Smoking friendly holiday rentals in Funchal

Mariela is a very friendly and eager host. She was really always super quick to reach. The apartment is beautiful and there is everything you need. Very clean and the intermediate cleaning was also great. We can only recommend the property.

Our stay at the villa smiling petals was very nice. The accommodation is located in the mountains, so you need a car. The view is fantastic and the amenities are simple but completely sufficient. The only criticism from my side is the bed. Unfortunately, the mattress was already quite worn and uncomfortable and it creaks as soon as someone moves in bed. Otherwise, we enjoyed it.

Very good location for exploring Funchal with only a 5-10 walk to the shops and restaurants in the centre. Very spacious for the 4 of us and great views from the balcony. Nice local bakery next door, worth a visit for breakfast.

This place was perfect for us! The location is fantastic and walkable to many great restaurants and to old town. The parking is a reserved garage spot, which is perfect for a car rental. We really appreciated all the local recommendations and information to help us plan our time in Madeira. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and would stay again in a heartbeat.

Our stay at Valdemar's apartment was truly exceptional. If the highest rating is 5, I’d give it a 10. This is exactly why I prefer staying with Airbnb hosts over hotels. The location is perfect—conveniently situated between Funchal and the airport. The apartment itself is clean, spacious, and fully equipped with everything we needed. We were warmly welcomed by Valdemar’s parents, who treated us with delicious local specialties. Valdemar’s guide book to Madeira was outstanding—I ended up doing almost all of the hikes he recommended. We’ll definitely be returning to Madeira, and we’d love to stay at their apartment again.

We had a fantastic stay at Filipe’s home, which is beautiful and really thoughtfully designed. It’s very well appointed, spotlessly clean and in a very charming little village away from the hustle and bustle of Funchal, but still accessible by car. Communication was excellent and the fruit and biscuits were a lovely touch. Highly recommended.

Great place for vacation. Highly recommend

To start with, I never put 10 because perfection does not exist but I regret that we can't give a rating of 9.9!!! The house is super welcoming and perfectly equipped. There was even salt and pepper, oil and vinegar which we can't find much now, plus two “welcome presents,” which becomes extremely rare. We stayed in the northernmost room: PERFECT bedding! (Which, too, becomes very rare). In addition, the location is ideal for visiting Madeira and the sunsets in early May (Good, only 5 out of ten evenings because of the curious weather) were beautiful! The layout (bedroom + dressing room + bathroom) is also perfectly thought out. The “winter lounge” which allows you to have breakfast and dinner overlooking the sea and warm is also a plus. Perfect contact and responsiveness of the host, even at 6 am (storm and power outage)!!!. In short, an excellent stay

We stayed four nights in Hugo's accommodation. It is a beautiful house in a beautiful and very quiet area. We had agreed on an arrival time with Hugo in advance and he was waiting for us at that time (with a cake baked by Grandma herself🥰) and gave us a tour of the residence. We really enjoyed it, thank you Hugo!

I would just recommend that you not follow the navigation route exactly on your phone. What I would say is when you are getting close that it tries to send you up a steep narrow inclining road/alley that is actually used as a one way road downhill by the locals. So if the directions take you to that road just continue on towards the west from there until you come to the next road that looks like a normal road and not an alleyway. The roads are very curvy through that area and as I mentioned you'll be heading west-ish but then road 222 curves north-ish. Once that northward drive starts to switchback you will see the road you should take, there's a bus stop structure there. You will then be turning right (north) at that intersection. Once you head up that way your navigation should reroute and get you there easily. Hope that helps, lol! I wish I could give you a snapshot of my maps, but I'm not able to do so in this review.

We had an amazing stay! The house is beautiful, fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable visit, and felt like home. The garden and pool are stunning, with a lovely view of the city and ocean. Great location—just a 15-minute walk to the center. Highly recommend!

Very clean and well equipped house, location is very central making Funchal very easy to enjoy. Was a little tricky to find! We were 3 couples and the house layout was great, all had our own bathrooms, kitchen lounge and dining room open plan making it a sociable space. Bonus was the outside terrace! Host is very responsive and helpful, we arrived earlier than expected and able to check in, also allowed to leave our bags after checking out 😊 Lots to do on the island and fabulous restaurants.

The house matches the description and the flights are barely audible. Very friendly reception with a gift of Madeira wine and traditional cake!

The accommodation convinces with the fantastic view - at breakfast and dinner we enjoyed the view very much! Unfortunately, the nearby main street is louder than expected. The accommodation is equipped with everything you need, especially the washing machine we were very happy to use during our longer stay, in the kitchen you can also cook a little more extensively. The apartment is attractively furnished, but in some places it is a bit outdated. The apartment is outside the city, you should definitely have a rental car, but you can reach some great hiking starting points by car a little faster.

Stephanie was a great host, super responsive and very flexible with us which was really helpful. The view from the apartment was absolutely stunning and it is a huge space, really great for groups or families travelling together.

Joana is a kind and proactive host, always available. She gave us advice for good restaurants and places to visit :) The appartment is bigger than expected with everything you could ask for. I would definitely recommend Joana‘s place! Small tip: The underground parking space and its entrance are quite narrow so try to get a smaller rental car if possible. Not kmpossible with laeger cars, but less stressfull for sure 😁
