Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Appalachian Mountains

Nothing but great things to say! Our host was super nice and responded quickly when we needed to communicate! The cabin is on the side of a mountain so you get beautiful views! With that being said I wouldn’t recommend driving at night if not used to driving mountain roads and the description of the road is accurate it’s a one way with some pull off areas for traversing. You don’t have to have 4 wheel drive during non winter season but there are people with cars that live there but we wouldn’t have felt comfortable to do that. The stairs to go up to the master bedroom are steep as she said but they have a non slip grip tape on each step and there are gates at every level for children/pets. The hot tub was so nice and was already up and running when we arrived. There were towels, dishes, some condiments, and a decent amount of kitchen utensils and such. Downtown blue ridge and ellijay are both pet friendly places! Amicalola state park is beautiful with an easy hike to the waterfall.

This beautiful house in the woods was even better than expected - incredibly private, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. We loved just relaxing to the sounds of the nearby creek and playing music on the vinyl player - such a special touch. Everything was spotless and thoughtfully prepared. It’s also not far from Minnewaska State Park, which made hiking super convenient. Couldn’t have asked for more. We’d love to come back!

Such a beautiful retreat - close to downtown Berkeley Springs but just far enough away to feel completely secluded. the view from every room and balcony was gorgeous. The house has nearly everything you need right there - we especially appreciated the kitchen having seasonings & all of the pots/pans/dishes you need to cook. Our goal was having a few days to rest and spend time with each other, and that's exactly what we were able to do. The game room was a real treat, and the bowl of conversation starters in the living room was such a fun way to hang out without just having the TV on.

Our family of four spent several days. It was clean, comfortable and perfect for us. Alyssa was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a cute little place to stay on the island.

Our stay at Benjamin’s lake house was absolutely perfect. We wanted peace and quiet and we got it! It was immaculately clean and the views are spectacular. We hope we can visit again soon!

If you are looking for a tranquil remote setting, the search ends here. This place is the perfect gateway but you are close enough to civilization to get out and about. The hosts were super responsive and kind. The only problem you’ll have is finding all the time to do all the fun things nearby, and then debating whether or not you even want to leave such a cozy cabin. 10/10, worth every penny.

We had a great stay at Frank & Zoltan’s! So many thoughtful touches & we really enjoyed the pool and location. Very walkable to the falls, Clifton hill, etc. It was a very nice stay & we loved having what was a calm and serene getaway from the hustle and bustle of Niagara Falls. The bottle of wine was a nice touch! We appreciated their hospitality. Great hosts, would recommend

Ami’s place was great! Stayed for my birthday and was surprised with a delicious tres leche cake upon my arrival! The view was incredible, amenities were amazing, overall it was everything I hoped for and more. Thanks Ami!

Chris's place is in a beautiful, sweet, quiet neighborhood full of beautiful homes and a vibrant community. It is very walkable and we had a great time exploring.

This place was absolutely beautiful. It has amazing amenities and technology forward features. My husband and I truly enjoyed this loft. We definitely recommend and will book again ourselves when in town. Thank you again Florian.

Great space, comfy bed & loved the rooftop sauna!

Beautiful and comfortable home, nicely decorated. Felt like home away from home. The place is very cozy with a great view at the river, very relaxing. I have to say it has exceeded my expectations. Judi and Dave are very responsive. I would book again in a heartbeat.

This was PERFECT for our family of 5. We brought an air mattress and the two beds were so comfortable! Everything was well labeled and instructions were clear there are other lofts on the same floor but it was quiet. We always bring a sound machine and it was just enough we didn’t hear anything. The only thing I’d recommend to be aware of as a parent traveling with kids is this is an old converted school house with the original hardwood floors so they creak with every step. If you have young kids who sleep lightly just be aware. But truly, it fit our needs and was quite charming to be staying in an old schoolhouse!

We spent Memorial Day weekend at Julia and Simon’s place. It was very easy to find, and the place was just as described. The view from the deck is picturesque, and we were lucky to watch a beautiful sunset on our first night. The place is a comfortable place to relax after taking in the sites and activities in the surrounding areas. We would definitely stay here again!

Lovely place,just as described. River running out back,very peaceful and picturesque. Basia and Bradley communicated very well . They checked in at various times to make sure we had what we needed. Comfortable beds and very clean invironment. Thank you again for having us.

the loft was beautiful! it seemed like we were the very first guests there. it was so clean! we enjoyed walking to the Record store in Columbus and the restaurants in German Village are amazing. would defiantly like to stay there again

We had an amazing stay at Harmony’s place! It was super clean, incredible views of the ocean and watching the sunsets each night. The place was beautifully decorated and up to date appliances, everything we needed was there. Comfortable beds and pillow were a plus. We loved how easy it was to walk right out to the beach. Having two young kids, it was awesome to have beach chairs, toys, boogie boards, umbrella and MORE all provided! Short walk to the pier for food at Koko Cabana and Ruby’s coffee. We hope to make Oak Island our family spot each year and will book this condo again!

We had a great vacation and highly recommend this condo! The rental was beautiful, very homey, updated and clean. The location can’t be beat. It was convenient getting to both the pool and the beach. It was only a couple of steps if you forgot something and had to run back. Even though the pool was shared, it was rarely crowded. The condo was well stocked, beyond your typical “enough to get started”. There were cleaning supplies, including dishwasher pods, trash bags, and laundry detergent. The kitchen was well stocked, had great appliances and all the basic cooking supplies like salt & pepper, cooking oil, coffee pods and coffee filters. The two decks were amazing. The view from the second story deck was incredible. I wish they had a table on one of the decks so we could eat meals outside while looking at the ocean, but we made do with the rocking chairs. The beds were a little stiff for our liking, but that’s personal preference. Otherwise it was amazing and we’ll be back!

We stayed at Mark & Lisa’s place for a night and had a great night. Mark’s very responsive and gave very detailed instructions before the check-in. The place is nice and has all amenities one needs. We didn’t get to use most of them such as BBQ, patio furnitures, dishwasher, coffee machine, etc , due to limited time there, but these are all available.

Bryan is super responsive and easy to communicate with. He notified us of detailed check in and check out instructions. He then checked in on us towards the end of the trip to make sure all of our expectations were met; to which they were. This condo is exactly as described in the listing and pictures. It’s clean and cozy. The view from the bedroom is unmatched. The location is perfect in a sense that it’s not too close to the boardwalk, making the area a little more quiet, but also within 10 mins to the best restaurants and bars. The staff at the condo and even other guests were friendly and courteous. If you’re afraid of heights, this might not be the best place to stay for you, but as I previously mentioned, the view from the master bedroom can’t be beat. That view alone, would have us stay again. I would definitely recommend this stay to others.
