The Bull Pen

JulieRating, 5 stars2 days ago
The Bull Pen is a wonderful place to stay and soak up a calm, and relaxing environment! The moment we walked in we could see the love and care that has gone into making The Bull Pen warm and welcoming! Thankyou Simon and Millie for welcoming us and our family, you are the perfect hosts! Just to say the beds were really comfy and we all slept well. The views from the picture window across the lake were beautiful, kingfishers were spotted amongst other wildlife. Plenty of walks to explore and we can recommend a visit to The Anchor Pub along side the river where you can hire boats! Fabulous! We have booked to come back in August!

Rural vaulted barn with tennis court

AlasdairRating, 5 stars1 week ago
First, I’d just like to say, Sue, your host, is a wonderful person and a great host - kind, friendly, practical, and very hospitable. My stay at Marklye Stables was truly a memorable one. Personally, I loved the feeling of having so much private space to myself in such a lovely, picturesque, rural setting. It gave me the necessary sense of freedom to be able to relax completely. There are plenty of walks, directly from the Stables, following good pathways through the local woods and across the meadows. Walking on the South Downs is just a short car drive away. Sue is an ardent rambler herself and familiar with most walks, both near and farther afield. The town of Heathfield is just less than a mile’s walk away along the pathway of the disused railway line. I will definitely return.

Heavenly Waterside Sussex Barn

KemiRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had a beautiful stay at The Tack Barn. The space was even better than the photos — bright, peaceful, and tastefully designed with lovely little touches throughout. It felt private and secluded, but close enough to explore Lewes, the South Downs, and some countryside. Corina was a really thoughtful host — responsive, kind, and helpful from start to finish. The house was spotless, well-equipped (especially the kitchen), and the bed was comfortable. Waking up to the sound of birds, visits from the chickens, and the view of the lake was exactly the reset we needed. Would absolutely recommend this stay to couples looking for a quiet, restorative getaway with a bit of style and comfort. We'd love to return.

This is a fantastic property, very spacious and has a very handy path to the local village through the fields. Sue was great with check-in instructions and provided tea and coffee, which was a lovely touch. I would highly recommend staying here and would come again !

A really peaceful haven. Lovely big space, though as we had great weather we spent a lot of time sitting on the patio looking over the beautiful garden and the wildlife. Fiona was an excellent host. Would be nice to come back!

Cute overnight stay felt secluded and private. Lots of thought has gone into the provisions and lovely being able to cook a hot breakfast! Great location for visiting Lewes and also the South Downs. Emma was there for help if needed .
