Holiday rentals with a kayak in Transylvania County

We really enjoyed our first trip to Lake Toxaway. Claudia was a great hostess. She provided resources so we could book activities and meals in advance. The house was spotless, comfortable and well maintained. The kitchen had everything we needed. Claudia responded to inquiries quickly and was very helpful whenever we had questions. Highly recommend!

We stayed at Lonnie’s place to celebrate our daughter’s 21st birthday. We are a family of 6, with teenagers of different ages. Lonnie’s place was clean, homey and felt like home. Great restaurants in the area - about 15 min drive in any direction. Place was a bit harder to find at night, but provided directions were perfect and we did not have any trouble at all. Grocery store is a short drive, made our life easier. The location is beautiful - the view of the lake is magical and surrounding area feels very safe. We used the house as a base for hiking trips -big variety of options 10 months or 40 min away. In 4 days we feel we just scratched the surface. Also close to kayaking, tubing and other water sports. Tv downstairs was easy to operate and wifi signal was great - I was able to log into zoom calls for work. Inside the house, the supplies in the kitchen are great: plenty of plates, glasses, cups and cutlery. Also many spices and condiments. Thank you - it was a great time!

At Greg's place we really enjoyed the location, house, surroundings, sauna, fire pit, lake, and all the local attractions in Brevard. Great place for fishing trip as well. Would like to stay again in the summer time to fully enjoy the lake and kayaks. Greg was very responsive. The 3 ring binder with instructions, local attractions, etc was very thorough and of great help.

Our stay in Sapphire was incredible, all because of the home and the homeowners' attention to detail! The house was not only beautifully situated on the Horseshoe River but was one of the most well-stocked homes we've ever rented. The house in Sapphire provided beautiful views, access to stunning hikes and local towns to tour. We brought our fly rods and spent may days hiking up and down the stairs, and there are a lot, but it is entirely worth the walk down and climb up, to spend time on the deck ideally situated on the river, allowing access to wade in and enjoy the water or fish. Additionally, the homeowners created a comprehensive reference book containing detailed information on hikes, waterfalls, national forest recommendations, and much more. We could not have picked a better home to spend the week! Thank you Zeb and Tara!

The house was perfect for a large party. We arrived with 5 adults and 6 children. Everyone had a space, and everyone was comfortable. We spent 85% of our time on the screened in porch. It was perfect other than some of the furniture was not exactly comfortable. Everything is there for a large party. The kids especially LOVED all of the stuffed animals in the bunk room. There were toys, games and books for the kids, and I truly appreciated that. The views are stunning! We are already planning our visit next year! Thank you for being a great host. Lauri McKell

This was one of the nicest AirBNBs we have ever stayed in! The house was just as beautiful in person as described. The colors and decor were calm and relaxing. The master bedroom was a great size with a big walk in closet. The master bath was gorgeous! Marble, gold fixtures, and full glass shower. The floors are heated and there is a heat fan in the ceiling. No fog mirrors and a towel warmer. The two bedrooms downstairs are also a great size. The ensuite downstairs has heated floors as well. The third bathroom is right outside the third bedroom. There is another living room downstairs with large sectional. The hot tub is off the lower deck and was delightful. There is a basket of towels beside the door going out. We enjoyed the gas fireplace upstairs and the large sectional for football watching. We also enjoyed the large table for family meals and games! The kitchen had top end appliances and was well stocked. There are many high end amenities including automatic blinds!

This place is a great location , stocked well and can walk to everything in town . Communicate great . We were in town for a wedding at Village on Green -so easy to get to everything.

This is my second time at Calvin's place. I loved it just as much as the first! Always clean, always comfortable, and always with thoughtful touches and clear communication. Thank you for having us again!

This is the most serene comfortable home we have ever had the pleasure to visit. It is very private, beautifully appointed, and has every convenience you need or could wish for. It is situated right in the middle of quiet nature setting on a small lake with all kinds of birds, fish, turtles and other of Gods beautiful creatures. The host was easy to communicate with and very responsive. We plan to go back hopefully for a longer stay next time. We happened to be in Cashiers to attend a funeral. When we arrived there were fresh flowers and a personal condolence card sitting on the kitchen counter. Such a thoughtful gesture. Definitely recommend and we are going back! Oh and the beds are super comfortable which means a lot to us!!!

