Beachfront holiday rentals in Rappahannock River

I had a brief but very enjoyable stay here. It's an excellent change of scenery without going far away. Ronald was a thoughtful host and good to chat with. He gave me the tour and suggestions about nearby spots to check out. This is definitely not a "quick in, quick out, instant book" kind of place, but chances are if you're looking at boat rentals that's not what you're after anyway, and I will say if you're looking for a peaceful, laid-back setting, it's here. Notes for others who might be considering this spot: 1. Nothing is exactly close by, which is kind of the point. Expect most destinations (grocery, bar, etc) to be 20+ minutes away. 2. If you're tall, watch your head! But you get used to it quickly. All in all, if you're looking for a boat experience, I recommend this one.

We loved out time at this Bayside home. My boys spent outside upon hours at the little private beach, where the water doesn't really get deep for quite a ways and the waves were never very rough. it was perfect for them. we all enjoyed the hot tub, kayaks, comfortable beds. My personal favorite was the hammock right by the water, listening to nothing but the waves and the calls of the ospreys that made the area their home. Forget the overly built up touristy areas and give this place a try. You will not regret it.

The place was so cute and clean! We appreciated the water bottles that were left for us and the popcorn machine is so fun!

Beautiful home on the Chester River with amazing views. The home was fully updated, very comfortable and had all the accommodations you want for this location. We will look to reserve it again.

We loved the house; cozy, nicely decorated, with many pieces of original art that really added character. The kitchen is well stocked for those who like to cook. The location right on the water was wonderful, and Nancy provided kayaks, which we took advantage of. Our dog was beside himself with so much room to run. Nancy’s daughter and family live next door, and we spent quite a few hours enjoying conversation and local knowledge with them. We would go back again.

What a gem of a place! So cute and cozy. A great location! Loved all the natural light that came in through the big windows. Everything was so clean yet very comfortable. Enjoyed walking the beach. Found sharks teeth and sea glass! Such a great surprise to find such treasures! Lisa was so very kind and accommodating. Appreciated the extras like coffee, bottled water, shampoo etc and she brought some wood for a cozy fire. They really worked hard at making our stay very comfortable. Definitely will be coming back. But plan on a longer stay because there is so much more in the area to check out!

Lisa was very responsive to all my texts as I had several personal hiccups trying to get on my trip. Her cottage is absolutely adorable and I am eager to come for a second visit. The cottage is very comfortable with a variety of indoor and outdoor space to gather in. In addition, it is in a great location with the beach just across the street. The neighborhood was peaceful and a sweet beach community. The fenced in yard was a gem as I was traveling with a dog.

Our stay was great. The house is located in a quiet friendly neighborhood. The views are amazing. The house is very comfortable and so relaxing. Loved that three bedrooms each had a bathroom. The hosts were wonderful and very responsive.

Lois is such a wonderful and accommodating host! She is quick to respond, extremely generous, and truly cares about the quality of her guest’s stay. The house and property are pristinely kept and there is no shortage of things to do both in and outside of the home. We fished, kayaked, played ping pong and pool, and enjoyed days by the pool and evenings in the new hot tub! I would highly recommend booking Lois’ place if you’re considering a stay at Lake Anna!

The area and view are beautiful and the home's decor is welcoming. The home was very comfortable for our family group and had a VERY well-stocked kitchen. The master bed was VERY comfortable as were the rest of the beds. My husband and I slept well. We all felt at home. MJ was very responsive when I had questions and communicated about the property in clear, concise language. The host provided many outdoor recreation opportunities, which included paddleboards, kayaks, and life jackets. There was a nice sized pool but we were visiting out of season so we did not use it. The exercise room downstairs has a lot of equipment. We all enjoyed our time together. Our family is asking to come back again next year. Thanks for a great stay!

We found Paul’s home very comfortable and accommodating. Paul was accessible when we reached out to him and he communicated well with us. It was a very nice location with a fantastic view of the bay, as we hoped for.

My family and I stayed here for a week for our family vacation. We are a group of 8 (6 adults and 2 kids) and there was plenty of room for all of us. We barely left the house because with the beautiful view, dock, beach area, canoe, kayaks, hot tub, game room/ library, corn hole, and fire pit we all had plenty to keep us entertained. Everyone loved Mary & Shelly’s place, and it provided the perfect space for us to enjoy the river and each other’s company!

We had so much at Anne and Neil’s place. It was more beautiful in person than in the photos. The furniture and antiques were so beautifully appointed. We had lots of fun as a family enjoying their pool, searching for shark teeth and shells on their beach, and getting on the water in their boats. Lots of fun. We all wish we could have stayed longer.

Wonderful place - pictures do not do it justice. Home is spotless and beautifully furnished! We had a great time relaxing on our babymoon. Lots of great restaurants close by and so much to do at the house you never have to leave. Really appreciated the details such as the coloring station and ample beach towels. Hope to stay again in the future!

Awesome place with my t, we had everything we needed and more. Great location to disconnect and connect with one another. Plenty of space, locals, location and great amenities.

This charming house is down a private dirt road. Very peaceful surroundings. Saw dolphins upon arrival. There is a small grocery store nearby. We ate at The Table restaurant less than 2 miles away. Food was great. Make sure you make a reservation. If you’re bringing a boat it may be challenging to get it down the one lane dirt road. You will need to use the near by marina to rent a slip. There is no trash pickup at the house. You must drop off trash five minutes up the road from 9-5. Beds and linens were cozy. The kitchen was well stocked. The pool was clean. The shed included floats and games. We had everything we needed for our stay. The host checked on us after check in. She was kind and responsive.

Was such a beautiful experience. Such an amazing place worth the stay! The kayaks and canoes were so much fun. Very clear instructions a binder full of instructions and very clear. Also in the binder has lots of cool things to do around the area 10/10 it was amazing!!!

Had a great weekend at Ryan's place. Ryan sent a pretty comprehensive guide once we booked with instructions that were clear how to get into the property, what was available, and how to use all the amenities which was very helpful. This was one of the most well-stocked airbnbs we have ever stayed in. The property is gorgeous and we loved spending every minute outside. Highly recommend and would re-book again.

Perfect Lake Side Vacation Spot!!! My friends and I spent the weekend and we absolutely loved it! The home is beautiful and the surroundings are so serine. Perfect place to get away and spend pleasurably days participating in outdoor activities like fishing, grilling and watching the sunset. We loved our stay so much we are already planning our next trip to the wonderful spot! Tim is an amazing host! Check in and check out were a breeze, he kindly checked in on us and was always prepared to help facilitate an enjoyable stay. I couldn’t recommend this listing any higher :)

Great for a group/family weekend getaway. Erin and Aryn are very hospitable hosts and provided all the essentials. Everything in the kitchen and all the light switches are clearly labeled, making it easy to navigate.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend. The dock is a very short walk and the screened porch was perfect for coffee with a view. I would definitely stay again.

Loved this quaint tiny house. It was quiet and scenic and a 15 minute drive to Colonial Beach waterfront and restaurants. Lorie is fabulous host, communicative and friendly. We had a great time!

Everything about our stay was perfect! Hosts were super easy to communicate with, very kind and considerate (offering an early check in and late check out since we were staying for very short amount of time) I’ve stayed in many Airbnb’s and this is by far the best! They thought of everything to make you feel at home. We absolutely loved watching the sunset out back while roasting marshmallows in the fire pit and the kids loved the private beach. The house decor was beautiful as well. No one wanted to leave! We will definitely be back!
