Beach house holiday rentals in Costa Rica

We had the loveliest time at this beachfront house. The pool is gorgeous - not too warm or cold. It was so refreshing to relax in the pool and stare at the waves. The house is in the best part of Esterillos, right in front of the “mermaid” and the tide pools. The house is well designed and makes use of all the spaces. It was clean and well equipped. You can also walk to the nearby store and there are a few good restaurants just a block or two away walking along the beach. It was an amazing place to share with family, we will be back!

We had such a lovely time staying at Casa De Celeste. The property was absolutely gorgeous and in close proximity to town and adventures. It was the perfect getaway before our wedding. The caretaker Vincente was so kind and very helpful. He truly made the place feel like home. We will return and are looking forward to that day. I highly recommend this property.

Great location, a short walk from the beach. Spacious bedrooms and living area. Maud is a very considerate and accommodating host.

5 Stars – Best Airbnb I’ve Stayed In! This place was absolutely perfect! The location is excellent—just 50 yards from the beach, which made it incredibly convenient to enjoy the ocean every day. The home itself was spotless, with a beautiful pool and a well-equipped, modern kitchen. It had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Vidal was amazing—super helpful, responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Hands down, this is the best Airbnb I’ve stayed in. I would absolutely return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beach getaway!

We stayed for four days and had the most amazing time. I had tears in my eyes saying goodbye to Emerita. She and Diogenes were wonderful hosts who helped us with any questions and pointed out a baby sloth that we never would have seen without her pointing it out. It’s truly a magical place, Déborah. Thank you for your timely responses, accurate description, and recommendations. For those considering—know thyself! If you freak out over bugs, this isn’t the place for you. It’s Pura Vida. My son, daughter , and I loved everything! Morning Mother’s Day walk solo on the beach was perfection. We will return!!!!

The sunsets alone were worth every penny!! We raced back to the house every night just to watch the colors change. The house itself is quaint, clean, organized and quite perfect! It’s small but they have what is needed to hang your clothes as there is not a lot of room to leave open luggage. Our family ran and played on the quiet beach. I think we saw 5 people total.. great hard packed sand for morning and evening walks. There was a spot that was very dirty (glass, plastic, etc) from high tide that you would want to wear shoes to walk through. Giovanni was thorough in communications and quick to respond! His directions were very much appreciated. We knew there weren’t a ton of amenities nearby. But it’s no joke, when you leave the house pack what you need as it’s not near activities and has very limited eating. Not an issue for most - just a heads up!

Wow, just wow. I visited with my elderly parents and brother, even though the stairs are a little steep (we knew this prior to booking), everyone was blown away by the experience, view and service provided by the property. Well worth it! Everything exceeded expectations. Definitely was an executive experience.

This Airbnb was amazing with a spectacular view. The house was well organized and clean. If you’re looking for a secluded stay with beautiful scenery then look no further. I loved the floor plan of the house and how the master bedroom, master bathroom and living room all had glass doors that could open to allow guest to view the backyard, mountains, and ocean. The only thing I would like to make future guest aware of is the road to the house. If you’re renting a vehicle make sure that it is four wheel drive and be prepared to handle the terrain. All in all 10/10 stay.

The Casa Vera Vista was a beautiful villa on the cliff side over looking the bay with the most beautiful sunsets. The villa was close to the beach and great restaurants plus a good starting point for many excursions. The concierge team was always there when we needed them throughout the entire trip as well as with planning prior to arriving. The house was very clean, decorated very tastefully and had comfortable beds. The daily cleaning service was very helpful with three kiddos in tow. We had two dinners and breakfast with the recommended chefs and they exceeded our expectations, with both delicious food and friendly company. Our driver Raudy was always on time, professional and was very helpful in getting around with our busy itinerary. We definitely did a lot on our trip (zip lining, deep sea fishing, ATVs, snorkeling, rainforest, waterfalls, hot springs etc) and staying at the villa with the concierge service made it that much more special. Absolutely perfect for our girls’ trip! Villa Koa was everything we hoped for and more. The house is spacious, beautifully laid out, and the beds were super comfy. The backyard and views were absolutely stunning—perfect for relaxing and catching up. Just a heads-up: the villa is nestled in the mountains/jungle, so bugs are part of the experience—but nothing unexpected for the setting and totally manageable. You’ll definitely need a 4x4 with high clearance (we had a Suzuki Jimny and it handled the road great). The house is not walkable to town or restaurants, so having a car is a must. Special shoutout to Sophie, the concierge—she was amazing! She gave us fantastic local recommendations and helped plan some great outings. We had a brief issue with the hot water, but concierge responded immediately and maintenance got it sorted right away. Already planning our return next year—can’t wait!

