Monthly Rentals in Shawnee National Forest

We were in town for a girls get away with some hiking and Twisted Sister was perfect! Such a beautiful setting and so close to the places we wanted to go. It was super easy to get in, very clean, and had everything we needed to cook for ourselves as we prefer to do. We also enjoyed strawberries from Flamm Orchard, and great hikes at nearby Little Grand Canyon and Cove Hollow, plus of course Giant City State Park. Candace was an excellent hostess. She lives next door but gave us complete privacy. And when I had questions or wanted recommendations she was super responsive. It made us feel safe and cared for. It is so nice that she shares her beautiful property with guests in this way. We will be back!

We loved being able to see all of the beautiful wildlife that is on the property and we loved fishing all day on the lake. The host was very helpful and accommodating. We all had a great time.

The cabin was beautiful and true to the pictures! We absolutely loved how private it all felt and we saw deer several times during our four days there, including a baby fawn that we saw a couple times. The pond was super nice to have available and both kids loved finding all the tiny frogs there. We had a lot of rain during our visit so didn't get to make as much use of the fire pit and porch as we would have liked, but it was available and the host was super friendly, and even said she could drop by more wood if needed. Everything was very clean and well stocked, and the location was perfect. Highly recommend the thirty minute drive to Bell Smith Springs if you stay, it was the most beautiful of the trails we had time to visit, but there's so much that is convenient to the cabin location.

The Potel is an amazing spot for a peaceful getaway. The tiny house and the surrounding property is very clean and well maintained. The location within Shawnee is great, as you are no more then a 15-40min drive from great hiking. The abundance of fireflies at night was an added bonus!! Would highly recommend staying at the Potel!!
