Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Lake Galena

I was in Galena for the first time with my husband and two young adult children (22 and 24). We were looking for a peaceful short getaway to start off the summer. The home was beautiful and we loved the hot tub and the screened in porch. My daughter found the waffle maker right away and made waffles every morning! We only needed 3 of the 4 bedrooms but are planning to return in the Fall with the grandparents. We are likely to return to the same home as the king bedroom on the Main level would be perfect for accessibility for my father-in-law. We went to downtown Galena several times and enjoyed the shopping. Visited Thunder Bay Falls which was a short 5 minute drive through the Galena Territory. Walked to the end of the street and got some great pictures from the lookout and walked the trail with our dog. We never even made it to the clubhouse or the pool but that is on the list for our return. Loved it!

Vickie's home was an amazing place to stay during our trip to Galena. The home was very clean, comfortable, and cozy. It was close to restaurants. We enjoyed sitting out on the peaceful porch, and it was great that we could bring our dog. Vickie is a wonderful host, and we would stay here again!

I had a great stay at this charming home. I loved the art, the feel of the home and the restored wooden furniture. The helpful hints like how to turn on the shower were much appreciated. The space was quiet and white noise machines were provided although I found I did not need them. The home was centrally located with nothing being more than a mile or two away. The bed was comfortable. The only thing I would recommend is getting a recliner or chair for the bedroom. Thanks for a great stay!

Your place was so Retro!! We loved it !! Needs a fire pit and more outside backyard chairs. We really enjoyed the town and loved the view of the Mississippi River. The park across the street was amazing!!! We had the other guests from the other unit walk into our unit 2 times while we were there.

Great get away retreat for my family. Close enough to town for daytime fun but then enough distance to be solo in the evening. We slept comfortably, showers were perfect, and the kitchen was clean and spacious for cooking homemade meals. Thanks Joe!

We had a wonderful stay! The home was incredibly spacious, clean, and perfect for our family, including my mother-in-law’s two small dogs. It was very dog-friendly, which made things so much easier and more comfortable for us. The host was very friendly and responsive throughout our stay. They even left us a bottle of wine, which was such a thoughtful and appreciated touch. The house had a lot of great amenities that made us feel right at home. One of the highlights was its proximity to a horse riding facility, just a short distance away, where we got to enjoy horseback riding, which was such a memorable experience. The community pool was about a 5-minute drive away and looked beautiful. Although we didn’t get a chance to swim, we did use the tennis and basketball courts, which added to the fun. Overall, this was a great place to stay. We would absolutely recommend it to others looking for a relaxing and family-friendly getaway!

This cabin was the perfect retreat from our busy lives. It was in a peaceful, quiet area with deer and wild turkeys walking through the backyard. The cabin was very clean, inside and outside. The landscape was beautiful and everything is within a short drive from the lake to the local winery to the restaurants on Main Street. We had such a wonderful stay and hope to visit again soon!

We all enjoyed our stay here. The house was big enough for 9 adults to be in comfortably. Everything we needed was in the hose for a wonderful stay. Being able to use the Owners Club amenities was amazing.

We had an excellent stay during our weekend of baseball we stayed with two other families and there was plenty to keep us all entertained. Andrea was always responsive and the property was just as listed. We would stay again and highly recommend this property.

Stayed for a long weekend with three friends! Such a wonderful quiet and cozy place to stay! Nancy was very responsive and friendly! The house was clean and the natural light was so wonderful. Would definitely like to stay at the Piccolo House again!

Great stay! Exactly what we expected.

The location was perfect for us. Although it is above a bar, I can say the music did not bother is. She does provide eat plugs which we did not need to use. we spent one of our evenings at the grape escape. Highly recommend for live music. The space was perfect for us as well, walkable and was able to find close parking. Finally even though all directions and information were on the app, Catherine still responded to our questions on text. Great place. We will be back !

Beth was very communicative before and during our stay. The house was nicely decorated, and furnished clean and exactly as we expected. I appreciated that we were able to leave without starting laundry, dishwashers, etc. The kitchen had a lot of useful utensils and supplies. We didn't do much cooking, but we could have easily prepared most anything we wanted. The beds and furniture was very comfortable. There were plenty of games and activities to do at the house; we did not utilize the community rec areas, but that was only due to our own agenda and time limitations. My only recommendation would be that blackout curtains in the bedrooms would have been greatly appreciated. I was up at 5:30am some mornings because of light pouring into the bedroom on the main floor.

This townhome was beautiful, peaceful and had a lot of amenities compared to others in Galena. I stayed at Dana's place with my 6 year old daughter and basset hound for our girls trip. My daughter loved running around the front and back lawn, going on walks and the pool which is in walking distance. The home is very welcoming and clean! The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen has every tool you could need. My daughter loved sitting on the deck with me using the "fancy" plastic glasses for her juice! We will definitely be back!

We stayed there for 4 days for a family retreat. We absolutely loved how peaceful and secluded the house is and enjoyed everything about this beautiful house - especially the grill on the balcony. Galena and Dubuque are both a 15-20 min drive away so it’s at a prime location for excursions around the area. The hosts were very helpful and welcoming - they accommodated our stay with our cat without a question. Our cat loved the backyard so much that he didn’t want to leave. Will definitely recommend to anyone traveling to the tri-state area.

A Hidden Gem by the Water – A Fisherman’s Dream! This cozy Airbnb exceeded our expectations in every way — the biggest highlight being its perfect location right near the water! My husband loves to fish so he was thrilled to discover how easy it was to grab his gear and head out each morning for a peaceful few hours of fishing just steps from the property. The home itself was clean, well-stocked, and thoughtfully decorated with a charming, rustic vibe that fit the setting perfectly. Waking up to the sound of birds and the sight of the sunrise glistening over the water was pure magic. The host was warm, welcoming, and provided clear instructions and had everything labeled, that helped us make the most of our stay. Whether you’re looking to fish, relax by the water, or simply unplug in a serene setting, this place is a true slice of heaven. We’ll definitely be back!

Catherine’s a great host. The apartment is very cozy/comfortable and right in the center of downtown. Walkable to pretty much everything. Won’t find a better stay in the area.

We loved our stay in Bellevue. The home was very clean, cozy and fully stocked with everything we needed. The location was great within walking distance of the Mississippi, lock and dam #12, downtown shops, and restaurants. Railroad tracks run right in front of the house and trains did come through, but no loud whistles/horns. If you're a light sleeper, you might hear the low rumble at night when the train comes through, but Kathy does provide a white noise machine and fans that help. The home was perfect for our stay and was close to hiking and biking trails, which is what we love to do.
