Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Poitou-Charentes

We had a delightful stay here. La Gite is a gem and Catherine is a lovely host. La Gite is spacious and very lovely inside (and outside) and beautifully comfortable. Added bonus is the swimming pool! There're quite a few lovely chateaux nearby, surrounded by rolling countryside and majestic towns eg Chinon & Richelieu, and of course the River Vienne.

From the moment we arrived, our experience at Bianca and Chris's Airbnb felt like something out of a chocolate box—truly magical! The property was picture-perfect, cozy, and full of charm. And the views—absolutely stunning! You simply couldn’t beat them. Waking up to that scenery each day was an unforgettable experience. Bianca and Chris were amazing hosts—warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Enjoyed our stay in Vouneuil-sur-Vienne small house in the forest very clean and well arranged, quiet without vis-à-vis, with all amenities as well as shops nearby. Jean-Marc, our host, kind, helpful, available, ready to do anything to make our stay enjoyable. We had a great time. Having family in this area, we will definitely be coming back in October 2025. We would recommend.

The house is really perfect for a break from everyday life with friends, ideally located and very well furnished. It is clear that the construction of the house was done with the well-being of future vacationers in mind. I have absolutely nothing to complain about, even without having seen the otters! We had the chance to meet Gertjan who is really nice and available, and we had Helena by message who is just as nice and responsive. We will come back without hesitation!

Louis-Antoine was a welcoming and incredibly knowledgeable host who gave us a thorough and thoughtful introduction to both the apartment and the city. His recommendations for things to do and places to eat and explore in Bordeaux were spot-on and much appreciated. The apartment itself is in a fantastic location—just steps from the beautiful Jardin Public, where we enjoyed several relaxing walks. It was clean, quiet, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We truly felt at home. We would absolutely recommend staying here to anyone visiting Bordeaux.

Antoine's place is very special! The cathedral view is absolutely beautiful, and it is so close to all of the wonderful city sites in Poitiers. It is surprisingly spacious for its footprint, and feels lovely and private even though it is on a bit of a walking thoroughfare. The amenities were exactly what we were looking for, the apartment was veautifully clean and tidy, and Antoine was very kind and responsive in our communication. We were also stunned by the incredible value for the price--a beautiful space in a lovely area, all while being very affordable. I would highly recommend a stay here at the Cathedral View!

An absolutely stunning classically, well thought out, French property! The house was stunning and attention to detail was second to none! We loved it here, the house is fully equipped and has gorgeous little touches. The host is extremely responsive on messages and via telephone, and if travelling from UK, which we were his English is fantastic. Jean-Christophe sent plenty of information to us before our arrival and made some recommendations too! Be careful when arriving at property if you are driving as if you take the wrong turning (the entrance to the place is in the front square) you have a long 10 minute drive to get all the way back around the one way system again! We did have to wait quite a while for the lady who met us at the property however it wasn’t a big issue, she was great and very helpful too! Absolutely recommend this place. Thanks Jean-Christophe

Very nice welcome from Christine who, having been unable to make herself available to welcome us, had prepared the stove: all that was left was to light the match! The accommodation is clean, functional, warm and spacious: perfect for taking a break, whatever the weather. We also took advantage of our stay at Christine's to go to Puy du Fou, located 25 minutes from the accommodation. The exchanges with Christine are warm and jovial, thanks again for everything!

so good we stayed another night, perfect location, park the car in their garage and wander around this beautiful city. Frederick could not have been more helpful and left us at ease, can't wait to come back for longer next year.

Had a fantastic week at this beautiful gite. It's so peaceful, private and a perfect place to relax and unwind. It has been renovated to a very high standard and is absolutely spotless, comfortable and well equipped. We felt right at home here. We very much enjoyed the pool and the log burner (on a couple of chilly nights) and the ability to log into our Netflix account. The surrounding area is very beautiful, with lots of stunning villages and castles to visit. Anemone is a great host and really helpful and friendly. All in all, we could not have had a more perfect week and would definitely return.

We had a fantastic week as a family of 10, ranging in age 83 to 16. The space was absolutely perfect for us to spend time together in the lounge and around the swimming pool. Not many places are this close to a beautiful sandy beach with les halles less than 5 mins away by cycle. We loved Les Bois en Plage and highly recommend it for everything it has to offer. A special thanks to Emmanuelle for being such a responsive and considerate host...answering so many of our questions!

We had a great stay at Omar's, he's an available and flexible host. The accommodation was very nice and especially the garden on these beautiful days. The house corresponded in every way to what we were looking for for a group of several people. I recommend it!

Such a wonderful location, so secluded and peaceful. We were welcomed warmly and calmly. The house was spotless, the pool was lovely and warm and the house is much larger than it appears. We particularly liked the huge bed. Coming from England we were excited by the shutters and it was perfectly dark. We slept so well. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. We will be coming back next time we are in France, and next time bringing friends. It was wonderful.

This is a beautiful house. The photos don’t do it justice. The surrounding countryside is peaceful and quiet. The house has pretty much everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Val was a kind and attentive host who responded to our messages quickly and was helpful with recommendations for bakeries, patisseries, restaurants and days out. Sadly the weather meant that the pool was a bit too cold to use but we used the plentiful seating in the pool area a lot and were able to eat out on the terrace in the evening. I would thoroughly recommend this beautiful home and we may well be back another year.

The house matched the description. Jean-Baptiste responded very quickly to our questions. The setting and location are fantastic. The swimming pool with the vineyards surrounding the house are an absolute added value.
