Holiday rentals with lake access in South Side

Great location, close to all the action but just far enough to be peaceful. We loved having the back deck to sit outside and relax before a night out. I would absolutely recommend this location for a weekend or even longer.

Jon was an extremely responsive and helpful host, and this home was perfect for our entire family (including our dogs)! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely look to book this home again when we come back to the area.

This house was just as described on the website. It was in a great location. The house is beautiful and clean. Walking distance to Wrigley, many restaurants and also the train. We really enjoyed our stay.

Very comfy apartment in a great neighborhood. We were in town for a baseball game and it’s a terrific place for that, just about a 20-minute walk to Wrigley Field. The only thing to be concerned about is the stairs: there are two flights to get into the apartment and they’re fairly steep and small, so if you have mobility issues that would be a concern. I don’t and had no problem. Karen is a lovely host and was very helpful when I was getting into the place and unloading my stuff from my car. There are tons of restaurants and coffee shops in the area, so it’s a great place to explore and hang out.

Kirsten provided everything we needed. She was able to provide a crib, high chair, books, toys and bath toys for our grandchildren, which was very helpful. The park across the street was so much fun for the kids. The place was very clean and the kitchen was stocked with everything that could possibly be needed. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in the Evanston, IL area.

My husband and I stayed at Irene’s place for a weekend get away. The apartment was easy to access and on a very private street. Irena is friendly and responds quickly. As stated in her post, it really was a 3 minute walk to the beach. We were provided with extra towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There is a private patio and beach towels provided, but you need to grab your own firewood. We had a concert in Chicago and it was only a 30-40min drive to Solider Field, Navy Pier and Shedd Aquarium. This place was a gem and a romantic destination, we will definitely book again!

From booking to check out Wendy and Matt communicated with me every step of the way. Very responsive, helpful, and friendly. The Airbnb is just as described and is absolutely beautiful, but also comfortable and homey. They have thought of everything. My husband and I both had to work some and the desk set up with extra large monitors was the best surprise! The location is perfect-walkable to some really fun restaurants. We went to Happy Camper, Small Cheval, and Mr. Gyros. The red line is right around the corner and we felt very safe walking the neighborhood after dark. You will meet many people on the street with friendly dogs :) The ability to park our car off the street was also one of the best perks of this place! Our family couldn’t have picked a better place to spend our time in Chicago. Thank you Matt and Wendy!

Spacious and well appointed with everything we needed to feel right at home. Good quality linens and furnishings, thick toilet paper and exactly as the photos showed. VERY walkable. We walked to the river/lake everyday and enjoyed boat tours, the theatre and sightseeing. It is a very urban stay so there is a lot of city noise, that’s not a critique, just the reality of staying in a large city.

Good alternative to staying in Chicago for a big concert in the city.

I had a fantasic stay at this Airbnb! The space was clean, cozy, and exactly as described. The host was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making our visit smooth from start to finish. We also loved and appreciated the attention to detail of having all the essentials for a perfect stay. The location was great and close to where we wanted to go, but still quiet and peaceful. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable and hassle-free stay!

Patrick’s place is a rare find. Extraordinary Airbnb! It’s the most thoughtfully supplied kitchen. We enjoyed cooking brunch looking out on the park trails. We were lucky with perfect weather, which added to the loveliness. I know the area, to me the location is perfect…especially if you like long pretty walks. We had a fantastic stay! Super close to the Lake, which is just what we wanted. House looked exactly as pictured. Most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Overall, a great experience.

*sniffles* I’m so sad to go, really. Five stars all around. Cozy. Clean. Quiet. All previous visitors have left accurate descriptions of this place so I will describe what I enjoyed the most; The water pressure in the basement shower!? I have a similar shower head in the mail now on it’s way to me. All I want is to mimic the sensation I first felt when it blasted every granule of sand off of my body and out of my HAIR. THE KITCHEN is fully kitted and set up intuitively. If you know your way around a kitchen- then the gold finch kitchen will feel like YOURS. I’m also eyeing all stainless steel cookware, now. Thanks Heidi. I’m not a pampered chef by any means, so I was grateful to have access to it all. Heidi had everything we needed to get a fire started and keep it going. The outdoor area outback is private and nestled in all the new growth from the spring. I 100% suggest you visit the Clutch bagel spot. The scratch cream cheese was divine. Caribbean roots: MUST TRY

This 3 story home with a large room overlooking a lagoon provided our family with an enjoyable Christmas holiday. There were 3 bedrooms on the ground floor, 1 off the kitchen and 1 upstairs. There was also a bed in the front room and a stone fireplace in the front room.

Great place for a large group of people! Although it is surrounded by other homes, the trees behind the property give it a very private feel. It is a quick walk to the beach which is very convenient. All of the neighbors were very kind to our group as we walked around. We tried out the New Mexican restaurant down the street and it was delicious. This was one of Sylwia’s recommendations. She did a great job of giving us a list of things to do around the area before we arrived. There’s 2 train stations very close, which we utilized to get to Chicago. It was about an hour trip and very convenient to get the Portage/Ogden Dunes Station from the Airbnb. We were a little worried about the location considering Gary does not have the best reputation, but it was closer to Portage, and in a very safe area. We never once felt unsafe. All in all, Sylwia was great, the Airbnb was great, and I would recommend her listing!!

This place is a great getaway. If your looking for a place in Miller Beach area and want to see copious amounts of varying wildlife just hanging around then this spot is just what your looking for. The host Blake is very responsive and respectful. I stayed for over a week with my dog and he didn’t want to leave. You won’t either.
