Monthly Rentals in Mesa Lane Steps

We had the most delightful stay at La Casita! Olie the dog was adorable and so was the space. The hosts were sweet, helpful and accommodating. We also had a beautiful time walking down to Mesa Lane steps and enjoying the beach down the road! La Casita had everything we needed and the beach was truly magical.

We had a fantastic stay at Pauline's home! It was cozy, peaceful, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable visit. We enjoyed the easy walk to the Douglas Family Preserve, where we were treated to breathtaking ocean views. Best of all was the outdoor space—relaxing in the beautiful garden and gathering around the fire pit made our trip truly memorable.

Sara was a lovely host and her place was wonderful! The bed was spotless and the most comfortable Airbnb bed we have ever experienced. She was such a thoughtful host, providing snacks, resources, etc. and even thought of the little things like lotion and a fresh kitchen sponge (as someone with severe allergies, this was such a kind and unexpected gesture). You can tell she takes joy in making sure her guests have a perfect experience. The outside patio was amazing, so nice to relax at both during the day and in the evening. And the nature preserve with trails beginning right down the street was a highlight of the stay! Located in a great area overall - very easy to access downtown Santa Barbara, UCSB, West Beach, etc. We loved having access to the washer and dryer as we were able to do our laundry - the washer did smell a bit musty but not a huge surprise given that it likely doesn't have a lot of time to air out between guests. Overall a near perfect stay and we can't wait to return!

Stayed here while visiting my daughter at UCSB. The house is charming, artsy, and has a relaxed, bohemian feel. We enjoyed cooking and eating in the back garden, and it was very comfortable when we were home. Nancy and Jimbo were warm and easy to communicate with. The neighborhood is perfect for walking—right next to the Douglas Preserve—and close to two grocery stores. The space is compact but had everything we needed. A few things weren’t intuitive, like the light switches or the water cooler near the French doors (we thought it was an air filter at first!). It offered hot and filtered water—great for tea, though we found it a little late. The bathroom is a wet room, so the toilet, sink, and shower share a small space. My daughter loved it; it felt a bit tight for me. Overall, a well-cared-for, unique spot that’s great for solo travelers, couples, or anyone visiting a UCSB student.
