Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Highlands

We had a lovely stay at The Rusty Nail. The cabin was clean, cozy and had everything we needed. We were fortunate enough to even have a early morning rain that sounded wonderful on the tin roof. It was a great weekend spot for my husband and I.

What a beautiful and relaxing place to go. A true hikers treehouse to escape to and unwind.

this cottage is like something straight out of Anne of Green Gables! The upstairs rooms were all so cute. We slept with the windows open and listened to the creek at night. The fire bowl was great for s'mores and the setting was lovely. Celeste was very.yeasy to work with and I truly didn't want to leave

My husband & I very much enjoyed our stay at this Highlands mountain home. It was clean, comfortable, and watching the long-range mountain view sunset was the perfect way to end a day of hiking and exploration. The kitchen was well stocked, internet fast and dependable, and the living room a nice place to enjoy a movie or watch the clouds move across the mountains. The location was convenient to the entire Franklin, Highlands, Cashiers area which in the spring is a playground of wildflowers and waterfalls. There are also plenty of shops and restaurants to visit and the locals were all friendly. Thank you, Rudy & Adrienne, for sharing your lovely mountain home with us. We hope to return in the not-too-distant future!

Staying at Mill Creek Cottage was much like visiting a beloved friend’s house. We’ve stayed in some Airbnbs that were almost antiseptic and boring. Not Joan’s place! It was wonderful and quirky and comfortable - and had absolutely everything we needed. We spent five days hiking, grilling out, playing games, and just sitting on the deck watching the birds and enjoying the mountain air. If we ever head back to Hayesville I will check to see if this cottage is available!

This is the perfect house for a family mountain weekend. We had lots of room, a well stocked kitchen and laundry room. It was just minutes from downtown Highlands but felt very secluded and peaceful. We would love to return.

Fabulous view, great flat driveway, super clean in all of the unit! Bedrooms were very comfortable and has great closet space. We would come back!

Will be coming back to this space!! So beautiful, every detail and amenity was available and thought through. Felt right at home & was able to bring the pups! We forgot a water bowl & Lindsey had one ready for us when we got there with plenty of paw towels and doggie bags!! Also, expect a pretty steep driveway! We have a 4-WD and AWD vehicle and had little to no problems. Thank you to Lindsey for offering this amazing space !

We loved our stay here! The studio was just as advertised and easy to find. The kitchen was clean and had everything we needed to do our own cooking for the week. They provided enough soap and such for us to get started and we only really had to bring more toilet paper. Otherwise everything was there that we needed. We loved the games that they had there for us to use and the snacks were perfect too. We will definitely be looking at staying here again.

Kathy is an amazing host, and the accommodations are exactly like the photos. We enjoyed our stay so much we requested to extend another night! Very welcoming peaceful surroundings. Gorgeous stone FP and kitchen backsplash. Decorated beautifully. The bed was very comfortable, and the bath towels were excellent. We had everything we needed. Our dog was welcomed with treats and a dog toy. We would recommend this property to anyone wishing to be close to Brevard and the surrounding areas. We will stay again when in the neighborhood. Our family is always grateful to stay at Mary Ann's beautiful property! We've stayed here multiple times now and hope to continue to do so whenever our travels take us through the Asheville area. This property is truly a gem - peaceful, beautiful mountain view, a tree swing, lots of greenspace for the kiddos to run around outside after long car rides, comfortable big beds, a lovely bathroom, cozy living room and lots of much appreciated extras in the kitchen like KCups and creamers, pop tarts, waffles, water and juice. And if you ever need anything, Mary Ann is super responsive. It truly feels like a respite for us along long family trips, like getting to stop at a home away from home. We love this special place! We were in town for a wedding and traveling 7.5 hours to get there the stay was absolutely amazing! It rained while we were there on Friday but we enjoined sitting on the porch with blankets listening to the rain fall on the tin roof! We enjoyed watching the neighbors horses that would come to the fence to visit and we enjoyed watching the chickens beside the house ( don’t worry they are all quiet as well). We ended up being a party of three traveling with a 14 year old boy who never once said he was bored he spent his time on the swings outside and petting the horses! I highly recommend this place it is close to town, nice quiet location, easy driveway, no steps to climb and peaceful! The House is very clean, beds are comfy even the couch bed sleeps well per the 14 year old. The Host is very friendly and made sure we had absolutely everything that we needed! The home is stocked with all the things we needed and was the perfect size! Thank you for having us! Martha, Natalie, Nathan

Great place close to Bryson City, private, with kid-friendly amenities. Would recommend.

Maggie and Mike are wonderful, responsive, and attentive hosts! They made us feel so welcomed and were very helpful with recommendations for hiking and sightseeing in the area. Meeting them was such an added bonus to a great stay. The apartment was just as described and met all of our expectations. The property is gorgeous and so very peaceful and the view is stunning. We are very glad we stayed here and would like to come again.

We loved staying at Lara’s. Because of rainy weekend, the mountains were especially lush and foggy creating almost magical misty atmosphere. We were able to build a fire every night. Kitchen was perfectly stocked with nice scratch free pots/pans. Lots of nature and little towns to explore nearby. Thank you Lara - we would love to come back!

Staying at Jennifer’s mountain retreat was truly a magical experience. From the moment we booked, Jennifer was incredibly responsive, kind, and thoughtful, making the entire process smooth and welcoming. She went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and convenient. The cabin itself was mesmerizing..honestly, the photos don’t do it justice. It’s even more beautiful in person. Every detail of the space felt mindfully designed, and the peaceful mountain views were exactly what we were hoping for. We especially loved the little touches like the hummingbirds visiting the feeder, the incredibly cozy fireplace on the deck, and the charming bee-themed decor. The bed was super comfortable, the linens were spotless, and the overall atmosphere was calming and rejuvenating. This place is a true sanctuary in nature, and I cannot recommend it enough. Thank you, Jennifer, for creating such a beautiful and memorable space! PS: Your honey is incredibly delicious. A must buy!

Heather’s place was a little slice of heaven! If you are looking for peace, beauty, and still close to town this is perfect! I felt like I could stay there forever!! It was the perfect place to relax after an AT section hike! Highly recommended!!

This is the perfect mountain getaway. The view from the back deck is absolutely beautiful. Back deck is set up for the perfect morning - cup of coffee and Mountain views. Also, fire pit on site that can be used to roast smores. There was plenty of room in the home as well. Host was always quickly responsive and had a great binder of recommendations at the home. We were fairly close to downtown Franklin and loved attending the town’s farmers market and Friday night music/food truck fest. Highly recommend this home!

This is our 4th year in a row staying at the cabin while attending the Franklin Rock & Gem Shows. We love the place and the host, Patty, is great at communicating. We do our best to leave an AirBNB in as good of condition, if not better, when checking out as we treat it like our home away from home. Scenic location and remodeled cabin. Hopefully it will be available next year. Rock on!

We had a fantastic stay at the cabin last week. We especially loved the back porch- picnic table for outdoor meals and the big swing was awesome! We walked from the cabin to the start of the Cliffside Lake Trail- what a great location!

Julie's place never disappoints as this is our 3rd year staying there & already booked for our 4th. Everything is spotless, we feel some comfy & cozy. I love sitting & listening to the wild life & stream in back.
