Family-friendly holiday rentals in Cape Elizabeth

Sometimes photos just don't do the real thing justice, and this is the case with this property. The property and the views are truly spectacular! The home is huge and has everything you could ever need to live for a week or more. The porch, especially the screened in portion are magnificent and the hot tub was a perfect way to finish up a great day. We had so many plans to adventure out, but found ourselves wanting to stay and enjoy the pristine yard or just sit on the porch and enjoy each others company, we didn't want or need to leave. Having coffee and watching eagles fly by over the river was truly spectacular. Judy is one of the nicest, easiest hosts we have had the pleasure to work with and truly appreciates your patronage. And Hugh's journal on all things Graywood is a lifesaver. Not only would we return again, but we look forward to it.

Perfect stay for 4 adults, 1 infant, and 1 dog! Love the two-bedroom, two-bathroom layout, plus the kitchenette to make oatmeal and toast in the morning before hitting the ski trails. Clear check-in instructions, no hassle at all even when we arrived around midnight.

The house was perfect for our group of 12. It was spacious and well-cared for. While not located in downtown Portland, it was just minutes away by car. There was ample parking in the driveway and on the street. Meghan was a very responsive and flexible host. We had a great time.

We spent a lovely few days at this property enjoying the winter weather at its finest. The house is close to everything but still felt private and cozy. A great choice for families!

A nice private cottage in a quiet community that was super handy for us to stay until we secured our house in New England. Everything is in place for comfortable living. We lived there for a month long and the hosts were always responsible.

House was as listed, great location in a beautiful area. Plenty of amenities and host was helpful and responsive leading up to and during my stay.

Jon’s cabin is a beautiful place to get away from it all. Very comfortable and well designed. We had everything we needed to cook and hole up for a few days. If you decide to drive to the lake, I would recommend 4WD. We had a truck but were not aware of how soft the ground was and ended up needing to be towed out. Still highly recommend! Enjoy your stay!

This was a perfect stay for our 2 days in Portland. We could walk everywhere from the apartment. There were plenty of options for restaurants nearby.

We arrived and saw either the hosts or prior renters had left a few key basic unopened items in the fridge to help ease us into our stay: items like half and half, some eggs and butter were present. The hosts had also made the effort to leave a small welcome and departing treat for me and the family that was a nice touch. The building was older but with that comes the charms of different features liked slightly raised floors at times and other anomalies. The rooms were freshly painted and we never saw any signs of pests inside.The location was close to the shore and walkable to the pier and attractions. The beach was extremely clean and though we only went at off hours (late night or sunrise) it was always relaxing. There is an active set of train tracks nearby so don't be alarmed, it's about a mile off I'd guess but you will hear them pass through.The roads were pretty quiet in the neighborhood and kids plays on the inactive street for hours. This is our third time staying at the Naughty Dog Private Island, and every time we come, we are surprised by improvements that make our stay more comfortable. If you need to disconnect from the craziness of modern life, just come to this island, relax, reconnect with nature, and recharge. That’s how we feel every time we are here. This island has everything to make your stay fun and relaxing, whichever is your preference. Kent and Heather are one of the best hosts we’ve ever seen, they think of everything to make sure you relax from the beginning until the end of your stay. We highly recommend this place and cannot wait to come back next year.

Very clean, great location in Portland. Street parking was a bit challenging but doable!

Can’t say enough about how great our stay was! Andrew was incredibly responsive, let us check in early and check out late without even asking. It was a great location on the island, very walkable, even for my mother with a bad knee (she was exhausted after the first day though). Would absolutely stay again!! 10/10

Easy 5 stars! Phillip was kind, proactive and responsive. The space, while quaint and simple, was clean, had all the essentials and, it was perfect for a week visiting my grandparents/ working remote! Not to mention my dogs loved being a half mile from the Bath dog park. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a Maine mid-coast getaway!

A very comfortable place. So nicely decorated with art and crafts, there was something interesting on every wall. Tons of engaging books and games, and wonderful antique furniture throughout. The location is excellent…easy access to a variety of outdoor activities, shopping, and dining. Be mindful of the fact that there is an outdoor staircase to the apartment. Younger folks shouldn’t have any problems with this, but those with mobility issues might want to reconsider renting here. (we’re 77 with sketchy knees and managed okay 😁) We would definitely recommend this place and would rent here again if we’re in the area.

Diana’s house was lovely and very comfortable. My family and I had a wonderful time exploring the area and being on the beach! Diana responded quickly whenever I had a question. I definitely stay there again. I highly recommend her house.

Our stay at the beach house was great! You couldn't be closer to the water! So much fun kayaking, floating and swimming in the lake! House is much better than the pictures do it justice. For a 2 bedroom house its very big and spacious, beds were extremely comfortable. The no wifi was a little bit of a downer but there were plenty of board games to play. There is some street noise but not bad at all. Would most definitely recommend if you are looking for waterfront property. The access to the resort pool was a plus too for the kiddos!

This place had everything we needed. The view was spectacular! We really enjoyed seeing fireworks from the deck. The home was very clean, kitchen fully stocked. We loved hearing live music each day and night. So much walkable fun for the kids. We had a wonderful stay!

Christopher was a helpful host and his place was perfect! Clean, fully stocked, great location. It was close to lots of beaches and restaurants and the pool was great for the little ones

A few times while wandering around midcoast Maine in late March, we were asked if this is when we usually came to vacation here. Yes, we are educators from the Southwest, and this was our spring break, so this is when we came to visit, but honestly, it is so peaceful this time of year. Especially Boothbay Harbor, and what we imagined while walking around the very quiet town would be a very different place in July! Our experience at Abby’s space was absolutely wonderful and serene in the spring. The thoughtful touches (thank you for the bottle of Maine wine and jar of blueberry jelly!) made it even more special. Thank you, we hope to be back one day.

Maryann is SUCH a treasure! She really is the hostess with the mostest! Gives great recommendations, homemade coffee and treats, and if you mention you like something, she might get it for you! Making this Philly girl a wannabe Maine resident! Couldn’t recommend more.

The condo was better than the pictures. It was well equipped, the price vs the situation was really good. Spacious and private with great amenities. I would live to rent again next year.

Home is very expansive with room for multiple families to reside together. Lots of games and activities for all ages. Amazing location within minutes to airport and short drive to downtown

My family and I had a awesome time enjoyed the quiet and relaxing days. Michael was very helpful and very quick responses to any questions we had.The cabin was very nice it felt like home was very comfortable slept very well. Everything about the cabin and the island was well worth going looking forward to going again in the future.
