We came to Casa 40th looking for a place to work, rest, and cook, and it truly exceeded our expectations. This amazing space, with its music theme and use of local materials, feels like a home away from home. Its location is perfect—close to Óbidos, Caldas, and the beach. Casa 40th is exceptionally quiet at night, and the rooms are cozy with heaters and plenty of blankets. The strong, hot water flow was a bonus for our stay. Joao, the proud local owner, is always available and incredibly helpful, making the experience even more special. His unique home reflects his passion and care. The big kitchen, BBQ area, parking space for two cars, and the outdoor space added to the convenience and comfort. My family was delighted with everything about Casa 40th. Highly recommended! We will be back!

We and our three kids spent a fortnight over Easter at Klemens' lovely house. It was was easy to find - a keycode for the door meant we could arrive late without worrying about meeting a local agent. The house was exactly as described - easy parking for our VW van outside and a lovely quiet location. Both house and garden were spotless and entirely matched the description. Gardeners arrived part way through our stay to do the lawn, and cleaners visited halfway through to clean floors and replace linen. The house was a very good size for the five of us, and with a bathroom per bedroom we didn't have queues in the mornings! The garden was lovely and peaceful, the kids enjoyed the pool, which is larger than many around that area - it is more than just a plunge pool, short lengths were perfectly possible. Obidos is a short drive for supermarket and great restaurants, plus the restaurant on the lagoon is five minutes away and AMAZING. We will definitely be visiting again.

The swimming pool terrace is very nice with a great view to the valley. The host was very responsive to any questions we had.
