for the awesome symphony of sounds from the lake at night. We hope to return soon for a longer stay!