We absolutely loved our stay. The 15 minute walk to the beach and restaurants was easy and always full of adventures. The backyard is an oasis where you never knew what to find. We watched groups of monkeys hang out. A sloth chill for the day. Macaws 🦜 fly by and endless amounts of hummingbirds feed on the foliage around. It was such a peaceful yet convenient location that made us not want to leave.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home is beautiful and clean. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. It was a wonderful experience.

This place is straight out a dream, views are exceptional! House is super spacious, & each rooms has its own everything. I’ve confident in saying this was the best BNB I’ve stayed in. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your place, we’ll be back again! FYI - The house is in the jungle, if you’re afraid of lizards & bugs I’d think twice. But if you love nature & what it has to offer. Please look no further. THIS IS THE PLACE TO STAY.

This is the most relaxed I have been in years. I’d stay a year if I could afford it. The sounds of nature just make it so easy to drift off to a nice sleep. The outside kitchen was not difficult to work with. Everything I needed was literally right there. The pool is perfect for relaxing in and is private. While I have a child, it was particularly nice to have a kid free atmosphere where you can just relax. There are so many things to do near by and Jim and his wife are lovely. Luna, the pup, is an absolute joy. I already miss it and can’t wait to come back! Thank you for your hospitality and the relaxing weekend. 🫶🏽

Absolutely incredible stay! Par en Par was even more beautiful than the photos. The views were truly breathtaking — we could see the ocean from every room and loved the privacy each space offered. The villa itself was spotless, stylish, and perfectly set up for a relaxing, luxurious vacation. The pool was a dream — clean, serene, and surrounded by lush greenery that made it feel like our own private oasis. The service was top notch. Omer was responsive, helpful, and always friendly. Any questions and requests were answered quickly, and they went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. We’d come back in a heartbeat!

Firstly, thanks Lissette for everything! WOW!! Is what comes to mind, this home has a spectacular view of the ocean, that we could of sat, watched and listen to for hours. It was very clean and cozy. I absolutely loved it. Lissette was very kind and helpful, even before my check in. She answered all my questions about the area she provided great recommendations. (If i would of had a little patience...lol.)Lissette also have a very helpful binder with instructions, tips, and restaurants provided for her guest. We loved our week stay in Playa Hermosa. The view is amazing and the house was the perfect size for us. We loved the gym, deck and pool. Ian was super helpful with scheduling activities. The best part of our stay was definitely having Rebecca come every morning and make us the best breakfasts ever! She is a superstar and even helped us with our Spanish. We will definitely return and would highly recommend visiting!

Malena's place is absolutely stunning and the perfect home base to explore Santa Teresa from. Waking up to the sunrise every morning looking out over the jungle and the mountains was magical, every detail of the place and property is beautiful, and Malena was an awesome host!

We had a fantastic stay at NAO! The place was very nice, clean, and incredibly comfortable — it truly felt like a home away from home. It had everything we needed for a relaxing and hassle-free stay, from a well-equipped kitchen to cozy spaces for lounging. One of the best surprises was the pool — it was even bigger and nicer than it looked in the photos! The location is also perfect — very well situated, just a short distance from downtown Puerto Viejo. It was super convenient to explore the area, enjoy local restaurants, shops, and the beach, all without needing to go far. The hosts were wonderful — very kind, thoughtful, responsive, and helpful throughout our stay.

We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Selvatica! Nestled deep in the jungle, this villa is the perfect escape into nature—peaceful, remote, and full of magic. The views are stunning, and we were lucky to spot monkeys swinging through the trees right from the pool. The villa itself is beautifully designed and fully equipped with everything we needed. It’s stylish, comfortable, and felt like a luxurious retreat. One of my favorite memories was relaxing in the pool with a glass of wine, just listening to the sounds of the jungle and watching wildlife all around us. If you're looking for a unique and serene experience, this place is a hidden gem. We had an amazing time and would return in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!

My first time to this part of Costa Rica. Second time to the country. I was looking for an adventure and also relaxation. I found both here. Jen has a magical place here in Malpais. The directions, the suggestions of places to go. I loved every minute of my stay. The story is in the details and there are many to be discovered.