The Cottage at Lake Lure provided unmatched views and a relaxed and peaceful retreat. Outdoor spaces are beautiful but unfortunately the boat house that was present at the time of booking had been taken down by the time of our stay, reducing the ability to be on the lake. Access to paddleboards and kayaks a plus and the ability to rent a pontoon was a wonderful bonus. Wifi access was spotty and phone service challenging - this provided some challenges to individuals who planned to work a remote day from the booking. Overall a great stay with fire pit, grill, time on the water, and gorgeous scenery.

Truly a marvel. We were looking for a quiet mountain hideaway and found it. It had everything we could ask for from kayaks, canoeing, fishing campfire even a s'more stick. Cozy enough for my family and I and close to all the Waterfalls. I am very happy with this place and would be happy to stay again.

What can I say about this beautiful property that hasn't been said already...? WOWWW is good for starters. Like heaven on earth. I hope too many people dont find out about this amazing property because we want to come back LOL. Even nicer than the pictures! And Kurt is a GREAT Host ! We will be back thank you Kurt !!!

We had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful. A peaceful and relaxing location while close to things to do. The house had everything we needed and more. Lake Keowee is beautiful. We’ll be back!

This was the perfect location for our celebration of my mountain biking husband’s 50’th birthday. While the guys were biking the rest of our crew hiked the private trails at Conastee Falls within the neighborhood and paddle boarded and kayaked on Ticoa Lake. The house is located right on the lake, and adjacent to the boat launch and dock with a ladder, which was very convenient. The home has its own dock with kayaks and paddle boards to use. We did not use the Pedal pontoon. (It is noted in the description but for water access you need to be able to walk a good may steps down to the water from the house or drive down to the Ticoa Lake access one space over if it is too steep fo you to descend and ascend the stairs. We brought our dog with us and Jenni’s home accommodated her so well, with a large crate and dog toys and feeding bowls. The lower deck has the ability to fence in a space for pets while you relax in the hot tub or sit on the deck. The home had everything we needed.

The property was beautiful! The lodge was just as big and spacious as the pictures showed. Everyone had their own space and even when we were all in the living room at the same time, it didn't feel too loud or too crowded. It rained almost the entire time we were there, but they provided free firewood and smores supplies and we had such a nice relaxing weekend spending time with family.

We had an absolutely fantastic time. The communication with Martha was smooth and prompt. We made some last minute adjustments, bringing our dog and grandparents and Martha communicated quickly back. Upon arrival, the space was clean and comfortable. The home is well appointed and you can easily stay in and cook for the entire family if desired. The amenities for the neighborhood were top-notch, we enjoyed the pool, gym, hiking, and golf. We especially enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards available through the rental. The location was perfect, with easy drives to downtown Brevard as well as Cedar mountain. We enjoyed exploring the area and found plenty of great dining and shopping options nearby. Overall, our experience was five stars. We cannot recommend Martha and their property highly enough. Thank you for such a memorable stay—we will definitely be back!

This place has a great area for dogs to run around and 15-20 minutes from anything you forgot. A stove would be nice but there is a grill so you can cook out.

Everything was wonderful! Beautiful location, great hosts and SO much to do. The cabin looked just like the photos and it was perfect for our large group! Can’t wait to come back!!

The home was beautiful and everything was updated and modern. Loved the lake view, lots of windows and light, comfortable beds, and plenty of space for everyone. Internet and WiFi worked great. Love this area so much, very family and dog friendly. Hope to stay here again!

Hosts were great at communicating and provided some great recommendations in the binder for the cabin. Cabin had everything we needed to cook all of our meals for our family of seven. Cabin afforded lots of space to spread out and offered some scenic views of the surrounding forests.

This home was in great condition and very well stocked with everything you could need. We spent our days canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding on Hogback Lake. The location is quiet and beautiful, while still being close to Cashiers and area restaurants. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be back.
