Holiday rentals with lake access in Hafnarfjörður

Can’t say enough about how easy and responsive David was. His motorhome was perfect for our trip and he was able to answer questions within minutes. We would not hesitate to rent from him again.

We had a fantastic vacation in Iceland staying at Jon’s house. We had plenty of room, we were comfortable, and we had nice evenings in the garden soaking in the hot tub. We certainly recommend it for anyone planning an Iceland get away that needs space for the whole family.

Hilmar’s home was the perfect place for my family to enjoy 6 days in Iceland. The home was exactly as pictured and allowed us to have plenty of space to enjoy together time or time apart after a long day of togetherness. The home was very clean, instructions were clear and Hilmar was always very responsive. I would highly recommend this home and plan to share with friends as they look to travel to Iceland.

An absolutely stunning lake side villa close to the famous Golden Circle. We used it as our base for a week to explore Iceland with friends. We were two families, with three children in total. The villa is simply stunning, so beautiful and the perfect home away from home. We all loved returning back in the evenings and enjoying the sauna and hot tub. Then the grown ups sat up late to take in the never ending sun outside, snuggled with blankets and fire pit for company. We lost track how many photos we all took of the lake. We also enjoyed our coffee in the morning over looking the lake and running the loop around the lake. Communication was excellent and Telma couldn't have been more responsive or helpful. We 100% recommend and will be back!

Absolutely amazing stay at such a beautiful home. The large windows made the last night with Auroras absolutely amazing. It was extremely comfortable and the Sauna just completed the whole stay. 10/10 would recommend, 10/10 would stay again.

Sara’s place felt at home. We were comfortable. With 5 of us, 2 living spaces really helped. We are able to have our own spaces within the house. A relatively new home, fast internet and while it’s was super freezing out there, we were snug as a bug! Would happily return. Great communication too. 👍🏼

We very much enjoyed our stay here! It was great home base for our day trips. The Airbnb had everything we needed as well. Olafur was very helpful and responsive. There were also more toys here for the kids than we’ve had at any other Airbnb which was perfect for keeping the kids busy. Would definitely stay here again.

Great for families and convenient location for Reykjavik and the airport. Would highly recommend. Pros Quiet neighbourhood. Responsive host. Honoured the booking even though there was some sort of mix-up. Super helpful and the additional information during bad weather was really appreciated. Clean, tidy, spacious and comfortable. Great for families with young children. Improve Netflix on the main tv would be useful.

Annel was a great host & his home was absolutely beautiful! We were so grateful to find a place with such a beautiful view. Annel was also very helpful and allowed us to have a flexible check in.

Everything was fine with the accommodation. Milad answers questions quickly. Parking is great. Fully equipped kitchen.

Helga was extremely responsive and the information she shared was incredibly helpful! She made sure everything was set for our 11 month old and provided great recommendations. One of our group had a later flight and she was super flexible with a later flexible time. Would highly recommend staying here.

Great apartment with lots of space for kids to play, we enjoyed the stay

My family and I (5 adults) had a great stay there. Hjalmar and his wife greeted us when we arrived at the house. He was very responsive and flexible with our check-in. The place was clean and comfortable. It had everything. We would stay there again. Highly recommend!

The host is very friendly and helpful, even though we booked the place at the last minute. He had the place ready for us within a few hours. The location is convenient, about 20 minutes from downtown Reykjavik, with free parking available in either an outdoor lot or an indoor garage. It is also very close to a Bonus, a grocery store chain popular with locals. The apartment is very clean, tastefully decorated, and equipped with many luxury amenities. This is definitely a home away from home that we would love to return to. Thank you, Jon!

Krisztina’s place was perfect for our first few days in town. We luckily arrived just in time to meet Krisztina at the apartment and she was able to give us incredible food and travel recommendations! The apartment was perfectly located and was surrounded by great restaurants and coffee shops. And, if you have a car with you, there is a free lot just down the street by the pier. We loved our time and hope to be back!

My husband and I wanted to get away from the city and out in the country. This was the perfect place for us. The scenery around the cabin is breathtaking. We enjoyed the hottub and we're also able to view the Northern Lights on a few nights. The amenities inside were perfect and just what we needed. I was a little apprehensive about the shower being outside in a separate building, at first, but the water was hot and the pressure was excellent. Our stay was perfect and the communication with Vidar was top notch. Such a beautiful place.

Good afternoon everyone, The place was a perfect first stop for our trip through Iceland for us. You felt right at home and the value for money is fair. Its quiet and easily accessible. We still have small suggestions for improvement. -The light has partially flickered - There was hair on the beds -The hot tub was not clean - In the kitchen there was no baking paper for the stove. These are all small things, otherwise the place was perfect for us!

Friendly hostess, well equipped home, quiet place, fell like home. Highly recommended.

The scenery was amazing. It was wonderful to hang out on the porch, though admittedly a bit chilly in early October. The cabin was very cute, well laid out, clean, and with many small touches that made it wonderful. Only downside was that the hot water does have a strong sulfur smell and the kitchen sink is shallow resulting in water often spraying out of the sink due to the high water pressure. Aside from those two minor issues that place was perfect solitude. One other item to mention is that the nearby waterfall trail was very worthwhile. You park in the nearby small neighborhood and walk up an ATV trail. It was amazing to be the only people around the waterfall and to be able to hike further up the mountains.

Maria's cabin is out of the way on a small lake. The scenery is beautiful. The cabin had all the necessities and comfortable beds. One bedroom was on the small side, but the main bedroom was large. The only issue was a difference in how America and Icelandic people make their number 1's. I thought the Wi-Fi code had a 7 in it but it was a 1. After I figured that out, the Wi-Fi worked great. :-)

Hans and Elsa were really good hosts and provided all the information we could have needed, answering questions and providing information speedily and accurately. The accommodation was perfect for my wife, daughter and me, and was in a wonderful peaceful setting about 15 minutes from Reykjavik. Everything that was needed was available, with the exception of WiFi, but Hans did explain beforehand that they were trying to set this up but it was currently a 'Bit of and experiment' - but we did have good data coverage in the area through our own mobile providers. The television in the accommodation didn't work either and no programmes were available, but that was relief, as we did spend long days you exploring all the south and western areas of Iceland. We would certainly use this accommodation again if coming back to Iceland and wanting to stay in the same area, and would happily recommend it to other who want a quite base from which to explore this part of Iceland.

This home was our group's comfortable solitude during our time visiting Iceland. A comfortable home surrounded by horses with a cozy den and a nice sound system. Highly recommend you stay here when you visit!

First of what will be several trips to Iceland, superb place to use as a base and ideal place to go back to after a long day exploring, very peaceful and surrounded by countryside but a very short drive into Reykjavik.
