Holiday rentals with lake access in North Carolina

We really enjoyed our stay here for a quick weekend getaway. The view was fabulous from inside and outside. The house was a great size for our small family. We would stay here again!

The lake house was even better than the pictures. The property grounds were beautiful and an easy walk down to the dock. Our kids had the best time swimming from the dock and kayaking in the cove. We brought our boat and I really appreciated the nice fendering on the dock. We would love to stay at Phillips house again in the future.

Wow, just wow!! This place is even better than the photos. This place is the perfect place to rest and reboot in nature. Along with all of the things to do on the property, such as the trails and disc golf course, the house is just its own slice of Heaven. The garden area is private and the perfect space for mediating, reading or just listening to all the sounds of nature. We didn’t need music because the sound of rushing water and birds was soothing enough! The house is beautiful and clean, and the attention to detail is just something beyond words. If you have time, definitely read some of the Frank Lloyd Wright books scattered through the house, and it will make you appreciate the house all that much more. A good 20% of the trip was just admiring all of the nooks and crannies within the home, from the copper details, wooden bowls made by Kevin the owner, or the different structured wood beams, it all just makes the home it’s own piece of art. I couldn’t recommend this place enough.

The sunsets from the porch are gorgeous. It is not only impressive that this home was built in just the perfect spot to catch an amazing sunset, but also nestled in the middle of Fontana Lake with a great view of the lake. I can’t say enough about this location! I’ve grown up coming to the Carolina’s and never knew about Fontana Lake. This cabin feels incredibly secluded and luxurious, but close enough to all the best adventure spots—Nantahala, Deep Creek, Smoky National Park, Fontana Lake access points, Appalachian Trail—you name it. There is even a great trailhead walking distance from the cabin that has great views of the lake, creeks, and challenging and diverse enough to walk 2-3x. We saw deer and wild turkey almost everyday and the wildflowers were in bloom all over. Additionally, the master bedroom has an amazing view from the bed. When I opened my eyes each morning, I had a view of the smokies that was mesmerizing. We all want to rent this cabin again!

The house was as advertised: beautiful location, the outdoor space was really incredible, and the kitchen upstairs/theater setup downstairs were popular hang out spaces. The only issue was the alarms on the back doors. Each of the back sliding doors had a manual alarm that had to be pressed to exit and enter the house. They were incredibly loud, even when used as instructed. They are obviously there for safety reasons but it made it really difficult at times to be in and out of the house to enjoy the wonderful outdoor space.

This beautifully landscaped secluded getaway is exactly what we needed. The large pond, small walking paths around the property and large screened in porch are a perfect way to detach from the day-to-day. When we stayed in May, the temperatures were cooler and the heated pool made it so much better to enjoy. The kids loved exploring the arcade machines upstairs as well. Highly recommend staying here if it remotely piques your interest!

We really enjoyed our stay! Great spot for families, very private and peaceful. Good location, close to all the hiking, fishing and things to do in Boone. Appreciated the instructions on all the appliances. Connie was very accommodating and responsive. Would love to come back another time, especially with the pool opening up with the warmer weather!

This is my second time staying at this fantastic spot, and it was just as great as the first. They are wonderful hosts, the place is a real hidden gem, and the community has so much to offer. It certainly won't be my last time here!

Loch Norm Lair is beautiful and relaxing. Great neighborhood. Just the peaceful week we needed. Rick and Judy are extremely friendly. Rick loves to share his boat and will take you for a ride. We sat and talked with them on several occasions and shared a dinner at a restaurant. The place is well cared for and a great deal, very reasonable pricing. It was a shame the sailboat wasn't working, would have loved a ride. We are already talking about a return trip in warmer weather to fully enjoy the water. Thank you so much for the beautiful week. Kara is the property manager and she was SUPER sweet, helpful and responsive. The beds were very comfortable and I LOVED how you can rent the golf carts (someone previously mentioned battery would die quick but that’s if your gone hours & hours just like you’d run out of gas) everything was nearby and we saved a lot of money and time with the golf carts due to parking, access to beach and price to rent. If you were to actually rent one from certain places it was WELL over $200/day. So Loreen was doing us a favor and making it more affordable lol The place was very clean ! I am a neat freak and super clean myself so I was on the look out 👀 but this place was very clean. Only reason I can’t go back is definitely NOT due to the place itself but because my senior dog couldn’t make it upstairs 😔 from now on we have to take stairs inconsideration. That’s because of our dog NOT this place This place is definitely 10/10 loved it and made some best memories with my family ❤️❤️❤️🥹

