Farmstay holiday rentals in Rappahannock River

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin! This property was incredible, so beautiful and peaceful. The cabin itself is very cool and in great condition albeit rustic. The only shower is an outdoor shower, which was warm and serene. That’s the kind of unique quirk of rental that makes the experience extra memorable. There are tons of sitting areas outside from the swing on the covered porch to the area around the sunken fire pit, all which overlook the large field on the property and the horse field at the adjacent property. Another perk was that it was dog-friendly as we had our two dogs with us, who loved the property as well. Overall, such a great experience at Judith’s place and I recommend to anyone coming into the area who is looking to disconnect and relax!

Amazing old farmhouse with plenty of space and amenities and close to Culpeper or Warrenton. Recommend for any vacation stay!

Douglas was a fantastic host. He was extremely responsive and accommodating, and his property was beyond gorgeous. We will absolutely be staying here again!

A beautiful unwind with chirping birds at sunset and so many friendly animals from cats, dogs, horses and mini dunkeys. A time capsule where internet and hyper connected life was not a thing. I really enjoyed the secluded and this private beautiful cabin, from the delicious breakfast to stunning sunrises. I was a bit concerned to find bugs as we are immersed in nature and close to the woods, and I was relieved to be able to sleep soundly and wake up with no bugs, thanks to the very clean place🙌. I recommend to anyone who love glamping and can live few days without a wifi and the comfort o an in-suite room. Thank you Robin for all your attention and care!

What a beautiful place! My husband and I stayed here with my mother in law for two nights and all three of us enjoyed it very much. The entire space was clean and decorated so cute. The treats Heidi left us were so yummy and were delicious after our day out. The views from the backyard were beautiful and so nice to wake up to every morning! I would definitely stay here again.

Thoroughly enjoyed my return visit to Patricia’s gem of a cottage. In my experience, it is rare to find a beautifully crafted and cared for cottage in a gorgeous wooded setting just 10 minutes from civilization. Also, and importantly, Patricia herself is a generous, joyful host; and her hen house with exotic chickens, and meandering grounds are a delight to explore.

Had a lovely stay at Pat and Nell’s. Was able to work in the mornings and take advantage of beautiful outdoors and access to the water from the dock. Highly recommend! Is a quiet, peaceful, clean, comfortable place to stay while adventuring in St Mary’s county.

We had a wonderful stay at Joy’s home! The location is absolutely beautiful, and while you may feel off in the woods, you are easily able to get back into Madison or Culpeper. There were so many thoughtful amenities like extras for your pup, well-labeled kitchen cabinets, and even a few bedtime stories for kids. The covered walkway to the grill meant we could enjoy the rainstorm while finishing dinner all nice and cozy. We recommend this home hands down for a family that needs some space for all members to have a great experience!

We were a combined bunch of 8 adults and a 3 yr old. We had an incredible time, despite having a week of mostly rainy weather. There is plenty to do in the house and it is very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with small appliances and utensils. The house is kid-friendly and has all you need to entertain the kids and accommodate toddlers. The location is quiet and secluded, but close enough to a variety of attractions to keep you busy in good weather. We had a precious time and were sad to leave. Jenny was very communicative and responsive. She provided us with all the details we needed to enjoy the stay.

My husband and I had a quiet weekend in The Plains and absolutely loved staying at Elizabeth's cottage! The cottage has exquisite furniture, cozy bedding and all the right touches to feel at home. I loved sipping coffee and watching the horses grazing in the pasture. Elizabeth and her family were so friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed walking to town for dinner and shopping. I can't wait to return to explore more of the area.

Loved this air bnb, one of my favorites. It’s a quiet place. Nice farm setting. You feel safe on the property. Clean and nice comfortable bed. Allows pets, which is a must for me. A few downsides. There’s a flight of stairs getting up to the living area. So if you have a lot of luggage, it makes it difficult. The pathway is also gravel, so pulling a cart behind to the entrance can also take some effort. Other than that, no big issues. Again, one of my favorite places!!

The tiny home was clean and beautiful with everything we needed and more - there was a beautiful cedar hot tub, fire pit, and floor to ceiling windows. The tiny home overlooks acres of tall grass fields streaked with curving, mowed trails framed by the creek with the Shenandoah mountains in the background. It’s a perfect place to stargaze. Pick your own vegetables and eggs were a huge highlight. Zachary was such a genuine, affable host. He had great hiking recommendations and knew so much about the area. It’s clear that he loves his chickens and the beautiful space he’s cultivated.

We loved the experience from booking to check-out. The setting exceeded our expectations. Peaceful and beautiful landscape. Easy to launch kayaks. Chickens were an added bonus. Appreciated the close proximity of Blackwater. Would love to return.

We had a great stay, and I would call Cynthia the ultimate host. She was thoughtful and generous, and her home was adorable and comfortable. It was a great location. Loved all the history provided about the place.

We stayed at the cabin for the weekend and absolutely loved it! It was the perfect place for peace and privacy. We really enjoyed our stay—especially the view, it was sooo beautiful!

This was the perfect weekend getaway! Deena and Hearst were so hospitable and friendly. Their property and the apartment is beautiful and very peaceful. Deena really made sure to think of everything one would need in the apartment. My little boy had a blast! He loved the pool, helping feed the animals and ride the pony. I can't wait to come back again!

Christina's place was amazing. We enjoyed getting to interact with all the animals, especially Luna the dog and Cupcake the most friendly turkey! Our daughter loved playing with Piper and especially loved the zip line and the pool. The accommodations were comfortable and we even got to enjoy farm fresh eggs. We would definitely stay again if we are in the area. Thank you!

Scott and Melinda's place was perfect for a peaceful getaway for our family of 5. The water was so nice to wake up to and fall asleep hearing the water move by! The thought of all the basic needs and had everything easily accessible from fresh eggs from their chickens, a great variety of coffee pods and creamer, and all the other small needs that come up while staying in an airbnb. This was great since it is off the beaten path. If you are looking for some peaceful family time or a secluded retreat with friends, this is a perfect place!

We had a really nice stay at the Rose Retreat! The home is wonderfully appointed with nice furnishings. We especially appreciated the well stocked kitchen with upscale drink and dinnerware. The hand written welcome note, bottle of wine and snacks were so thoughtful - thank you! A perfect location from which to enjoy Irvington and the surrounding towns. We hope to come back in warmer weather to enjoy the pool!
