Monthly Rentals in San Francisco

This was a great place in a cool part of San Jose. Brand new high rise fronts directly on a park. Met some great people at the park. Lots of good restaurants in walking distance. The space is small but we had everything we needed for 3 days for a couple. The roof top common area was very usable for work or relaxing. Great views of the city. Be sure and go up to see the city at night. The host was very responsive and went out of his way to make us comfortable.

The apartment, especially the kitchen, is very well equipped and is located in a quiet dead end. We particularly appreciated the washing machine and the balcony. You can hear cicadas at night and birds chirping in the morning, although we were only a 15-minute walk from the flat to the Plaza de la Cultura. Communication with Mauricio and Juan Carlos was reliable, fast and pleasant. They also got us a reliable driver for the transfer to the airport in the middle of the night. Currently, the dead end appears slightly neglected due to the zoo's closure. This will certainly change when this area is redeveloped. Electric fences and high bars are common in the Amon neighborhood, including at the accommodation - it took us some time to adjust to as Europeans. Nevertheless, the flat was the perfect choice for us, with a great value for money, and we would love to stay here again at any time.

I had a great stay at Dominique’s AirBnB in Barrio Otoya. I was in San Jose for a week to explore some of Costa Rica’s capital and to do some day trips to tourist spots outside the city. The AirBnB was in a great location both for visiting museums and the National Theatre in downtown San Jose as well as for checking out coffee shops and restaurants in nearby Barrio Escalante. Dominique was a responsive host for check in and check out and also offered good local recommendations for activities (I arrived the weekend of the Transitarte festival which was a fab rec!) and places to eat (Cafe Otoya is a must!). The AirBnB has two stages to entry so feels very safe and secure (plus security camera!) on a quieter street, but is close to a pick up point for guided tours (across from the La Linea Bar). Overall, I would happily return here if ever back in San Jose! A note for light sleepers/late risers: heed the note re. the trains, especially in the morning (didn’t bother me though!😁)

Calling this home “little” is not quite accurate, because it is much more spacious than some of the other places we have stayed. The rooms are large and well laid out. The kitchen is a bit informal but it has everything you need. There are ceiling fans and a nice breeze that keep it cool. Lee is a great host who has lived in the neighborhood for many years. He is friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is colorful and full of historical buildings. There are many parks and restaurants nearby. Overall, this home provides great value, and l highly recommend it.
