What a great place, surrounded by nature, it feels like you’re away from it all, we’d definitely come back.

We were greeted by Lucille , who spoke perfect English and Monsieur . We were shown all about the house, how to operate the jacuzzi and given excellent recommendations for the area. The booklet was invaluable particularly for village market days. The house is so attractively deco and so comfortable with everything you need to make your stay troubles free and relaxing. As we are from Australia we loved cooking outside on the BBQ. Being supplied with wraps for the jacuzzi was much appreciated as was the jacuzzi after climbing lots of steps visiting the castles. Our hosts all came to farewell us which was a lovely friendly touch. We thank you all for your lovely home and generous spirit of welcome. This is an excellent Perigord base and we strongly recommend it.

Excellent stay at Sophie's, the accommodation is ideal for a couple, there is everything as at home. Very quiet environment, and the restaurant recommended by Sophie was excellent.

Julian’s place was most peaceful and relaxing. We stayed a week but could have stayed longer. We had all the amenities we wanted and feel that the gite is very good value for money. The weather was unseasonably cool, but we still enjoyed swimming in the unheated pool. There are two outdoor spaces which we used each day. For cooler weather there is a substantial wood burner.

An enchanted break at the cabin by the pond! We had a great time close to nature. A warm welcome from Sara, with excellent sourdough bread. Access is simple and quick to this cocoon of greenery. The cabin is soft and full of charm. We were able to enjoy it under the sun, but also snuggling in it during a stormy evening, it was great and so cozy, the cabin is very well insulated; but if needed, the stove was already ready to heat this cozy place (we didn't need it.). We felt at home there. There are many nooks and crannies to enjoy this peaceful retreat, observe nature and adopt a peaceful way of life. We strongly recommend this place and its charming hostess. Thanks for creating this place.

4 days as a family in this wonderful gite in the red house. The accommodation is very spacious and has a lot of character (classified house), ideally located for walking around Chinon and shining in the area. There are all the necessary amenities, the bedding is comfortable and the apartment tastefully decorated. Thanks to Nathalie and Vincent for their warm welcome and good advice, we'll be happy to come back!

The space is comfortable and carefully decorated. If the weather allows it, the outdoors is charming too. Marie-Noëlle recommended local walks for us. The bedding is also great. We will be back without hesitation.

This is the second time we have stayed at Loustalet. Need I say more? Extremely comfortable home, everything we needed for a family holiday. Nightingales sang in the woods, buzzards and kites soared above us and we were visited by hares and deer in the garden. The house is well situated for what we needed in Castillion la Bataille and close enough to enjoy Saint Emilion and Libourne. Our host was extremely attentive and helpful yet respected our privacy and we are surely to return again.

Thank you for this charming cottage, we had a great time there as a family. The garden is superb, wooded, quiet and pleasant. The freshness of the house is very pleasant in summer. Everything is as described, with a bonus of toy bins for the kids!! :)

The riverside accommodation is magical, the hosts are great and at the top of their game, we had a great (but too short) time.

Well equipped and good location. We had a great month by the fire, quiet, surrounded by nature. Close to small towns with activities, supermarkets and 20min from Perigueux About 2 hours from Sarlat and other beautiful sites in the Dordogne. Even though a lot of things are closed in January, we didn't get bored! Easy and pleasant communication with Jacques and his daughter Claire-Helene. Friendly hosts, we recharged ourselves. We stayed here for a week with a group of 12 and found the home to be perfectly sized. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out if wanted and still enough spaces for us all to come together. The grounds and area in general are stunning and very peaceful. You absolutely need a car to get around to anything. The nearest towns are small and charming and Tours is only about 40min away. It's important to note the second floor has 2 showers, so the bedrooms with the single beds (pink and green) must share with the turquoise room, or walk through the blue room to use theirs. The water is hot but the top floor has low pressure if anyone else is showering. The house and furnishings show their age but it's very comfortable and charming. All of Pierre's recommendations were lovely - we did the carriage ride and hired a private chef (Morgan) both with great success. I would definitely recommend the stay again it was such a relaxing week and a great hub to all the Loire chateaux.
