Family-friendly holiday rentals in Fort Loudoun Lake

Moonshine Hideaway was a cozy, peaceful and beautiful cabin that looked exactly as pictured! While we enjoyed time at the cabin, it was also wonderful to be somewhere that was within a reasonable drive to “civilization” for dining but also for nature. Though we didn’t visit the typical tourist entertainment attractions, they are close by for those who would want to. We stuck to hiking, driving scenic routes and enjoying the beauty of the mountains. We even encountered a bear on our first day hiking to Grotto Falls! Coming back to a hot tub and very comfy bed made the evenings relaxing & enjoyable! We would definitely recommend this location!

This cabin is exactly as described. Private and peaceful. Easy to find GPS took us right to it. Easy entry/exit lock. Very comfy bed ! The road could scare some drivers. It didn’t bother us being from WV. But if curvy back roads scare you at night. This is not for you. We had to call Michael one night. The fire alarm randomly went off he was 100% responsive and took care of it immediately. My ONLY complaint is no ceiling fan in the bedroom. My husband and I are both hot sleepers. However he does have a box fan in the cabin that we used. Our first night we seen a mamma bear and 3 cubs. Second night a coyote. Third and fourth night a bunch of bunny rabbits. I loved this cabin. Out in the mountains with no one around to bother you. You can sit on the porch and actually hear the leaves moving in the wind! Also while siting outside we were able to hear cows mooing! There is a small farm down the hill. We loved listing to the animals in the mornings!

It was incredible! Super cozy and out of the way of any type of bustle. It was calm and quiet, and a great little place to come back to after our outings. Will definitely visit again!

What a beautiful cabin and the view was beyond expectations! Because we were above Dollywood, we got the fireworks and drone show every night. All the amenities that were listed were there and then some. If you want to be in a peaceful quiet setting and yet only minutes from the action, this is the right place.

The only regret I have is not staying longer, it was an absolute beautiful place I love the open windows, amazing views and just a very relaxing stay! Would definitely recommend!

It was beautiful and it looks like there is a lot to do in the area! Susan also provides a lot of fun opportunities if you want to use the equipment. We were just stopping for the night but might stay again some time in the future it was so nice!!

Great place. My family didn’t want to leave. They loved seeing the horses everyday and had a wonderful horse riding experience.

We totally enjoyed staying at Cast Away cabin. The river is very close and easy to get into. Sitting on the large deck and listening to the river is so relaxing. My husband commented on how comfortable the bed was. I would note that the air conditioning was not all that efficient but was acceptable. There was not a hair dryer, which I am pretty sure was mentioned as an accessory they had. For those who may be wondering, the coffee pot is regular ground kind and they have a small coffee bar there with coffee, sugar, etc. We just took our pod coffee maker but I thought the coffee bar was nice. The place is small, as is noted, but is well kept up and cutely decorated. I would recommend for a river getaway, especially if you have a dog who would enjoy the river as much as ours did.

2nd time staying at Mike's. He's a great host with a nice place just outside of downtown Knoxville. His place is clean, comfy and has fast wifi. Mike is super responsive and has your best interest in mind.

We throughly enjoyed our stay. Cute little cabin with some awesome scenery. Very clean and Alan was very responsive to any questions. The community pool/gym was a big hit with the kids and we enjoyed the view at the top of the mountain. This cabin is a wonderful central location. 20 minutes to the Greenbrier entrance of the park, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Definitely would stay again. 10/10

Safe cozy yet accessible cabin in the great smoky mountains. Unbelievably clean space with lots to do inside and out. Great host would stay here again in the future.

This was a great cabin to getaway for a few days. It’s a nice little place to stay, especially for just 4 nights. We’ve stayed in Bear Cove Falls in other cabins with my family before and it was so easy to find this place. Definitely will have to come back to Shady Cove!

We visited for 3 nights and had a nice time! The cabin is a short drive to the main road with lots of restaurants and very easy to get to hiking trails too. The WiFi also worked really well in the cabin during our stay. Our host was always very responsive and helpful as well!

Shastina was a fantastic host! The cabin was incredibly well prepared and clean, with amazing mountain views. Our family loved how the cabin balanced being close to the attractions, centering itself in nature, and providing us with a peaceful environment to unwind after a busy day. Along with the cabin itself, Shastina always had a quick response time whenever we needed anything and helped us.

Matt was super responsive and we loved the place! He provided snacks and some refreshments and it really did feel like home.
