Monthly Rentals in Wethersta

We loved Orwick Lodge, so much, that we have already booked again for next year. The cottage was in a beautiful location, with stunning views, was well equipped, with a lovely hot shower and super comfy beds. The location was so quiet and peaceful and it was lovely to spot all the amazing birds frequenting the loch. The welcome pack was much appreciated and the complimentary mussels were delicious. We were lucky enough to see Orca, Otters and Mountain Hares during our stay, which made our time on Shetland extra special. Frankies serves some of the best fish and chips we've ever tasted and we had a fabulous meal at No.88 in Lerwick.

Midfield Croft is a great base for exploring Northmavine and the Northern Isles. It's a sympathetically updated traditional croft house (with perhaps the exception of the excellent and modern bathroom with both stand-up shower and bath). The kitchen was well equipped and the lounge was oh so comfortable. Oh, and room for three bedrooms upstairs (we used the twin). Bruce and Family were lovely. It's clearly a working croft but they all found time to chat and make suggestions for places to visit. We were even warned about a seasonal hazard, namely that the starlings were nesting! We will always remember eating breakfast and watching chickens and rabbits just outside and the new born lambs in the nearest field. We will also recall the stubborn starlings. Every morning we had to check under the car bonnet and the boot sill for their repeated attempts at nest making! In short, highly recommended.

Great holiday. Excellent location for exploring, if you are visiting other islands book the Ferry,, or you could be waiting a long time. The house has fantastic uninterrupted views over the Voe. Counted 8 varieties of birds, That time of the year, baby rabbits and lambs frolick around in the field, and the local farm cat will check up on you twice a day. There is an Honesty box just up from East Gate, where you can purchase fresh eggs rtc, we also found a small shop at Voe Tagon Stores which supplies local produce, Skibhoul bakery from Unst deliveries there every Tuesday, bread, softies, tea biscuits and bannocks, If you like sea food then Shetland is for you, No. 88 is a favourite of ours, booking essential. Fittings are only the best, from Egyptian cotton, M&S bed ware to Harrison-Spinks mattress, best nights sleep i have had. Nothing is too much trouble for our Host, We had a wonderful stay, Karen thank you for sharing your wonderful house with us.

The Chapel in Vidlin is a wonderful place to stay with everything provided that you could wish for. I have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone. We felt right at home there. Thank you to Sylvia for being such a fabulous host. We would love to come back one day!
