“In these trying times of restrictive travel, Super Host David has been kind to offer a piece of his studio with an European style patio. It has a spectacular view of The Sound and offers magnificent sunrises. While there are fine restaurants nearby, there is no need to go out. We enjoyed our own private dining overlooking the beautiful scenery. Local restaurants offer take out service, also, the studio has amenities to prepare meals, if you wish. This is beneficial with recent social distancing directives. The studio is immaculately clean and luxurious. Your privacy is strictly respected. Unlike other local accommodations, it is located on the end of a quiet street with minimal traffic, if at all. This is a "KEEPER" for repeat getaways. Thanks David!”

“The cabin was amazing, such an amazing place to go with friends or family. My friends and I had an unforgettable experience. As soon as we arrived we were blown away by how beautiful the cabin and property was. The children playing near by seemed to be having a blast the entire time, and the neighbor and surrounding people showed us amazing hospitality. Not one single bad thing or complaint could be said about this Airbnb. The cabin was bigger than we expected, it was just a nice little break from everyday life. I suggest visiting the lake at night. It looked so beautiful, it was astonishingly quiet and the stars were plentiful and bright. The sweet little doggy that said hi to us while we were fishing from the beach was awesome too, as well as the horse we met. I can go on and on ab how much fun we had and we only stayed 2 nights. I def recommend going for an experience yourself! The host/hosts definitely know how to make you feel comfortable.”

“When it comes to a stay at the Water Forest Retreat, you can expect just that...a total retreat. From the moment Bert led us through the entrance to the woods where the Octagon house was located, we were immediately transported into another realm. The air cooled, the light dimmed, and all we could hear were birds chirping and the rushing of the stream below. the Octagon House was immaculately clean, and had the most beautiful touches from Nancy's pottery and other artwork, including a lit wooden sculpture chandelier above the bed. The panoramic view of the woods left us feeling in awe of the nature around us. It wasn't long before my husband and I decided to trek through the over 2.5 miles of scenic hiking trails on the property. Every so often, we found a cozy bench to sit on while taking in the views (of which there were many!) We couldn't wait to get a fire blazing and enjoy the serenity of the space. The entire area around the Octagon was so grounding (I actually turned my phone off for an entire day!). We cooked over the fire and eventually fell asleep to the sounds of the brook, and local wildlife, from within the comfort of our eight cozy walls. When it was time to check out, we enjoyed a lovely conversation with Bert, and picked up a gorgeous pottery mug and vase from Nancy's "Fire Witch Pottery". I came upon the Water Forest Retreat from a Facebook post, and am so grateful to have had a stay there. I hope that we make it back to the Octagon some time very soon. It was the perfect one night getaway!”
