Earth house holiday rentals in Appalachian Mountains

We had a great family getaway at this amazing property. The dogs enjoyed the big yard, and we enjoyed the hot tub after a long hike. Beautiful spot!

Being a dog friendly space was very important to us. The backyard was the perfect place for our dog to be let out and for him to explore on his own. Although the space doesn't have AC, or it wasn't on when we were there, it cools off very fast if you leave the door open for a little! Ithaca is a beautiful town with lots to explore, many dog friendly places, and things to do without the pup when the evening calls for it. We recommend this space and the town for a few days get away!

This was our second stay at Linda's home and we had a great time. The house was cozy and clean and we felt right at home there. The fenced in yard and having access to the pond right out the back door was great for us and our dog. The location is great too in that it's close enough for southern NH and northern MA day trips. We had a great week - thanks Linda!

As so many others have said, this is more than just a place to stay. It's an incredible experience. The pictures capture some of the perfection of this cozy Hobbit Hole, but can't do justice to all of the thoughtful touches Cynthia and Pepper have included throughout. It's clear how much love and attention have gone into this home! This trip was a surprise for my husband's 40th birthday. We spent our time watching the Lord of the Rings, playing board games, and eating many meals. The cold and rainy weather, which prevented us from exploring more of the area, made our stay feel all the more cozy. Cynthia and Pepper were kind and responsive hosts, and they've set up some wonderful adventures around their property, including a Quest, Archery, and an indoor scavenger hunt that we loved doing. I can't recommend this place highly enough, and can't wait to come back again!

This place is gorgeous. We visited for a surprise birthday party and have considered making this an annual trip. We felt safe having our kids explore, which there was plenty to explore! The trails are well kept, the bridge is so cute, and the waterfall is so relaxing. We walked the trail several times. The fruit orchard is great. My kids LOVED walking around and eating fruit and collecting eggs. The weather wasn’t the most friendly, but we enjoyed the variety of available games in the kitchen area and had a great time. We had enough firewood to burn wood for 2 nights. It’s a great venue.

The Pond House is an absolute gem! The design is stunning, blending beautifully with the surrounding wilderness. The views are breathtaking, and the winter hiking trails made for a fun adventure. Inside, the cozy atmosphere, wood-burning fireplace, and well-stocked kitchen made our stay incredibly comfortable. A perfect getaway, we can’t wait to return!

Everyrhing was as described and it was very peaceful. We did have to leave a day early for a emergency. But really wnjoyed out stay. Will definitely come back again next time we are explorimg the area.

August 2024, 1 adult & 2 children , g9 b7, Unfortunately the weather was not on our side and it rained everyday and was cold, we tried to make the most of it, but camping is a gamble for the weather. The place is very nice, peaceful and secluded. outside the cabin the temperature was about 13 degrees or less at night, but inside it was constantly 20 degrees and dry. we had access to drinkable water, bbq, plenty of free fire wood, showers , toilets. at the lake there is plenty of water toys and space. the lake is huge and it's very quiet. Marc who was on site for support was great, and stopped by each day to check we had everything we needed. thanks Marc.

Mary-Lou was very responsive and helpful! Her place was clean and accurately described, and we enjoyed our weekend! :) Would recommend her as a host!

Cute and cozy. Directly across the street from the trails and great spot for night time bonfires. very nice.

We really enjoyed staying here. We were pleasantly surprised at the board games and other amenities in the cabin. the host was very accommodating and responded right away when we messaged. Honestly, this air bnb was above and beyond our expectations and was better than other air bnbs that we have stayed in before. We will definitely come back to stay here again if we are able to come back to Quebec some day

A wonderful retreat for two AT hikers and our dog. Quiet, comfortable, and very well taken care of. Great to come back from a long hime to dip in the hot tub and look at the stars!

Great place plenty of space. Beautiful backyard and patio. Bed we’re really comfortable. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Only comment would be the noise from the water heater disturbed the sleep of the person in the fourth bedroom.

The stay was great. Despite being cold outside, the wood stove provided plenty of warmth. It was great to unplug.

This was a lovely place to unwind, and be present in the moment. Whether it was the hammock when the weather was nice (or a walk on the property trail!) or a cozy fire when it was less-nice, it was a private spot to relax but close to the various state parks and Ithaca for activities!

We enjoyed our stay here. Plenty of space for each of us girls on our girls trip/bachelorette weekend. Comfortable and cute design. Loved the concept. The wildlife around made it feel even more like a little storybook fairytale shire home :)

The Hobbit House was exactly what we thought it would be- a peaceful retreat away from everything. It was a bit of a drive from everything, but well worth it! We went hiking at Shenandoah National Park and down to Charlottesville then back to the Hobbit House to play board games and read.

The house in the hill was amazing. Hannah and Tyler are amazing hosts. They went above and beyond. We took this trip for a birthday surprise and she made sure it was special for my little sister. They are truly kinda hearted people and thank you for sharing your home to make some amazing memories. There was so much to do inside and outside of the house. The property was beautiful and very peaceful too.

Jacob's dome and beautiful property were perfect. It was super clean and comfy, and the most peaceful getaway. I would definitely stay there again!

I was more than delighted from the first moment! The photos don't do it justice in my opinion. It is so obvious the joy and fun that went into creating this special place. The moment I walked in, the ambience made me feel totally relaxed and totally at comfort in a magical way. It feels authentic and had everything we could need. We enjoyed finding all the special touches and details. You couldn't ask for better hosts than Randy and Lisa. Their experience as hosts shows while they also make you feel special and welcomed. My mother, sister and I left feeling reconnected, rested and rejuvenated after a night of hobbit leisure. Comfy beds and comfy furniture, great coffee bar, amazing bathroom, nice tv, fully stocked kitchen . Really a perfect experience.
