The home was absolutely lovely! Warm, welcoming, and beautiful location. We had a few adjustments in our schedule and Jenna worked with us! We plan to stay here again when we visit the area.

The description/pictures totally matched what you got. What you don’t see visually from pictures but experience is a very clean apartment (in a beautiful neighborhood) along with little details such as noise makers, extra toiletries for emergencies (in case you forgot to bring like a toothbrush, etc) These little touches show that the host cares about you having a comfortable stay. I checked in Dec 28 still present its almost 4 months now me and my family had stay here do to renovations of our home. We were only expecting to stay 30 days, but it didn’t turn out that way I had to keep extending it, I wanted to say thank you so much for letting us stay it was nice and clean. The neighborhood is quiet. I really really enjoyed the peaceful area being here and I just wanted to thank them because I needed a place to stay short term and they were there for me I took care of their property the best I could while I was there I just want to say thank you they are good people to rent from

Their home was amazing, it was clean, exquisitely put together and very proactive approach from the owners as far as my stay during my business trip. they went outside their way to make sure I felt comfortable and hospitable during my stay. I would definitely recommend them in the future and definitely on my trips back to Salem.

Very modern interior with a peaceful deck overlooking the lake. Extremely accommodating host (we were traveling with an infant). Place has everything you could need (cookware, utensils, tea/coffee, etc.) - would recommend :)

Lovely vintage home, well cared for. Inside, everything is neat, orderly, and clean. It is a safe neighborhood with quiet laughter from neighbors enjoying the spring evenings. There is a lovely front porch with nice furniture, flowers blooming, and families walking to the school a block away in the mornings. Roanoke Co-Op, a block away, had all the groceries I needed. I visited Scratch Biscuits for breakfast. Overall, it is a wonderful house in a wonderful location. When I contacted Jennifer, the manager, she always responded immediately and graciously. I highly recommend this house!

Traci and manager Sophia were super responsive to requests and texts. The place was very clean and as advertised. The location is walkable to the marina and a quick drive to other restaurants, state park, and grocery. We would definitely book again.

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Susan and Tom’s Airbnb for over a year, and I can confidently say this has been the best Airbnb experience I’ve ever had. From day one, they welcomed me with warmth and kindness, creating a true home away from home. Susan is an incredible host and a fantastic cook—her muffins, scones, and soups are absolutely delicious and something I’ll always remember fondly. She frequently invited me for dinners that were not only delicious but filled with wonderful conversations and laughter. Tom is equally wonderful—he’s someone I genuinely enjoyed spending time with. We had countless engaging chats, and his company was always thoughtful, interesting, and uplifting. He’s truly great to be around and made my stay all the more enjoyable. More than just hosts, Susan and Tom became like family. If you’re considering a stay here, don’t hesitate—this is a rare gem of a place with two of the most wonderful hosts you could ever meet.

Andrew was proactive in checking on me! His place was very clean and had all of the amenities listed. The locals were very nice people, and the lake was amazing. I recommend everyone book with Andrew!

We absolutely loved our stay at The Highland Homeplace! Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, the 2-bedroom upstairs apartment was perfect for us and our sweet dog. The charm and coziness of the space made us feel right at home. We particularly enjoyed the private deck, where we had our morning coffee, and our dog adored the fenced backyard, allowing him to run freely. On top of all that, our host was incredibly accommodating and had thoughtfully considered every little thing we might need during our stay. We highly recommend The Highland Homeplace and will definitely be back!

This was an exceptional experience for my husband and I. Michelle was wonderful, informative and kind. We had not one issue the 3 nights we stayed. The view is amazing and this condo has everything you need to cook with, make coffee, and more. Super grateful for this experience at smith mountain Lake.

We had a wonderful stay while in for a wedding. The cottage is so cute and homey. It has everything you need for a great stay plus some thoughtful extras. I must also say the beds are so comfortable and the hot tub was a great way to end our days. Highly recommend staying here.

A great little place to stay at Smith Mountain Lake. My husband and I stayed for Memorial Day weekend and it was the perfect location to the state park. We were very comfortable and the bed was great! We also had a cold rainy day so we took advantage of the indoor pool and hot tub. Will definitely stay here again!

The scenery was just beautiful. So quiet and peaceful. They thought of everything I would ever need here. (Bath bombs, hair dryer, shampoos) A wonderful get away space.

We love Peggy’s place. The view is wonderful, and everything well apportioned. This is our second stay and would gladly visit again.

My wife and I enjoyed a quick anniversary trip here and we were 10/10 pleased! The room was clean, comfy and had everything we needed. The location is amazing, from the view to the convenience of the pool, and dining. We were even able to rent a boat on site which was very convenient. Overall we had such a fun and relaxing time, and Susan was very easy to work with!

A beautiful rental with easy access to everything within the grounds; restaurant, boating, golfing, swimming… Very private location and amazing view, including firework show. Highly recommend this comfortable condo!
