Beachfront holiday rentals in Appalachian Mountains

We recently stayed in Sarah’s beautiful cottage by the lake in Hale,MI over Memorial Day weekend.Its a very easy drive from Ann Arbor.This destination worthy cottage is beyond beautiful with Rustic and modern farm house feels! Everything at the cottage is thoughtfully and meticulously planned and you can see the labor of love of the owners at the property. The place is warm and inviting like and we had a wonderful time in this little slice of heaven with gorgeous views. Hot Tub was a bonus since the Temp was still in 50’s.Sarah was very kind and responsive through out our stay. You couldn’t ask for better Hosts!

This was our first time at the Keuka Lake Beach house cottage. It is exactly as described in listing. Rob greeted us upon our arrival , gave us a quick tour of the cottage and let us know he was just a text away if we needed anything or had any questions. The cottage setting was so relaxing… our favorite part of our vacation was just sitting on the dock and porch deck reading, drawing, and just listening to the gentle lake water sounds. The setting and aura of the cottage on the lake made it a little hard to leave to explore and enjoy the area! We did manage to leave and check out the area’s towns, trails and small stores. We also enjoyed walks along the road right outside of the cottage which has minimal traffic . There is also a wooded trail right across the street from the cottage . Our Golden Retriever also had a great time relaxing and swimming. He made a new friend in Rob’s Labrador, QB(?) We would definitely return to this cottage and highly recommend it.

Our 3rd stay on the property - first time in the A-frame. It was a wonderful 3 days! The cabin is cozy, comfortable, has everything you need and is right on the St Regis river. The whole property is beautiful and has lovely, walkable trails. Thank you Sandy for maintaining this very special place, providing the perfect cabin setting and sharing it with us. We will be back in 2026!

A great place to stay - cozy log cabin packed with everything you need and above! Clean, warm, homelike house - ideal for a family stay. Christine is nice and friendly! Petroglyph park right across the street, waterfall, beach, and many other cool places to visit. Tamed chipmunks is a bonus :)

Great stay, would definitely stay there again. Convenient location a short walk to the beach access. Two bedrooms with private baths downstairs and 4 twins with half bath upstairs. Deck with hot tub and beautiful views. I would recommend.

The knotty pine was an incredible experience!! The cottage was so cozy and beautiful with lots to do. Lots of books, records to listen to, corn hole and so much more. Katherine was a fantastic host, she was very responsive and replied quickly which made my stay even more comfortable. The house was extremely clean and welcoming! The view was breathtaking as well, the water was a little rough so we couldn’t use the kayaks but I’m sure it would have been great. 10/10 would stay again!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing Private Island Stay! We had an unforgettable stay on this beautiful private island in Swansboro. It was just my husband and I with our two dachshunds, and the entire island to ourselves—so dreamy! The home was cozy and well-equipped with everything we needed, plus the linens smelled ahh-mazing! We loved watching the boats go by, kayaking around the island, observing the wildlife and exploring nearby spots like Shark Tooth Island, where we found shells and actual shark teeth! The sunrises and sunsets were stunning, and the ocean breezes made it feel like a peaceful nature retreat, not to mention the hot shower which was pure luxury! Plenty of great spaces to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Close to nearby marinas and other islands, too. Highly recommend—we’d come back in a heartbeat!

We had an unforgettable stay at Oliver and Mary Anne’s beautiful cottage! The location is unbeatable—right by a private beach with stunning views that you never get tired of. Waking up to the sound of the water and sipping coffee with that view was pure bliss. There was so much to do! We spent our days kayaking and canoeing on the calm water, swimming off the private beach, and lounging in the sun. In the evenings, we’d gather around the fire pit for s’mores and stories under the stars, and then unwind in the hot tub—absolute perfection. The cottage itself is gorgeous, super clean, and fully equipped with everything we needed. You can tell Oliver and Mary Anne have put a lot of care into making this a true home away from home. Every little detail—from the cozy interiors to the outdoor setup—was just right. This place is a gem, whether you're looking for relaxation or adventure. We’re already talking about when we can come back. Highly recommend it to anyone!

