We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely little cottage. The attention to detail and the welcome pack made us feel at home straight away. Even the dog was included with a blanket and water bowl. It’s in an excellent location to explore Hadrian’s Wall and the Roman forts, as well as Corbridge and Hexham, both worth a visit. These are only a short drive away from the village of Wall itself, which is very picturesque and peaceful. All in all we had a great break in a great place.

We wanted a countryside location and enjoyed walking to Corbridge as well as travelling to local sites near Hadrian’s Wall. The Annex was a great base, and we managed to cook in the alcove discreetly fitted within the living room. Sonja and John gave recommendations for routes, pubs and hidden gems such as Allen Banks and Steel Rigg car park. Sitting in their garden was great too, as was the welcome pack for our arrival. our first Airbnb experience! Everything you could want was at the property- everything you could forget too, from butter to a range of toiletries - jams, fruit - you name it was there. It was a great stay. Janet and Rob were very friendly and Jasper (the cat) just so welcoming - perfect stay, a real home from home. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

We stayed here for 2 nights with our 11 year old grandson to show him Hadrian’s Wall. John and Claire are delightful hosts who made us feel very welcome, giving good advice on where to eat and walk the dogs along the river. The flat, independently situated within a part of their lovely house itself (but with own entrance) is light and airy, decorated in excellent taste with very comfortable beds with good linen. The starter 'breakfast pack' was much appreciated; Claire and John make their own jams , marmalade and honey. We enjoyed use of the pretty summer house in the extensive garden to sit out in the evening sun and admire the planting. As former B and B hosts ourselves, we appreciate what goes in to make guests feel at home but most importantly, enjoy the hosting experience. This is a new corner of Northumberland for us to discover and we would very much like to return to enjoy the area.
