House holiday rentals in Highlands

Well, my husband and I have stayed there on and off for the last six months for local work, so we know the place well. Sadly, our project has come to an end, so our most recent stay will be our last for work. BUT, we love everything about Todd and Barbie and the house, and we will be back for fun hiking weekends. Hiking, waterfalls, everything nearby. It's the best place we've stayed in the area. Private, squeaky clean, big deck, large dining room table for big meals or spreading out the paperwork, GREAT internet connection and TV options. We'll definitely be back on our own - we feel so comfortable there in every way. I could not recommend any higher - would give it a "10" if I could. Todd and Barbie also bent over backwards to help us with a couple of last-minute schedule changes. Such honest and thoughtful hosts. Thanks Todd and Barbie for EVERYTHING over the last few months. We love you guys!

My family loved our stay at Wilstone! The home is lovely and pristine, with a warm and inviting family lodge feel. And the view is amazing! My teenage children enjoyed the downstairs rooms with private bathrooms and we all had fun playing pool. It was a fantastic set up for us! We’ve already agreed we want to go back!

Our family felt right at home at Michael's A-frame. My husband commented that it felt as though we had stayed there before, and it really had. It has every amenity and creature comfort you could want or need, including a nicely stocked spice cabinet, plenty of linens, board games and puzzles, and a place to do laundry. Michael was friendly and helpful. Our family had an awesome time, and we hope to be back to enjoy the property in the summer months!

We had a wonderful stay at this home in Clayton, GA while in town for a wedding with another family. The house had everything we needed—super clean, well-stocked, and very comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped, which made meals easy, and the whole place had such a welcoming, cozy feel. The location was perfect—just a short walk into town, which is absolutely adorable. We happened to be there during a local festival, and it was such a treat to see the community in action. Lots of local pride and charm all around! The outdoor space was a huge bonus. The pool and hot tub were a hit with the kids, and the spacious yard gave them plenty of room to run around and play. It was a quick trip, so we didn’t get to explore as much of the area as we would’ve liked, but there’s clearly a lot to see and do. We’d definitely love to come back and stay longer! Highly recommend this home for anyone visiting the Clayton area—whether for a special event or just a relaxing getaway.

An excellent spot for enjoying the Nantahala National Forest, as well as having ample room and accomodations for guests and vehicles.

John's unit was a very nice place to stay. Everything we needed was available and easily accessed. Location was perfect for all the amenities /restaurants/hiking/shopping. We would highly recommend this place to stay for your visit to the western Carolina mountains. John was responsive and available when needed. Come to Sapphire Valley for a great vacation.

This is such an amazing place and yes it is real! Incredible views and wonderful stunning home in the mountains. It really was a memory I'll have forever. Matt was so awesome, he helped us get settled in and the amenities were so awesome🙏. Stay here and prepare to be pampered all the way up in the mountains! ❤️

We came to the Highlands for our daughter‘s wedding and couldn’t have been more pleased with this Airbnb house. It was spacious, comfortable, clean and beautiful. The host was very helpful with every question I had! We look forward to coming again!

Loved our weekend getaway in the Highlands. Was a short walk into town for coffee or shopping; the boys also loved fishing on the local pond!

Loved the front and back porch, really nice updated appliances, great for a group getaway, beds were comfy, close to town, we only saw a bear visitor once, spacious, private, stocked up on the basics for the kitchen and bathrooms, easy directions, quick response, great communication with the hosts. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful cottage on lake. Very peaceful and close to town. The home was clean with all amenities you would need. We so enjoyed sitting on the dock taking in the lovely surroundings. We look forward to booking in the future!

We have stayed in several places in this area, and this one is our favorite! The house has everything and is stocked with all the little things you need to just relax as soon as you arrive. The river is beautiful, the view is perfect, and the seating areas outside are comfortable and cozy. Larry truly is a superhost and is very prompt with responses. Our next stay will be here again!

This home is beautiful! It was clean, spacious, incredibly peaceful and had amazing views from the house and the deck. Although we never walked into town due to the weather, it is a beautiful and easy walk to the downtown shops/restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, have nothing negative whatsoever to say about the property and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Came into town for a wedding at the Farm at Old Highlands! This was the perfect location and so cozy. Brought our 8 month old and it was perfect!

Staying here was the highlight of our trip. Beautiful home with everything you need for a quiet getaway in the mountains.

Within 10 minutes of multiple waterfalls and hiking trails! This is a beautifully decorated home, well stocked, extremely clean, private, and peaceful. The towels and bed linens were of high quality. Plenty of blankets were available to cozy up and relax on the couch. I went with my sister and felt safe and comfortable. We made breakfast and had coffee each morning on the back deck. Plenty of cooking utensils, pots, pans and dishes were available. The back deck has a large outdoor mat that is great for morning stretching and/or yoga. One afternoon, my sister relaxed on the sofa on the front deck, read a book and napped. We didn't use the fireplace inside or the firepit outside, but there was an ample supply of dry firewood if we wanted to use it. The property is very relaxing! Kangee was nearby, responsive and friendly. We would love to return!

LOVED our stay! Beautiful view, loved the fire pit, very clean, well stocked kitchen, great location. Would absolutely stay again if we make it back to Asheville. The drive up is a little intimidating but nothing the Jeep Wrangler couldn’t handle.

This was the cutest cabin with modern amenities tucked just outside downtown Cashiers! It was a very cloudy and wet weekend, but this cozy space was perfect for relaxing! The host was great and even gave a recommendation for a nearby hike to a waterfall that was beautiful! 10/10 would stay here again!

This is by far my new all time favorite rental. The home is cozy, clean, and perfectly located. The private hiking trail has some of the most beautiful waterfalls I’ve ever seen. If you’re a waterfall lover, this is the place for you! And my dad had an amazing time trout fishing. Great host too- he responds quickly to any questions and had so much information available for me to easily figure out the trail system and local things to do. I hope to come back again and again.

The place was very clean and well appointed with every necessity. But the best thing was the beautiful and tranquil lake and neighborhood. We were not expecting such gorgeous surroundings and were really impressed with the entire place. We would love to come back and enjoy it all again!

Kelly was an outstanding host - the communication was proactive and so helpful with great recommendations and ways to make our stay easy. The home is beautiful with great views, conveniently located to cashiers, local marina, and a short drive to highlands. We loved it!

I cannot say enough great things about this place! It was the perfect spot for my solo writing retreat/getaway. I appreciated the provided lighter and fresh-cut wood to build a fire in both the fire pit and wood-burning stove. There is even a trail about 10 feet from the end of the driveway that leads to a small waterfall! The upper unit is pretty steep, so be prepared for that. If you want to be right beside the fire pit, you’ll want to book the lower unit. But, I didn’t mind the walk. Communication was great, & the host was very accommodating. Brevard is only about a 15 minute drive, with a cute downtown, restaurants, coffee, and groceries.

Beautiful home, that matched the pictures exactly. We were here just to unplug, as the weather was too cold to enjoy the lake, and the house was perfect for that. Gorgeous fireplaces, wonderful views, and a library of awesome books. My favorite part of the house were the windows that lined the entire top of the home. At night, we could see the stars while lying in bed. Very neat. I would definitely recommend this house.
