Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Edinburgh Old Town

Had a wonderful stay in Jan’s suite. An amazing use of space with everything you need so well provided for. Lovely quiet neighbourhood & very easy access for busses to the city. Spotlessly clean with lovely fresh decor.

Melissa’s flat has been put together with so much thought, it is stylish, cosy, and comfortable. It is perfectly located to be walkable for all the main sites in Edinburgh and has lots of nice restaurants, coffee shops, and bars nearby (and Melissa provided a guidebook to help find the best spots). Melissa was incredibly accommodating and even arranged an infant cot for us. Would absolutely stay again!

This place was perfect for us! Stockbridge was within walking distance and we found everything with the Mews to be clean and nicely decorated. The books on the bathroom bookshelf were entertaining and it was nice to be able to get a few loads of laundry done on our multi city holiday. Thank you!

This was the most exquisite experience! It was like staying in a magical fairyland. The location is beyond perfect. You can access all the major sites by foot while staying in the heart of Dean Village. The history and the feel of being in this home gave us the ultimate happiness. We cannot recommend staying here enough! Book it!

The village of Colinton is beautiful. The little room I had in Anne Marie’s house was gorgeous, clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Anne Marie was a wonderful host and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Colinton is a wonderfully peaceful place to return to after a busy day exploring the city of Edinburgh. I highly recommend this accommodation 💕🙏🏼

This was one of our favorite AirBnb experiences! The location was perfect (near the tram and bus stops), and since we rented a car for day trips, the garage was an added bonus, not available in many AirBnb’s. Peter’s place was spotless and very comfortable for myself, my husband, and adult daughter. Great shower, very quiet neighborhood. We stayed during a heat wave and were not at all disturbed at night with the windows open. Peter has a large assortment of books about the history of Edinburgh and sightseeing opportunities, and we enjoyed looking through them. We would definitely stay here again!

Great, quiet spot! As the description says, it’s a bit of a walk from the tram and bus stops, mostly up hill. It was lovely to go back to a quiet, cozy space after long days of exploring!

Vianney place is very stylish, practical apartment for a couple or single person. It’s located in a fabulous part of Edinburgh that is quiet and easily accessible to loads of attractions, restaurants, cafes and parkland. Vianney is a really welcoming host who communicates very well and helped make our stay a memorable one.

Absolutely Perfect Stay in the Heart of Edinburgh! This flat couldn’t be in a better location—just steps from the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle. The space itself is fantastic: spacious, beautifully maintained, and truly feels like a home away from home. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches—milk, tea, and cereal were left for us, and the kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable, and having two bathrooms made our stay even more convenient. There was plenty of room to relax after a day of sightseeing. This was honestly one of the best Airbnb stays we’ve ever had. Highly recommend!

Lynne and her flat were wonderful. She was very intentional and responsive with her communication. The flat was comfortable and had everything needed for a lovely stay in Edinburgh. The building has a lot of stairs but felt residential and safe. I would stay again!

Excellent location right on the Grassmarket. Just up some steps to the Royal Mile. A block away from Victoria St. Couldn’t be better located! Very stylishly decorated. Easy to find and enter. One of, if not the best, Air BnBs we have stayed in! Would absolutely recommend!

Excellent location, very easy to walk into town. Very Comfortable bed & linen. Excellent Deli at the end of the road. Great for breakfast. Overall a very pleasant stay.

I highly recommend Anke-Beate's flat. We would definitely return. The location is ideal to get around Edinburgh, it is spacious and even better than the photos. A beautiful apartment and extremely handy to local bars, restaurants and shops, but it is quiet and was perfect for what we needed it for. There were towels and all bed linens supplied. The kitchen was also modern and easy to work in with plenty of pots, bowls and glasses etc. There is a long spiral staircase up to the apartment which could maybe prove impractical for people requiring disability access, however we were aware of this before we arrived and had no issues regarding getting to the apartment. We would like to thank Charlie for this lovely spot and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a handy apartment in the heart of Edinburgh!

The flat is cozy and the location is amazing! It's also wonderfully quiet at night considering it's right on the Royal Mile. The host was super friendly and helpful too and it's literally a 3 minute walk to the train station! For folks on longer trips looking to do laundry, make sure you allow time for your clothes to air dry because the flat's unit is just a washer, not a washer/dryer combination like we initially assumed. A convenient drying rack is provided though so it works fine as long as you give yourself enough time.

This place far exceeded our expectations!!! One of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed out. The comfort of the home is amazing and the decor is fun yet homie, yet the architecture was left to amaze and was well preserved. Felt like home right away. The location was great and was an easy walk to the Royal mile and everything else nearby. If returning to Edinburgh I’m booking here again.

Hey all, it was my first time in Edinburgh and i chose not to stay in old town but in Stockbridge and what a good decision. The area was so beautiful with lots of small shop and restaurants . Sonia and Chris were great hosts and their place was extremely comfortable. I apologise to them for not clearing up the morning breakfast as we were in a rush to leave. The place is cosy yet spacious. Had all necessary amenities. Sonia was very quick in all the responses. The place came comes with a guide to all the places and things to do near by. The place is next to a small but really nice art gallery and i got to buy some art for my home. I would totally stay here again.

Location is absolutely amazing, just steps off the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle and not far from the train station. Unit was clean and well organized. Everything we used in the unit worked great. Communication was excellent, very easy to work with. Thanks for a great stay!
