This Historic Riverside house has been fully renovated, in keeping with a classic, coastal New England feel. It is well equipped with modern amenities (Wi-Fi, Alexa Concierge, etc.) and has a lovely cottage with two loft style beds.
“My wife and I made reservations roughly 6 weeks prior to our stay in Mystic. When we got the notification about our upcoming stay we were a bit apprehensive due to the current Covid-19 situation... Gerard the host, gave us comfort in being super responsive about any questions we had and assured us the house would be sparkling clean and thoroughly prepared. It was!! We walked in and it felt like home, amazing attention to detail. We have an 18 month old and the house was equipped with installed gates for the stairs and 2 height chairs (as well as a playpen). We grilled every night and spent countless hours on the porch enjoying the nights paired with bottles of wine. We had no idea just how amazing the location was till we got there- It's a 5 minute walk to town and the house seems to be close enough to where everything is at. There's s also great running. I took a solid 10 mile run around the river and nearby areas. Everyone is super friendly. I can go on... Our stay will be a lasting memory and we look forward to visiting other Great Gull properties. Thank you Gerard for making our stay amazing and making us feel like family.”
Water Forest retreat is a very private 144 ft.² electrified and heated cedar octagon next to a brook on 100 acres of forest with a pond, waterfall, marsh and hiking trails. “I don’t even want to write this review because I selfishly don’t want too many people to find about this place... but everyone should have the same opportunity to experience this absolutely incredible stay. Nancy and Bert are the kindest (and coolest) hosts I have ever met. Every detail of our stay was personal and thoughtful. My boyfriend and I have been quarantined with my family of 6 for months now and we just needed time away. We spent 6 nights in the Octagon and it was the best trip of our lives. The living space was totally able to accommodate us for the week, and the nature trails, campfires, hammock, creek, etc. made it so that we were never bored. If you need time to disconnect, relax, and get in touch with nature but still need some modern conveniences, don’t even hesitate, just book the stay. I recommend the Octagon, just because it’s the most private in my opinion, but I have no doubt that Nancy and Bert have made the other two spaces just as magical. I know I’ll definitely be visiting again.”