Miles is a fantastic host! Not only was he proactive in communicating details regarding entry and amenities, he went above and beyond with little fresh baked goods, Smart Home instructions guide, and providing literally everything you'd need to feel at home (bathrobes, teas, serving dishes+several cups, even milk and cream in the fridge!) The Hot tub was great, the place was spotlessly clean, and the balcony views were a pleasure to enjoy. This is a great house with lovely sky lights in the kitchen and beautiful location right by the boardwalk! 11/10 ✨

We had a great vacation and highly recommend this condo! The rental was beautiful, very homey, updated and clean. The location can’t be beat. It was convenient getting to both the pool and the beach. It was only a couple of steps if you forgot something and had to run back. Even though the pool was shared, it was rarely crowded. The condo was well stocked, beyond your typical “enough to get started”. There were cleaning supplies, including dishwasher pods, trash bags, and laundry detergent. The kitchen was well stocked, had great appliances and all the basic cooking supplies like salt & pepper, cooking oil, coffee pods and coffee filters. The two decks were amazing. The view from the second story deck was incredible. I wish they had a table on one of the decks so we could eat meals outside while looking at the ocean, but we made do with the rocking chairs. The beds were a little stiff for our liking, but that’s personal preference. Otherwise it was amazing and we’ll be back!

We loved this Airbnb. It was beautiful there and Michael was quick to answer any questions. We did manage to get on the water with the kayaks, so that was great. We will definitely be back.

Bryan is super responsive and easy to communicate with. He notified us of detailed check in and check out instructions. He then checked in on us towards the end of the trip to make sure all of our expectations were met; to which they were. This condo is exactly as described in the listing and pictures. It’s clean and cozy. The view from the bedroom is unmatched. The location is perfect in a sense that it’s not too close to the boardwalk, making the area a little more quiet, but also within 10 mins to the best restaurants and bars. The staff at the condo and even other guests were friendly and courteous. If you’re afraid of heights, this might not be the best place to stay for you, but as I previously mentioned, the view from the master bedroom can’t be beat. That view alone, would have us stay again. I would definitely recommend this stay to others.

We had the most amazing weekend. All of Kimberly’s recommendations were right on the money, and we were so impressed by the cleanliness, comfort and beauty of the home! Watching the sunrise over the water every morning from the front porch was heavenly!

The cottage is so cute!!!. We loved it! Our dogs also had a great time. There was plenty of space to roam safely, and the beach was just a short walk away—ideal for long strolls!! Donna was wonderfully responsive and welcoming, and she thoughtfully stocked the cottage with everything we could possibly need. Great getaway for all!!!

We visited the Hyde-O-Way for a friend's birthday weekend, looking for a quiet getaway to spend time together as pals. We had a wonderful three nights at Kristina's place, which was quiet and private and surrounded by gorgeous scenery. We found the house cozy, clean, and well-appointed both inside and out. Kristina's instructions were super clear and easy to follow and we felt secure having her at hand for any questions that might have come up. We enjoyed ourselves so greatly that we intend on coming back again, potentially annually. If you're looking for a peaceful, beautiful little place to enjoy nature and make memories with friends, then you'd be hard-pressed to find a nicer location.

My kids and I had a fantastic time. Julie was nice and left very clear instructions for everything that was needed. Great location that put you right in between the ski resorts and the town of Conway, which has lovely shops and food options. Great spot if your an active traveler or if you just want to read in the peace of a beautiful river and hide. Thanks again!!

I don't know what I can say about The Meadow that hasn't already been said (and probably said better) 561 times (as of this writing). It's gorgeous. It looks exactly like the photos, but what the photos don't capture is the way the house feels. It's a little slice of heaven. Usually vacations for us are spent running around but this was different. It was quiet, peaceful and so relaxing. We spent a few days enjoying every aspect of the house both inside and out. Nicolas is super easy to deal with, and very accommodating. Everything you could possibly need has been thought of and planned for. From the motion sensor night lights to the magnifying mirror in the bathroom, the thought and care that went into the design of the house is clear. The bed is comfortable. The shower is glorious. The view is incredible. If you're a bird lover (and if you're not, what's wrong with you?) you'll be living the dream. 3 days were not enough for us, but it was enough to know we'll be back.

The views were stunning, the house was gorgeous, and the hosts are incredibly friendly. It is apparent how much they care about their guests and how much they care for their property. We felt welcomed from the beginning. The dogs were friendly and fun. The house had a wonderful attention to detail, with emphasis on the stunning paintings (most of which were painted by Marjorie herself). Very grateful for our time spent here. We loved it and we will definitely be back!

It is an absolutely beautiful spot! Dry firewood for the firepit on the beach and an amazing view in the hot tub with some drinks were my favourite experiences! Literally steps from the water and 2 kayaks to use as well had us out on the water for hours! Highly recommend!

Linda’s beach house is a real gem. The house is beautiful and clean. Has great views of the river and a large sand beach. I can’t wait to visit again
