#Depot - Grassy Creek Cabooses

KayRating, 5 stars3 months ago
This is the second time that we have stayed with Donnie. The first time was in one of the cabooses. This time we stayed in The Depot. Both of these places were as described and pictured! I had good enough phone service that we did not miss having WiFi and there was cable for television. I had two children with me, an eight year old and a twelve year old, and they were both fine there! And we could look out the front door and see Buffalo Mountain. Because of Hurricane Helene damage, we did not get to go there but it was not for lack of trying! Sunday morning before we left, I got to see a deer in the pasture behind the depot! And some beautiful sunrises!

#042 - Grassy Creek Cabooses

MistyRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We wanted to do something unique & different for our anniversary & this did NOT disappoint. From the “main” road you can see the 3 red cabooses up on the hill & our hearts smiled. They recently had storms & we could see where the flood waters deteriorated the sides of the driveway but it was still wide enough for us to pass another small vehicle if needed. Office Check in was a breeze and took less than five mins before we were standing in our getaway train(caboose) which is on a real track! We were the only ones staying this weekend but if others were present, there was plenty of room. Our furbabies throughly enjoyed having a large field in front of the cabooses to run in. The views from the swings were breathtaking especially during the sunsets. Once Inside, we enjoyed the comforts of home (except for a stove). The hotness of the water & the relaxing hot tub added to our experience. Some things were dated but that is to come with the territory. We hope to visit again in the fall.

The Hocking Hills Caboose

NicoleRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Clean! Smelled great too. Geat distance (within 10min) to hiking (Ash Cave) in one direction and then a pizzeria with all kinds of drinks and snacks in the other. On a fairly traveled road in front, but also a great small space to explore right behind and firepit. Well kept! It was great for our young family. Very fun.

The Apple Ridge caboose experience is perfect for anyone who loves the outdoors, peace, and animal sightings! We saw deer, turkeys, 3 huge Pileated Woodpeckers, and other birds. Grounds are beautiful and the staff was friendly! We’ll be back yearly.

Chessie Rails - Caboose w/HotTuB

KirstenRating, 5 stars2 days ago
What a wonderful place to get away and enjoy the beauty of nature. The fields, the flowers, the fireflies, and the cows made the experience! The setting was so beautiful and well thought out, and the caboose was renovated perfectly. Deb was such a wonderful host and the fresh eggs, bread, and smores kit was an extra special surprise. Thank you so much for such a wonderful experience!

Sleeper Train Car on the River! 100 acres!

HillaryRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Exceeded expectations! Our family had a great time in May and will definitely go back for a fall trip too. All of the features and details inside the train were so neat. The den / kitchen area was more spacious than I expected. I was afraid it may feel a little claustrophobic but it didn't at all. The specific local recommendations provided were great. We have small children and weren't able to utilize the river much as there isn't flat / cleared ground beside it and the water was moving pretty rapidly during our stay, but we still had lots to do without the river. Definitely worth visiting!!

The place looks just like the pictures. We had the whole place to ourselves which made it a very unique experience. The railroad car with surprisingly quite for being under the highway and the beds were comfy. A great place to stay if you want to talk to the stadium. Thank you Mykas for hosting us and we will be back.

Stay in a Caboose! | HOT TUB | Close to Asheville

MehlamRating, 5 stars6 days ago
We had a unique, charming and a cozy stay at the Caboose with our 6 year old. The large fenced in backyard allowed plenty of space to spread out and was stocked with several backyard games. The interior was immaculate with everything well thought out. The large bathroom was a nice addition as well. The location allowed for easy visits to the city as well to waterfall country. There's also a great operating manual I'd recommend reading through to make the most of your stay. Looking forward to visiting again on our next trip to the area.

This place exceeded all my expectations. It was spotless, conveniently located, and I loved the sound of trains passing by. The check-in process was effortless, and the check-out instructions were clear. Finding an Airbnb this great is rare, and I’ll definitely be requesting to stay here again.

The Hamilton: A Lux 1920s Train Car Near Santa Fe

BradandJenRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
This was a very unique stay! Even though it is tight quarters there was actually ample room for 6 of us and storage. The beds were comfy and lots of fun details. Kitchen was functional for small meal prep. The oven wasn’t working while we were there, but we made due and were still able to prep meals. Having three full baths in such a small space was a luxury! The outside seating was great, and plenty of room to relax after sight seeing!

Train Wreck Inn - The Blue Train Car

JulieRating, 5 stars1 week ago
The Train Depot was so much fun! We stayed in the unique Blue Car, and we were thrilled with the many train artifacts scattered around the car. The lodging was clean, well kept, with lovely landscape and a patio area to sit or visit with others. The town of Grand Coteau has many excellent eateries and shops. We traveled 15-30 minutes away to visit neighboring towns as well. Our experience is one we definitely would suggest to others.

Caboose 1430

RaganRating, 5 stars3 days ago
Place was clean, easy check in, doesn’t require much to much out. Accurately described, beds were clean, plenty of towels and wash cloths. Ac unit on both ends to keep everyone happy. Not a normal Airbnb, it’s definitely unique being a caboose, it rained on us and it was peaceful hearing it on the metal roof. I’d recommend if you had kids or don’t need a huge place to stay. I stayed for work and had plenty room.

Movie-Famous Train Car: Walk to Polar Express

RachelRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Very unique, comfortable stay, and exactly as described. Convenient/walkable to Bryson City attractions, and easy drive to Deep Creek and Nantahala river, which we visited during our stay. The beds were comfortable, A/C was working well. Great view from the deck. Would not recommend the top bunks for small children but the bottom bunk worked fine for our 7 year old. There were many books and games for kids which were a nice touch. We would stay here again if we were on the area.

EricRating, 5 starstoday
Absolutely wonderful experience! The caboose-apartment was an amazing place on its own, and the host stocked it to the brim with coffee and snacks. Add to that the fact that it’s on a farm with horses and donkeys and you’ve really got a memorable place to stay. Hope I’ll be able to return!

Fully Converted 1930s Rail Car

DeandraRating, 5 stars5 days ago
I can not praise this stay enough! The hosts were incredibly sweet and helpful. The stay itself was so cool! The train car was immaculately renovated. The decor was super cute and all throughout the train there was historical information and relics. Definitely a train enthusiasts dream! The place was also impressively clean. Complimentary snacks, assorted beverages and breakfast! That's something I've never encountered before and very much appreciated. I have stayed in many airbnbs, this is by far one of the best! Highly recommend.

Red Rock Caboose! Studio Near Top Spots & BBQ & Sc

EddieRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Private, cozy little space. Definitely a unique experience. It was close enough to the downtown area and multiple shops but secluded enough that there wasn't much foot traffic in the area. Fairly close to I-25 which made my morning commutes bearable. Would definitely consider staying here again. Thank you for hosting me.
