Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Scotland

What an amazing place! Well worth the journey in, the Isle of Gometra is a beautiful corner of the world, we feel so lucky to have experienced it thanks to Roc and Rhoda's lovely bothy.

Beams Cottage is stunning. The views across the bay are delightful. We spent most mornings sitting outside staring at the sea, the mountains and the little islands. Our 5 1/2 year old son loved looking for boats and birds. Stephanie & Jordan were fabulous hosts and provided helpful info to make our stay smooth. They provided great local recommendations and the house was stocked with lovely design oriented books and magazines about Scotland and Skye. The space itself is comfortable and thoughtfully decorated. The beds were great, the bathrooms well-appointed, the kitchen was fully stocked and there was plenty of room for a group of 3 to 4 to comfortably enjoy the space. Coming back after a day's adventures felt like returning home. Only slight quibble was how bright the loft was in the am. Little kiddos may arise early! The location is gorgeous, but fairly remote to many parts of the island. So be prepared to drive a bit. Happily, the drive to the main road is spectacular.

Great location! What a view, was very fun having the horse and lil pony friend hanging around, good company! The place was well equipt for all cooking and very easy to be in! Would recomend to anyone! Also a great location for lots of day trips!

We cannot say enough about Katie’s cottage! The setting, the cottage and location are perfect! Lovely, welcoming and just spectacular! With a castle ruins right behind you! If we ever make it back to Scotland, this is where you’ll find us!

The Bridge House is a stunning place! It was such a peaceful spot to stay in between Inverness and Edinburgh. And definitely one of the most unique places I’ve stayed!! Mirian was SO friendly and helpful. Thank you for everything!

Really lovely large house in a beautiful setting, perfect for dog walks and with access to the coast. Huge garden with multiple lovely seating areas.

Elizabeth’s place is amazing! Beautiful surroundings right on the ocean with a stream running through the property. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. Communication was great from start to finish.

Georgina’s property is stunning with really beautiful decor and soft furnishings. The house is very spacious and works brilliantly with two families having two big bedrooms both with en-suites. The kitchen is wonderfully equipped with quality fixtures and fittings, we all enjoyed cooking in this lovely space! The drawing room is spacious and comfortable a sofa big enough for four is a rare find! Georgina’s personal touches with fresh flowers in the bedrooms and hallway was lovely, not to mention the fresh milk, bread, orange juice and shortbread /jams etc. Thank you Georgina for all your great recommendations and help we loved our time here and hope to be back!

Just spent three glorious nights at Angela’s place in what was probably the best bed I’ve slept on (my own needs to up its game!) I was in Aberdeen for a yoga course, and the flat was the perfect home-from-home to eat, sleep and relax in. It’s super clean, thoughtfully kitted out (including touched like shower gel, bread, milk and cereal). Great location - 15 or so minutes walk to the beach, similar into town - and a super peaceful complex of flats. Friendly, welcoming and helpful hosts. Cannot recommend highly enough.

The Camus House was 5 stars all around! This place went beyond our expectations. The interior and setting was so cozy, clean, and peaceful. The host went above and beyond with providing fresh breakfast items - so incredibly thoughtful and helpful. A perfect location if you are exploring the causal coast area (car required for this airbnb). Couldn't recommend enough!

We had a fantastic stay! The accommodations were exactly as described, and this was by far the best experience we’ve had with Airbnb. David was an excellent communicator from start to finish, making everything smooth and stress-free. His flat is in a great area—convenient, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed. He even went the extra mile by leaving us some milk and breakfast items, which was such a thoughtful touch. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and David was a dream to work with. Highly recommended!

This was an amazing stay! I wish we could have stayed there for weeks! My entire family was extremely comfortable and loved all the living spaces. Extremely clean and roomy! Had a great stay at the castle. The grounds are amazing

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Martin's place. Martin is a great host, very friendly and helpful. He spend enough time to show us around the flat and cover everything we might need. The location just off Grassmarket is excellent for someone wanting to experience Edinburgh as it is very close to the Castle, Old Town, Princes Street and the Meadows. At the same time it was very quiet even while being that central. We'd definitely recommend and look to return.

What can we say that has not already been said about Pam’s place it is amazing, the view is on of the best we have ever had and the property it’s self is outstanding. Every thing you could possibly need for a home away from home.

We loved our stay at Cobbler View. The setting was beautiful and such a lovely place to come back to after a day exploring. The accommodation was clean and cosy and very well equipped. Carol and Don were excellent hosts and welcomed us on arrival but left us to enjoy our stay. We knew they were available if we needed them. Thank you!

This is a lovely place to stay with amazing views over the water. It was spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. We were able to park outside no problem and took a bus in to Dundee for the day- there is a bus stop on the street. Would love to come back on a sunny day and sit outside in the garden and look out to the water. There are a lot of steps to the property and in the back garden so probably would not be ideal for anyone with mobility issues but for us it was great.

Had a fantastic stay. The view from the apartment has got to be seen to fully appreciate it. Could have sat at the bay window all day and night. Lovely big bedrooms and living room. First time in Oban and will definitely be back to stay in James’s apartment.

Colin's house was exactly as described and really met our needs while visiting the Moray area. We had easy access to the local area and its attractions. We woke relaxed and refreshed each morning and the house was well appointed and carefully looked after. Colin was friendly and a very proactive host and had everything ready for our visit.

Both Linda and George were excellent hosts. Friendly, well predisposed, in short: excellent. As for the property, it is very comfortable and pleasant, and it brings a lot of peace to those who stay there. I would definitely visit them again!

The Butler's Basement is one of my top 3 Airbnbs. The space was fabulous, the area superb to local attractions, and transportation and restaurant options plentiful. I immediately felt at home, thanks to Gemma and James-Lachlan. My travel ans hit a snafu and they couldn't have been more accommodating. I will definitely be back soon!

Jill is a wonderful host. Such a lovely place and we felt very welcomed and cared for. Woodside is a very interesting house to stay in. The views are amazing and the house is spacious and very well equipped. Jill is very thoughtful host who goes the extra mile in providing really nice snacks. Cove is a very relaxing and peaceful place to stay. We really didn’t want to leave! Thanks so much Jill!

One of the most, (if not the most), beautifully located places we’ve ever stayed. The house was spotless and well-equipped with amenities. Rosie was a brilliant host and quick to respond whenever we needed anything. I'm so glad we decided here rather than staying in the town, which we were at first considering. Can't recommend this place enough!
