Would fully recommend staying at Helen's place. The accomodation is really spacious and has everything you need, and is a good base for the local area. Helen is really responsive and is a great host.

What a nice place to stay, The Windy Nook Chalet was spacious, had everything we needed, a view out over the fields, outdoor space, and didnt feel like anyone was around us, cant have asked for more, brilliant.

Karen & John offer a beautifully presented apartment and made me feel at home immediately. They invited me to use the front garden and I sat out in the evening, it's very quiet and I enjoyed watching the bats. Inside, it's very clean, with a modern bathroom, and the well equipped kitchen meant I could save money on eating out. The location is excellent - a short scenic drive to Ullswater where I had my breakfast one morning. Then it's a quick loop past Dalemain House to Rheged, near Penrith, where I was doing a course. It's a super base for exploring Ullswater, Aira Falls and Penrith. They know the area very well and had lots of suggestions, including suggesting a local puppet theatre as they'd seen my interests in my profile - they really are super hosts!

We had a fantastic week in the Lakes staying at the bothy. John and Julia are warm, friendly and thoughtful hosts and the space was perfect (and more spacious than the photos suggest). The bothy was well appointed with everything we needed and the beautiful cottage garden was an added bonus - secure for our dog and a peaceful haven to enjoy the morning/evening sunshine. Highly recommend
