Ski-in/Ski-out holiday rentals in Appalachian Mountains

This place is truly unique. It's a get away space for musicians who share it when they aren't using it. The place has been built up and settled in. It's gorgeous, the location and the barn architecture. But it's not uptight. It feels like late 60s - early 70s rock and roll, or like classic country music. Maddy's family has a phenomenal record collection and the stereo sounds SO good. The albums we brought came to life there. There's also an excellent book collection, lots of rock and music stuff but also philosophy, literature, eco books, and classic kids book (lots of kids books and a massive toy trunk with toys for kids of all ages!). The kitchen has got pretty much everything you need, and all the basic amenities and appliances. Around about are lots of area lamps, interesting hangings, colored glass, rugs, throws, and well cared for house plants. Finally, the pond and field have not been chemical killed. So, there are lots of birds, frogs, fish, and nests.

Had a group of 10 stay here very comfortably with multiple options , house was clean and organized. Brendan was very helpful and kind and made us feel right at home. Blue mountain and surrounding area was awesome had lots of activities and restaurants and the golf course was amazing. Thank you again for this great experience!

This was our family’s first ever Lake Vacation and it did not disappoint. The view was spectacular. You are close to Smith Lake Marina if you want to rent a boat or jet ski. There are quaint restaurants close by and always a Dollar General. The home was just as Dave described. We loved having the golf cart to go to the dock. Dave was very helpful and always responsive. We hope to be back in Sept. for fall break. Thank you Dave for opening up your home away from home for my family and I to make new memories.

We had a quiet stay at the Farmhouse. Very peaceful and quiet location. Lots of space for our dog to roam. The house is very nice and clean. We enjoyed having coffee and looking out across the fields, reading, and cooking. It’s near the small village of Rochester with a few restaurants and otherwise we explored neighboring towns like Middlebury, Waitsfield, Stowe, and Montpelier.

Beautiful place! One of my mother in laws dream was to be at a lake house and this was better than expected. Even with some rain, it was still so beautiful. The dock was lovely and the view from the sunroom was amazing. We loved the fire pit! Not much firewood on the property so got our own. There was also no shampoo/bodywash/conditioner so we got some from the grocery store which was conveniently 7ish mins away. Loved the privacy! Will be back again!

Boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay. Accommodations were excellent. We really didn’t need anything but groceries and liquor :) The home had everything we needed (kitchen supplies including food containers, variety of seasonings, kcups, tea, keurig, hair dryer, washer/dryer) and didn’t think we needed (Qtips, hot tub towels, cleaning supplies, including laundry pods and dryer sheets, Netflix, Prime, grill accessories). The fully equipped kitchen, grill, and hot tub were bonus features for us. We will book again.

Wonderful stay! We enjoyed doing puzzles and exploring the nearby waterfall and lakes. The space was perfect, and we appreciated the opportunity to relax here.

JC’s Place was clean, cozy, and ideally located for exploring Acadia and Bar Harbor. Quiet, comfortable, and surrounded by nature—it was the perfect place to relax after a day of hiking. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Mount Desert Island!

T’s place was absolute perfection! It was beautiful, tastefully decorated and the homemade muffins and cookies were amazing! She and John were so lovely and accommodating. Relaxing on the dock on the river was a sublime experience as well! I really can’t say enough about my time spent there and if I’m ever in the area again I will definitely be staying at T’s! Why would you stay anywhere else!?

Kathy's cabin on the lake is the most magical place - quiet, peaceful and beautiful, the log cabin a throwback to an earlier time (but with great wifi). We sat on the dock with coffee and listened to the sound of loons out on the water. Kathy is also a great host. We will be back (we have actually stayed here a number of times because it's really the most lovely).

This is our second year at Leslie's cabin, a group of us that found this as a middle ground to meet. It's secluded but close enough to so much to do! We had coffee on the porch every morning, listening to the rain. We explored the farmer's market, hiked, found great food, and just had an incredible time overall. Leslie is responsive and helpful and keeps a great place!

I stayed at Angela’s yurt for Memorial Day weekend. It was exactly as described. My boyfriend and I had a very peaceful long weekend. The space was cozy and adorable and we especially loved the wood burning stove. Was a great stay, would definitely return and highly recommend.

Cozy spot with scenic views of Silver Lake. Our host Eric was responsive and provided detailed instructions on how to access the space and all of the perks included with the rental. Will definitely rebook if I ever find myself back in the area.

This cabin is perfectly equipped for long stays with a well stocked kitchen and plenty of extra linens. The fishing and water related activities were also great! It is a peaceful yet central place for exploring Michigan’s great sites. The shower is a little challenging for anyone over 6 feet tall but it’s a minor inconvenience overall.

It was a great escape from the city life. Very pleasant people in the area always saying hello. Quiet. Host was very attentive, always communicating. I felt right at home. 100% an experience you wouldn't be able to get from a hotel.

The whole trip was fantastic and Jonathan was a great host, answering all of our questions with speedy responses and having the cabin stuffed with board games, extra blankets, and even a little stash of good coffee in the freezer. Thank you again for an amazing time!

Me and my friends we were group of five. We enjoyed our stay at their place. It was amazing view by the lake side. The hot tub and kayaking experience was totally awesome. We will never forget our trip to Hampshire because of this beautiful house.

Very nice weekend in this small rustic chalet, everything was present as described. It's super quiet, easy to cook. The small outdoor shower is practical although cold at this time but you had to expect it. I suggest a curtain or a canvas for the large window in front of the beds, simply because it is currently very bright in the morning! Also, don't forget your mosquito repellent and coils according to the season, we had few mosquitoes on the hike and outside but they seemed to want to enter the hut at all costs, and in large groups. We used tactics. Maybe the door could be better sealed! We highly recommend the place for the calm, the cleanliness, the lack of network that does good!

We had such a relaxing and peaceful stay! The bed was comfortable, the view was beautiful, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. We were pleasantly surprised to find paper towels, toilet paper, snacks, coffee, and other essentials provided, something most cabins don’t include. Exactly as advertised - beautiful, very private, clean; a perfect place for a solo/couple getaway. Seamless communication and logistics with the friendly hosts, who clearly maintain the cabin with care. Book it!

We had a fabulous long weekend at Shasta’s place. Our family loves the outdoors and the location couldn’t have been better. It is right on Garnet Hill XC ski and snowshoe trails. Garnet Hill has been a favorite of our for years and so discovering this house was a gem of a find. It is also super close to Gore for some great downhill skiing and great snowshoe trails are also close. It is also super quiet being away from roads and other houses. We enjoyed cuddling up in front of the fire and playing games in the evening. We’re definitely planning to try to come back in the future!

Place felt like home. Kitchen was super clean and so were bathrooms. Jacuzzi, game room and sauna were my favorite part of the place. Most definitely coming back in the future.