My wife and I stayed in this waterfront property for a Memorial Weekend getaway and it was everything we hoped for. The house was clean and Alice was a wonderful host, giving insight about local restaurants and answering any questions we had.

Can’t say enough how friendly and nice Ginger & Terry were! Made us feel like we were home. Place is very clean. Will not hesitate to tell others about this place or go back too! Short walk to the pier to walk on to see a beautiful lake

Great stay with a rustic experience. Loved hearing the rooster when i arrived and the frogs at night. The Magnolia tree smells amazing. Definitely off thr beaten path and a great get away for fast paced city folks. The studio had some many detailed touches and was very nice!

Such an awesome space and an amazing house! The couches and bed were incredibly comfortable — we felt right at home from the moment we walked in. The attention to detail in the decor was just beautiful; every corner of the house had a thoughtful, welcoming touch. You can definitely tell that Staci and Tricia have Southern Hospitality on lock! One of our favorite parts was walking the peaceful path around the lake. We saw turtles, geese, and even visited the nearby bird sanctuary — it was like a little nature retreat. A perfect stay in every way. Highly recommend!

We spent Easter weekend here. As we drove in the wild azaleas and dogwoods were blooming, and everything afterwards was just as beautiful and peaceful. My teenagers loved kayaking and my daughter liked the pond so well she slept on the daybed on the porch. I appreciated the feather pillows and reverse osmosis water. Attention has been paid to every detail. I called my Nana to show her the antique desks. My small children enjoyed the toys and my middle son using the pully bucket on the porch. My daughter celebrated a birthday over our stay, more movie guests showed up than expected and I just couldn't turn these kids away. Our hosts were so kind. They of course charged a little extra as was clearly understood via the contract, they were very understanding and polite. The lock to the boat seems to be jamed, the downstairs fireplace is currently non operational, and I'm not sure I'll get back a thumb drive I forgot, but this family has worked hard to create really special place. Five star

We absolutely LOVED this cottage on the lake! The view was beautiful, and the kids caught a lot of fish off of the dock! It was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and it had everything we needed. Jack was a great host. Very responsive and hospitable. Already talking about when we can come back!

Can't say enough about my stay and how lovely Sarabeth was. The cottage was truly beautiful (the art work, design, furnishings). Every detail was thought of. It was the perfect getaway in stunning surroundings. Sarabeth and her family were so warm and responsive whenever I had questions. I felt truly welcome. It's a very special place and I can't wait to go back.

This was out very first time renting out of Airbnb and definitely won’t be the last. Not only was this very affordable for the amenities they provide, it was such a beautiful stay and experience! The home itself was incredibly clean and organized and had so many features like a laundry machine and extra cleaning supplies like laundry detergent and dishwasher pods. The view of the lake as well was amazing! Waking up to the sunrise was such a surreal experience. Not only did they also provide some fun snacks upon our arrival, they also had many treats and toys for our furry friend! Overall, it was a great visit and I can’t wait for our next trip here!

We had a great time at James place what i loved the most is that everything was as expected and was listed such as a 20 minute drive to the nearest Food Lion ( but there is a dollar store 8 minutes away that had everything we needed!) or that the amenities in the community are not walkable distance so you need a car to enjoy them. So there were no surprises except the fact that we ended up having rain most of our stay - and there is nothing to do in the area unless you drive atleast 40 minutes away. We still had a great time and made the best out of our stay with some cozy meals on the beautiful porch or movie and popcorn and just good family quality time without the need to "do" anything. we were lucky to have ome day without rain and then we managed to do the boardwalk and have burgers at the private community beach. so our stay was perfect :) James was very responsive and the house was clean! thanks again!
