Bohemian Firehouse-an authentic 1916 Firehouse

The Bohemian Firehouse was the living quarters for the men stationed there when it was built in 1916. It sits above a retail space which housed the firetruck. The charming brick building is in near original condition, despite surviving a major flood and a derecho. You'll love the gorgeous woodwork, vintage tile and light fixtures. But you'll appreciate some modern touches like air conditioning, an updated kitchen and smart tv. Still, it's easy to imagine the stories these walls could tell.

Just one block from NewBo Market in the heart of a vibrant neighborhood, this sparkling clean, cozy and eclectic space is the upper apartment of an 1890s era home listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Once slated for demolition, the Heart House was fully restored (in a way that charms everyone) to include a first floor shop and a second floor apartment. Guests especially love the clawfoot tub with rainfall showerhead.

Cozy, spacious cottage with a beautiful sunroom porch where guests can enjoy peace and quite. Free Wi-Fi, conveniently located within minutes of downtown, great restaurants, shopping mall and grocery store is right up the road! Basement has a comfortable area for guests to unwind and watch a movie. There is plenty of sleeping space, 3 beds and 2 futons, 1.5 baths, large dining room table with plenty of space. The character within this home is absolutely gorgeous. You wont be disappointed!

Our place is close to everything! A 5-10 minute drive to just about anything in town. Newbo District and downtown are 5 min by car and 15 min on a bike. The bike path is 1/2 mile from the house and easily accessible. You will enjoy the quiet wooded location of this completely renovated "cozy" 500 Sq. Ft. one bedroom cottage. Pat and Susie were awesome hosts! We really felt at home, it was a nice peaceful neighborhood that we walked each morning. We utilized everything that the Technicolor Dreamhouse had to offer. It was a good floor plan, with two separate living areas and a great ping-pong table for some family competitions. We also like to cook, so we took advantage of the kitchen and grill. If you are considering staying at this property, I highly recommend it!

We had a family reunion at this beautiful home and it was beyond amazing. The home is just so gorgeous and the grounds are stunning. We got to be there with the peony garden in bloom! What a treat. The host was very communicative and responsive. The place had everything we needed for our family gathering. We definitely hope to be able to stay again next year!

It was an absolute pleasure staying at Kenneth and Cathy's two-bedroom home in Cedar Rapids this weekend! It was a quick trip to and from Iowa City for my brothers graduation ceremony. From start to finish, the experience was seamless, beginning with a wonderfully easy check-in and check-out process. The home itself was immaculate – spotlessly clean and exactly as depicted in the pictures. What truly stood out were the thoughtful amenities provided. It's clear that Kenneth and Cathy have put a lot of care into anticipating their guests' needs. As an example, I was so grateful to find a lint roller available when I needed one before heading out in a black sweater! It's those little touches that elevate a stay from good to exceptional. Overall, this home is a perfect 10/10. I wholeheartedly recommend Kenneth and Cathy's place to anyone visiting Cedar Rapids. You won't be disappointed!
