Alba was the perfect host and looked after us so very well. Of note: the Calabrian eggs for breakfast were delicious. The balcony area was the perfect place to relax and enjoy watching the ocean life of Scilla.

Filippo’s home I Scilla is perfectly located atop the very middle of the town between the beach side and fishing village side- with the upper part just above you. It’s a bit of a climb, but this allows a gorgeous view of the sea and coastline below. You are also close to everything you could want to do. There is a lovely balcony outside the door, which that view, and is perfect for taking a break with coffee or a drink in the afternoon or evening. The bathroom is very nice and modern. Main bedroom is nice and big with a comfy bed. The kitchen is medium sized, with enough space to cook if you want to. The town was a real favorite for us. We spent 2 days at the beach at our favorite lido- so easy and relaxing. The fishing village has some real gems, including a natural wine bar with the friendliest owner and a wine/food bar next door to the natural one, that was absolutely delicious. There are many restaurants with dining areas literally on the water, which was very different and fun

It almost refuses me to write a review because I already became a very happy part of it in a month. If you read all the descriptions, you have a very accurate picture of what to expect . ( It's nicer than the photos!) An almost absurdly large 360-degree terrace allows you to merge with the sea and with the magical Aspromonte mountain massif; which would not be enough to explore for 1 year. The hospitality of Saverios and his whole family cannot be exceeded ; You are invited to become a friend of yours to the place.. In addition, the location is perfect for exploring the entire south of the , I may say ; true Italy and that away from the big tourist crowds ! Carmela's place was the most modern and spacious place we have stayed at in Southern Italy. It is a mere steps away from the sea, at the bottom of the cliffs, along a cobblestone paved street. The unit has the modern comforts of a more commercial lodging accommodation, but is in a fantastic location in Scilla. Carmela was extremely helpful in guiding us to find parking so we didn't have to pay for parking and didn't drive directly to the unit on very narrow streets. Carmela had some snacks and a bottle of water waiting for us, which was a nice touch. We only had 1 night in Scilla, which we regretted as this charming village deserved at least another night.
