Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Edinburgh

Great and clean house approximately 40 min. away from the city center. We were with the 4 of us and 2 of us had to sleep in the living room, but if you're not home that much that is not a problem at all. The neighbourhood was nice and quiet, and despite it not being close by any of the main tourist attractions of the city, the public transport to and from the city was relatively fast. The hosts were nice and easy to communicate with. Overall, a great place to stay! Would definitely recommend :)

Melissa’s place is amazing. 5 stars! There are a lot of wow characters in her place. The place is huge for just the two of us. The kitchen is spotlessly clean. It had everything we needed. The room is very comfortable and warm. We did not have to use public transport at all to get to all of the tourist spots. It is close to lots of the main sight seeing spots. Very convenient. Melissa is very friendly and helpful. She is very proactively with her communication. We supposed to contact her before we arrive but I did not read the instructions. She contacted us and sorted things. We only stay 2 days in Edinburgh, which we could stay for longer! Would stay in Melissa’s place again! Highly recommend it!

What a fantastic place to stay and an excellent base for exploring Edinburgh and the borders. My family and I had an amazing time in the beautiful South Lodge. It is as listed and shown in the photos - highly recommend!

We had the best time! The accommodation is beautifully designed and had everything you need. Just a short walk from Stockbridge which had loads of bars, cafes and restaurants to try.

Beautifully renovated and spacious property. Great home base for visiting mid and east Lothian. Very quiet surroundings and between rooms. Highly recommend for friend groups or families. Daniela is a very attentive hostess. Only downside- could only find 1 hair dryer and utility knives were dull.

The apartment was perfect for the two of us. It was about a 10 minute walk to the tram and about the same to Old Town. Shops and restaurants were just around the corner. The apartment was clean, and there was bread on the counter and milk in the fridge when we arrived. The aparment is upstairs, so you do have to go up a flight of stairs. It was a delightful place in the heart of Edinburgh!

The Garden Cottage was everything we hoped for and more. The location was very convenient to Stockbridge and all of its restaurants and shops. There are numerous bus stops within 10-20 mins walk to grab a quick bus up the hill into New Town, across Princes Gardens into Old Town, or even for easy day trips like to Rosslyn Chapel or Portobello. Victoria was a very accommodating host and easy to work with. The cottage had plenty of space, was very well equipped for self-catering, and was stocked with all the basics you need (e.g., coffee, tea, sugar, etc.). Having a washer and dryer (as well as a drying rack) was a luxury we’ve rarely seen in the UK or Europe.

This is the second time we have stayed at Marie’s, the accommodation is wonderful and very clean, it’s one of the best Airbnb’s we have rented. Marie is a lovely host, very accommodating and great at responding when I had a couple of questions. The extra touches such as milk in the fridge on arrival along with snacks and drinks are really thoughtful and appreciated. The accommodation was ideal for 4 Adults and 1 child and I really hope we can stay here next time we visit Edinburgh.

Convenient location with ample space (and cutely decorated)! We either walked or took the bus to places, and found nearby shops and wine bars very accessible. The apartment is perfect for the two of us on our honeymoon; super solid and lovely.

We had a great stay! This location is the perfect home base for getting a little away from all the hustle and bustle of old town. It is located right in Stockbridge where there are TONS of cute charity shops, restaurants, and cafes. The bed was very comfortable, and the whole place felt very clean. The neighbors we ran into among the complex were welcoming and friendly.

We had such a lovely time at Ann’s flat. The view of the castle was absolutely breathtaking, and Ann offered wonderful recommendations of places to eat. It was an absolute joy staying here! The flat was a 10/10 and the host was a 10/10 as well! We couldn’t have had a better stay!! Thanks, Ann!

It was a great experience. Amanda’s place is beautiful, with modern furnishings and an amazing view. The location is very central, yet it was still peaceful and quiet. We stayed there with our baby, and she had no trouble sleeping. The bed was large and very comfortable. The kitchen had everything you might need. It truly felt like home. I couldn’t recommend it more.

Fantastic apartment - will absolutely be back. Our time in Edinburgh was short but with the central location of Fleur's apartment and her quick and concise communication helped us maximize our time in town. And do not miss out on the chance to stop by Fleur's coffee booth!

We really enjoyed our stay! Everything was very convenient for us...within a 5-10 minute walk for just about everything. The apartment was clean and Angus communicated with us in a friendly and professional manner. Would love to come again and visit!

We stayed the last four nights of our stay in Scotland at Lorne and Frank’s place and it was a great way to finish off our trip. Their home was absolutely gorgeous and they were great hosts. The one thing that my wife and I commented on over and over again was how comfy the bed was. We loved our stay in Stockbridge which is such a lovely and vibrant neighbourhood and this unit was such a great home base for all our adventurers. There are lots of pubs, restaurants and shopping nearby and city centre is very walkable from this location. There are also lots of bus stops you can walk to quickly to get you to just about anywhere you want to go.

Great location! Peaceful, but less than one block away from restaurants, pubs, and shopping. Amazing views of the castle! Parking garage right next door. Extremely clean, modern furnishings, place has everything you need for a lovely trip to the city. Highly recommend!

A lovely, clean and stylish apt, located a 15 min walk to the National Library and Old Town. Thoughtfully put together and maintained. Toby was kind and attentive. Have already recommended this place to others!

A super, well equipped, quiet and very comfortable apartment in great location. We only used for a single night to watch a show at the Playhouse but it would also be great for longer stays.

We loved Emma's place. Beautifull apartment, peaceful, quiet and comfortable. We felt at home straight away. It's in a great location and we loved exploring Stockbridge and it's pubs and restaurants. Our first trip to Edinburgh, found this AirBnB location was excellent! Easy to navigate the city.. We were able to walk to many sites and enjoy the city. Once back to the AirBnB, we could take a break and rest. Very comfortable apartment. Very good communications with the host and found that the host went out of their way to accommodate our needs. We will come back and stay again when in Edinburgh...

Wonderful experience from booking to check out. Michelle was super responsive during the entire process and was even there to greet us upon arrival. The flat itself was absolutely lovely and the location was great. The surrounding neighborhood had ample restaurants, coffee shops, and bars (Michelle provided some great recommendations). The flat was also walkable to all the popular sights but still quiet and relaxing. Traveled through Europe for 12 days and this was our favorite spot :) highly recommend!

This was our first time in Edinburgh and Chris and Sonia’s was the perfect place to stay! We loved that this location allowed us to walk everywhere. Additionally, Chris and Sonia created an extremely helpful guide of everything you could possibly need (food, attractions, instructions on how to access everything, maps on the city, etc.) and were always communicative.
