Monthly Rentals in Acres Grove

A traditional Irish cottage, beautifully appointed. Suitable for two couples as the two double bedrooms both have ensuite shower rooms, with a downstairs lavatory also available. Newport is a characterful village (the inhabitants call it a town) and the public house next door has a welcoming landlord, good food and friendly locals. There are four or five other public houses in Newport, which we didn't have time to visit over a two night stay. We enjoyed our short visit to Mayo, and could have spent more time there. Waterfront cottage is well situated, extremely well kept and comfortably homely.

Heidi's place was perfect for our stay in Newport. She was very accommodating to requests. We'll be back to stay again when we're visiting Newport again.

From the moment we entered the house and walked into the gorgeous back garden, we fell in love with this special place. Rachel is an exceptional hostess and soon we felt like dear friends rather than simply house guests. She responded quickly to questions and asked if there was anything that we needed to make our stay more comfortable. So many thoughtful touches --- fresh bread, tea and milk in the kitchen, and books, Netflix, and a turntable with vintage vinyls for entertainment. Each room was super clean, and the bed was so comfortable! We relied on bikes and bus so the Stone House was a perfect location with an easy walk to town and the Burrishole Community Center, where we played pickleball with the friendly members of the Newport Pickleball Club. We biked the nearby Greenway to Achill Sound, Burrishole Abbey, and Wild Nephin National Park. We already are planning another trip to Newport and there is no place we’d rather stay than Rachel’s Stone House.

Absolutely beautiful unit. Tastefully decorated and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen. Great information folder, and lovely welcome package. Catherine is a great communicator and I highly recommend her accommodation.
