Family-friendly holiday rentals in New Haven County

My family enjoyed their short stay at Camilla’s apartment. The apartment was a beautiful place.

We had a wonderful girls weekend. Rebecca let us check in a little bit earlier which was nice. The living room is beautiful and comfortable to sit in and enjoy the scenery. The kitchen was well equipped. We did use the sauna and hot tub. Very relaxing. Some of the beds are a little older and not as comfortable, but we were fine for our short stay. Plenty of towels, paper towels, toilet paper. Would love to visit again when it is warmer for the pool. Thank you Rebecca.

We had a wonderful stay! Gabe was a very welcoming host and shared some great local restaurant recommendations—highly recommend checking out Casa Nova on River Road. His two dogs, Molly and Nate, were also incredibly friendly and added a warm, homey touch to the experience. The apartment was spotless and filled with thoughtful notes that made everything easy. A special surprise was the bag of everything needed to make s’mores left for us—such a sweet and thoughtful gesture! The pool area offered stunning views, and the hot tub was clean and perfect for relaxing. There’s even a hiking trail accessible right from the property, which we unfortunately didn’t get a chance to explore—but it’s a great bonus for future visits. This place truly felt like a little piece of heaven. We’d absolutely stay here again!

We had a wonderful time. The weather was perfect. The view of the water was everything and was accessible from nearly every room. The home was modern and easily accommodated our large group. Yet it was cozy and beautifully appointed with all the amenities you would ever want. It is ideal for children with every toy imaginable. There was a highchair and a pack and play for our toddler and child appropriate dishes. The kitchen was fully equipped and had 2 sinks, 2 dishwashers and 3 tables for dining. The beautiful pool and hot tub were in constant use. Mary is very thoughtful and assembled a ringed binder with important contacts and suggestions for dining, shopping and entertainment. Although there was no beach on the property there are nearby beaches. The towns of Guilford and (nearby) Madison are charming and well worth visiting. Mary was very accommodating and responded promptly to several inquiries.

The home was absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. It's exactly as described but even more spacious than I expected. They put a lot into making guests feel welcome, including prompt communication, a quick walk through to explain where things are, numerous suggestions for the surrounding area, and even a tray of welcome cookies! I came for a 50k trail race, so the hot tub was a perfect added bonus. I HIGHLY suggest booking this property, and I'll definitely be back to spend some time at the beach.

This was a beautiful, historic home. The pool/ spa area was perfect for the 8 of us. We spent days lounging in the pool, visiting wineries, Kent, Kent Falls, New Preston and touring the area. We also spent time on the hiking trails that are accessible right from the property. The little town of Washington was quaint and had the basics of what you may need. A Wonderful book store and coffee shop (Marty’s Cafe, their gluten free pastries were fantastic). There was even a small market. We would definitely recommend the G W Tavern for dinner. Gregory was very easy to communicate with and answered all our questions and concerns. Having a full time automatic generator was really wonderful, we had some storms while we were there and the neighbors were without power but we continued on without interruption. Even the house A/C, spa and pool filter and heater were up and running. Our daily visits from all the wildlife and resident spirit were magical. We loved our time here!

We were all immediately happy at Susan’s place! Our two year old found the toy room and played happily, our eleven year old lived in the beautiful pool and my husband and I felt like we could really relax. The location is 5 minutes from town where you can get coffee and a bite, or 8 minutes from the beach/state park. The property feels private and the house is charming and well appointed. The pictures don’t do it justice, it’s really lovely.

We loved our stay here. It was the perfect place for two of us and our dog. The home was just as described, welcoming, cosy and well equipped, and we appreciated all the local recommendations. We enjoyed local walks, the lake, and the great dog park, as well as easy access to Middletown to visit our son. Elisabeth and Daniel were fantastic hosts!

This is our second time staying here, conveniently located. Very comfortable accommodation for me and my family. Will definitely stay here again!

Victor and Kim were gracious and amazing hosts. I was celebrating my birthday and they even had a card, a bottle of champagne, red wine and fruit. It was such a wonderful surprise! The house was so beautiful and the beach is just outside! The kitchen was fully stocked with everything one would need to cook for a family; there was a convection oven! We loved using the grill as it was memorial day. Bathrooms had rain showers. Beds were so comfortable and it was truly wonderful to wake up to a beautiful sunrise and to just listen to the waves from the deck or even the living room. We spent a lot of time outside, on the beach. It was home away from home.

