Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Wealden District

We had a wonderful stay at the house, all the children loved it and the various higgledy piggledy stairs and rooms made it extra exciting for them running around. The tennis courts were used a lot and we spent many hours playing in the garden - it’s enormous! The pool was good, and the sauna was perfect for warming up afterwards! The whole house was clean, felt very homey and had everything we needed - Overall a brilliant holiday - thank you very much Sophie and the team!

We had a very comfortable 3 night stay. The place was very clean & tidy. The outside area was spacious & useful area to play with our dog. It was secure for dogs as long as front gate was closed which it almost always was. It was a good base to explore the local area. Thank you

We really enjoyed our stay. The property was lovely and light, in a beautiful area, which was quiet and very peaceful. We slept well in the extremely comfortable beds. The garden was much larger than we expected (photos don’t really do it justice), it was very secure for young children. We thoroughly enjoyed the forest walk from the cottage. It’s a shame pets aren’t allowed, as we would love to return with our small dog. We did have to drive to shops for groceries, but that wasn’t really a problem. All-in-all, a perfect setting for a restful break. Highly recommend.

Well, it turns out that Heaven really is a place on Earth! What a wonderful property. I was tempted to run away with the key so no one else can get in but me! Add to that The Most Comfortable Mattress On Earth (TM), and it was actually quite hard to go out and get anything done! I'm definitely coming back here. Frankly, I may put in an offer to buy it! Utterly wonderful break. Sandra is so friendly, responsive and easy to deal with. The whole thing was quite appallingly perfect.

Emily and Daniel were brilliant hosts and very easy to communicate with. Their home is beautiful and it was spotlessly clean too. Their pool area is stunning so if you get the weather it’s a really lovely space to enjoy. I would recommend this to anyone looking to spend time in this area, just be aware that the pool area is shared with their home. We were staying as did the Seven Sisters hike one day (40mins drive away). Thank you again for a lovely stay.

We enjoyed our stay immensely. Weather was cool so we didn’t spend time in the beautiful garden but the azaleas bloomed and we enjoyed them from the lounge. Fiona left all kinds of delicious treats and a bottle of prosecco for us. The house was well situated for Monk’s House, Charleston Farm, Great Dixter, Standen House and Batemans. Supermarkets are nearby as are many good restaurants.

Very clean and peaceful environment. We were arriving very late and Jenny made sure lights were left on to help us find the way; it couldn’t have been easier. Very helpful and considerate hosts.

We enjoyed a two week stay at The Getaway and found it very comfortable and very well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Joy was a very friendly host offering help and advice on the local area when we enquired. She has an amazing garden which she kindly allows guests to make use of and is also dog friendly. The Getaway also has its own exclusive patio area for guests to use. We look forward to return visits in the future. Thank you Joy.

The perfect place to stay. Had everything we needed and feels very homely.

Joanne was so welcoming on our arrival and had the hot tub heated up ready for us to use. Everything you could think of was there for us to use. Unfortunately we had a very busy weekend planned and wished we could have spent more time at the location. We have our next visit booked already and can't wait to use this accommodation another time, spending more time chatting with Joanne and hopefully getting to see more wildlife in the garden.

Benny was really great with communication as I booked very last minute! She also kindly let me check in much earlier and I also checked out a little later due to my own fault of not realising checkout was at 10am! The place is spotless and is well equipped, there were breakfast items left which was thoughtful and generous of Benny. The location is beautiful and peaceful - lots of cute lambs and ponies and even deer! A short drive takes you into forest row where you have a good selection of shops

I couldnt have asked for a better host. Super friendly, super helpful and very kind. Diedre and Vic were there for everything i needed down to the milk for my tea! Very friendly, very helpful would reccomend. Space is small but homely, thank you for your hosting!

Great spot, very close to the Seven Sisters and Eastbourne front.

Ideally placed for St Leonards and close to St Leonards Warrior Square station for trains elsewhere. Spacious studio, fully equipped, with helpful host.

Airbnb was made for this beautiful place! The place was clean, had everything we could have needed and beautifully decorated. Our host was really helpful, responsive and left us with a little welcome fruit and biscuit bowl. I would 100% recommend this place and will be back.

Our first Airbnb, it was AMAZING. Sadly only able to stay for two nights. The accommodation was perfect in every way. We didn’t require any of the facilities other than two mugs, a kettle, a bed, and a bathroom as we were in the area to visit relatives for a function, however, there was everything supplied that could possibly be needed for a long holiday. The bedding, and everything else, was spotless. Not a speck of dust anywhere, beautiful white towels. Could not find a single fault at all, and I’m not an easy person to please! Such a peaceful area. We had a great stay. Steven was very responsive to our questions. His place is as described and would definitely stay again.

We came for only a night but could have easily stayed longer. Beautiful location and immaculate home. We loved the view over the garden while having our morning coffee. Local pub- Blackboys Inn, is very good. A short drive, which we did due to weather, or a 30 min walk. Highly recommend this property.

This is an absolute gem of a place and location, with views right across the Darent Valley. I only wish we could have stayed longer! The place was spotless and everything had been perfectly prepared and very well thought through (from the local hand-drawn maps right down to the vast array of toiletries on offer). I can't think of a single thing to change or improve about the place. Diana was a lovely host and provided a lot of information prior to arrival. She had also found some suggestions of activities for us tailored to our interests, which was frankly above and beyond. We were very grateful and it was clear a lot of thought had been put in prior to our arrival. I could carry on for pages but in summary, we have already recommend the place to family and friends and we be pleased to offer our recommendation here too. Thank you, Diana, for such a lovely place to stay and we hope to be back soon!

We went with my family - two kids and our dog - and we loved it! A clean and welcoming flat, beautifully located in Willingdon next to the lovely Red Lion pub (nice food and garden). 10’ ride from the centre of Eastbourne. Jon was very friendly and responsive! I recommend it for a nice family long weekend escape from the Lindon hustle and bustle!

David was a superb host, providing detailed recommendations alongside clear instructions to locate the property. The location of the property is unbeatable. Just a short 20 second walk from the front door of the property and you're on the private beach! My morning cup of coffee never felt so relaxing. Woke up early to catch the sunrise which was a fantastic view! Just what I needed... a peaceful few days away from the hustle and bustle of normality. Thanks for a great stay, David!
