Holiday rentals with a kayak in Albemarle Sound

Had a great time fishing here!! The place had a well stoked kitchen and a nice grill! There's also another fishing area nearby by car that was great too!

I spent a weekend at this rental with my husband and 2 kids (5, 3yrs old). It was absolutely better than expected. The home was clean and well stocked. I’ve stayed at many other rentals in OBX through various platforms and this has been my favorite one yet. The house was super clean and nicely updated. The furniture was comfortable and practical. The dining chairs were easily wiped clean which was nice especially traveling with little kids. I wasn’t expecting to use the Colington Harbour amenities, but that ended up being a big hit with the family. It was really nice hitting up the pool in the evening after spending the entire morning at the beach. The kids loved watching the boats come in. The host Dana also was very responsive. If it’s available for our next OBX trip then we will for sure be back!

We had such a lovely time staying at Gigi’s in Edenton! The waterfront was perfect to lounge by or swim and the place was perfect driving distance to get to local eats and a day trip to OBX! Very clean, Gigi was super kind and helpful, and we had a great weekend.

This space was a little smaller than we thought but overall it was cozy to stay in. The area was quiet and scenic and the house had all the amenities listed, as well as spices and common cleaning supplies stocked. If you’re looking for a place that’s a little wild, away from the hustle and bustle, and family friendly, I would recommend.

A Perfect Slice of Paradise – Truly the Rainbow’s End! We just returned from the most magical stay at Rainbow’s End. Nestled in the heart of the Inner Banks, this home offers the perfect blend of peace, comfort, and natural beauty. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at ease. The house was spotless, beautifully decorated, and stocked with everything we needed—from a fully equipped kitchen to cozy linens and thoughtful touches throughout. The views were absolutely breathtaking—sunrises over the water, gentle breezes, and the kind of quiet that soothes the soul. Our days were filled with playing in the lush backyard, reading on the deck, and exploring charming nearby towns. Evenings were for bonfire, stargazing, and watching the colors of the sunset fade into twilight. Rainbows End truly lives up to its name Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. It was everything we hoped for and more

We had a wonderful stay at Edgewater for a weekend. The house was beautiful and immaculately clean. The view from the deck and yard was beautiful and very peaceful with the water, gardens, and lots of wildlife to see. Alan and Nora are super friendly and so accommodating. They have truly thought of everything and have provided so many fun things for guests to enjoy! We just wish we could have stayed longer.

It is a very quiet and restful place. Great for reading a book or studying. The water in back was rough and not really user friendly per se, but lovely to see. Great sunsets. Grocery store in Columbia was very nice. There are no beaches at all unless we missed them.

Lisa was very responsive, she was quick to answer questions. Her house is pet friendly, it was my dogs first time at the beach, they had a great time. Our whole family six adults, two dogs and we had plenty of room. Nice big table we could all fit around, great for dinners and game playing. The hot tub was nice, would have been amazing but half of the jets do not work. Getting to the beach is a little tricky if you walk, you have to cross a four lane busy highway. I heard there is a parking lot somewhere not too far, we walked every time though. All in all I would book again.

I had the most wonderful stay at The Cottage at Muddy Creek! The space was spotless, beautifully decorated, and so peaceful—exactly what I needed for a relaxing getaway. You can tell there was a lot of thought and care into every detail. The self check-in was super easy, and the views by the water were absolutely stunning. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, cozy escape. Can’t wait to come back!

We had a lovely time exploring Edenton. Melissa’s cottage was beautiful, well kept, and has amazing views of the water. So very peaceful and relaxing!

Another fantastic Spring Break at the Best Box! The nicest, cleanest, most relaxing rental we’ve ever found. Didn’t think the property could be any better than it was last year, but the owners have managed to make many creative and thoughtful upgrades. Enjoyed days at the beach, days on the sound, chartered a boat for fishing, ate tons of seafood, and saw the best sunsets right from the deck. Literally took advantage of everything in this house - from crabbing to fishing to baggo to flying kites to playing board games to darts and foosball. Oh and kayaking, relaxing in the hammock, and tubing, too.

The house was beautifully restored and decorated! They provided all the amenities you would need. Very clean. Frank & Connie were very nice to send text messages with information about the house and events in the area. We will definitely stay there again.

Linda was a 10/10 host! She communicated so quickly, was so very accommodating, and gave us a wonderful stay. It felt warm- like we were staying at a family home. We will definitely be back!

From beginning to end this cottage is off the charts. Cute, unique, functiinal, confortable, well organized, thoroughly supplied and the location is private and beautiful.

We had such an amazing time here! She was quick to respond and the place was beautiful! The backyard was perfect for our toddler to play in and I really appreciated that there was a baby gate for upstairs. We will definitely be coming back!

This place was the most charming airbnb I have ever stayed in. Badria and Jay made every detail of our stay perfect with all of their extra touches, including saltwater taffy and a box of croissants, slippers and a lavender mask, and a fully stocked coffee station with syrups. We instantly felt at home and in vacation mode at their place and literally laid out on the dock the entire time. A perfect spot for kayaking, laying out in the sun, and I even brought out my mat and did some yoga on the dock. The views were unreal. The couch was so comfortable I accidentally fell asleep there the whole night and woke up to the gorgeous window views. Amazing hosts and location!

Perfect little cabin, great location. My family of four, along with our two dogs, stayed here for our Outer Banks trip. Everything was just as described and very clean. Very quiet neighborhood with only a 10 or 15 minute drive to the beach. I recommend taking advantage of the kayaks and paddle the short distance to the sandbar. The outdoor shower is a unique experience and we preferred it over the indoor shower. My teenage son enjoyed sleeping in the screened in bedroom, especially on the cooler nights when it rained. Check-in/out is simple and the host was very responsive to any inquiries we had. We highly recommend this rustic cabin.

We loved this beautiful home! Beautifully decorated-calm vibe. So cozy and comfortable. I’m also an Airbnb host and I can tell you this space is wonderful! Well worth the price point! Don’t miss out on the fire pit. Something about a fire with your family by the water…it’s truly magical. I highly recommend this place. You won’t be disappointed. Kathy is kind and accommodating. Super responsive and easy to communicate with. Can’t say enough. 10/10.

Our 3-night stay at Legacy Lodge Bunkhouse in Windsor, NC, was a delightful escape to celebrate my wife’s and son’s birthdays. The bunkhouse kept our two kids entertained with games, toys, an air hockey table, and bunk beds our son adored. Outside, a mini paradise awaited: multiple fire pits (unlimited wood for $30, highly recommended), play areas, and a covered concrete space perfect for rollerblading and scootering. We enjoyed the wood-fired pizza oven and grilled steaks, though the propane grill needs a deep clean. The thoughtful birthday gifts and decorations for our son, plus a “Honk, it’s my birthday!” sign by host Deena (explaining the passing cars’ honks), added such a warm touch. This peaceful retreat is ideal for families or anyone seeking serenity. We’d absolutely recommend it!

I stayed at the Cabin for ten days with a group of six..The place was incredible! Nice house very clean and the surroundings with plenty of entertainment provided by the host!