Brian was a fantastic host he was very responsive and went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable. I felt very much at home and could prepare home-cooked meals for out-of-town guests. I would highly recommend this place!

Our family had a beautiful stay at the Purple Button Factory. Charming and comfortable, this historic house was perfect for exploring Guilford. A special nostalgic trip for us as my children grew up here. Short walk to wonderful cafes and shops on The Green. We loved the birdlife and views from the back patio and absolutely fell in love with the picturesque sunny kitchen. Spent a lot of time gathered together there around the wooden table. Than you for sharing your home.

It was so comfortable and peaceful. We had a great time exploring nearby beaches and hikes. We would definitely stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay! Such easy access to the beach was so convenient. You’re definitely better off venturing out after high tide to enjoy the most amount of beach and there are a lot of shells that make being barefoot challenging. We did arrive after major storms which could have contributed to that. The house was spotless with everything you need to be comfortable! We did not utilize the outdoor space but definitely would have if the weather was drier! Definitely would stay here again.

Jamie & Rose are the consummate hosts: clear communicators, friendly, helpful and supportive of their guests' (and their animals') experience. The cottage is New England cute on steroids, and super private. All was tip top, first rate for a country cottage experience. Thanks for making our experience so smooth and relaxing.

We had a wonderful stay at Todd's place! Todd greeted us warmly and was very responsive. The pool was fantastic and surrounded by beautiful nature, making it a serene spot to relax. We stayed in the pool apartment, which looked out at the pool and stunning backyard. It was well-equipped with a kitchen, pool towels, a TV, couches, and a dining table. Wendy, Todd's wife, welcomed us with cookies, and they provided milk, orange juice, eggs, yogurt, and fruits. There was also a grill available. We stayed for three nights and enjoyed the pool a lot. Despite being a shared pool, there was plenty of space and time for everyone. We also used the tennis court and played some basketball at the basketball rink there. Todd and Wendy made our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. We highly recommend their place!

My girlfriend and I had a great stay here. The place was cozy, well-equipped, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The outdoor area was the true highlight — from the spacious patio to the beautifully maintained landscaping, the property felt peaceful and private. There’s also a pool that looked amazing, even though we couldn’t enjoy it due to the weather. We had some trouble during check-in after a delayed flight and arrived around midnight, but the property owners were just a phone call away and quickly helped us get settled, which we really appreciated. Overall, it was a great experience and we’d absolutely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a quiet, scenic place to unwind.

We had an amazing time at Marybeth’s suite—it truly felt like a winter wonderland. Our kids had a blast "swimming" in the snow and "rolling" over the gentle hills. Every moment was filled with joy, whether we were relaxing in the sunroom, playing in the snow, or swinging outside. The time spent together as a family, along with our conversations with Marybeth and her family, was truly precious. We can’t wait to return in the summer!

This was the perfect place for our family to get away from the city. It was a family friendly home that was perfect for our little one. The house was clean and came with all of the necessary essentials we needed. The location was private and serene while still accessible to lots of wonderful local restaurants and stores. The beach was easily accessible and within walking distance. Additionally, Morgan was responsive and always available to answer any questions we had. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and recommend it to any family.

Absolutely perfect getaway, even better than the photos. This house exceeded every expectation. The design and decor were stunning, and every room felt beautifully curated and cozy. The views were even more breathtaking in person, with complete privacy and peaceful surroundings. We spent our days enjoying the heated pool and our nights relaxing by the fireplace. It was the perfect mix of comfort and luxury. The host was one of the best we've ever had. Stephen was thoughtful, responsive, and even let us extend our stay an extra day when the weather turned chilly over MDW. We left feeling refreshed and already can't wait to return.

This place really is a gem. The bedroom and bathroom and spacious and have everything you need. The kitchen is small and can be challenging to work in, but the outdoor grill and dining space make up for that. We spent most of our time outside by the private pool relaxing. James and Margie were great hosts. They greeted us upon arrival and were so friendly and warm. They even brought fresh-bakes cookies. We had a great time!

We enjoyed the coziness of the pool house during our Thanksgiving stay. The location was close to our family and friends. It was private and quiet. Alice responded promptly to our questions. We would like to return when the weather is warmer to take advantage of the pool and the outside surroundings. The Goulds
