Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Sky Valley

We had a lovely stay at The Rusty Nail. The cabin was clean, cozy and had everything we needed. We were fortunate enough to even have a early morning rain that sounded wonderful on the tin roof. It was a great weekend spot for my husband and I.

We had a blast. The creek and scenery was awesome. The cabin was perfect. We even got in the creek and played some. Clayton was an awesome town as well. Highly recommend.

Great cabin super close to downtown Highlands. Looks just as great as the photos, perfectly clean, very nicely appointed and furnished. This was a much better situation for our family over a local hotel. We would definitely come back!!

Lovely, well-appointed home with beautiful Mountain views. Conveniently located to downtown Clayton. We enjoyed the “blast from the past” arcade games also. We would definitely stay again!

Usually when you stay at an Airbnb, you get what you pay for but here we got a very unexpected and never before experienced stay. Every single detail was so thoughtful and so generous, and it made our time an absolute blessing. Joan and clay are such a joy to talk with and they have gone far above and beyond any other place to make sure we had everything we could want or need. Truly felt like they were family and enjoyed our stay so so much. Will be back soon.

Wow! What a perfect place for our family of 3! The house itself is so clean and definitely well-cared for. The beds are super comfy. The house is stocked with everything you’ll need from linens to kitchen supplies. And the peaceful view from the back porches is beautiful! We enjoyed our coffee on the upper back porch that’s screened in. I would wake up and be excited to go make my cup of coffee and go sit outside and listen to the leaves, the creek water & the birds. My soul needed that! This is one of my top airbnbs and will definitely be making it my “go-to” place when us 3 come to visit family & friends. I didn’t wanna leave!

A great space to relax! Thoughtful and well-apportioned house. Modern appliances, nice aesthetic. Can tell Nick put a lot of time into creating it. Felt like a vacation house (in the best way). Had everything we needed and more. Great for couples seeking some time away from the hustle-bustle. Equally good for a small family gathering. The porch is amazing, the views spectacular. Would definitely return!

What an excellent find. At one end of the small but densely packed downtown Highlands, we were no more than a 5 min walk from all the restaurants and shops we could want. The place was private and quiet while close to everything. I would recommend it.

Don and the rental were fantastic. I can only wish that every Air BnB was done this well. Water on every table. The bathroom had everything you might have forgotten. The fridge had soda and water in it. Even had a Smores setup for the firepit outside. I will be back here regularly and Don's place will always be my first choice. Dons hospitality was world class. It is very hard to find genuine hospitality and Don hit it off the mountain.

Shannon was a great host! The property was as described and in great condition and the location was perfect. We felt right at home for our weekend getaway. The bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of extra towels and pillows. They even had some snacks waiting for us. It is obvious that they put a lot of care into making this place feel like a home. We will definitely be staying here again if we come back!

The property was conveniently located and easy to find, situated in a pleasantly rural neighborhood with minimal traffic and a welcome sense of isolation from the city. The accommodations offered a commendable level of privacy, and the room was generously spacious, more than sufficient for my needs. We had a very nice couple of days at William and Lori's place in Seneca. It was cozy and nice to have a place to come home to each day after our outings of touring waterfalls in the NW part of SC. Conveniently located to everything we needed including restaurants, the parks that we visited and grocery stores, etc.

I enjoyed staying at this quiet and peaceful place. It was neatly kept, clean, and comfortable. Dave and Barb were great, and I also enjoyed meeting Beans! Thank you for a wonderful place to stay during my trip.

This was my first time visiting the Franklin/Highlands, North Carolina area. Lisa's studio apartment is in a hollow away from the main road which provided a quiet, peaceful place to relax with absolutely no traffic noise. Patio area in front of studio alllows you a place to sit and view the mountains while listening to the birds. You might get a visit from the cats looking for a little attention. Lisa and her family were very friendly and I enjoyed talking with them about the area and some options of places I should consider visiting. The studio is in a great location being only 30 minutes away from Highlands. I would highly recommend visiting Dry Falls on the way to Highlands. The walk down is moderate and the Falls are incredible. The studio was immaculate and beautiful. It is very spacious for 1 or 2 people having a small table with two chairs, large sofa and sufficient size bed. Kitchen area is small but provides everything you need for your stay. I highly recommend it.

I really enjoyed my stay, it felt very homey. The bed is comfy, the area is peaceful and quiet. Owners are communicative. It was my first time, I would stay here again as I love visiting the Tallulah Gorge area. The cell signal is very good once arriving, there is no service on the short drive from town up the mountain.

The condo was exactly as described. It was very comfortable for our family of four. Well stocked kitchen, homey decorations. We especially loved the screen porches. Richard sent clear instructions for check in and check out. Overall, a very nice stay!

The unit was as described. The location was quiet and private. It would be perfect for two people but was, as expected, a bit tight with two adults and two teens. Thankfully ours was a short stay so it worked great. It is rather dark because it is mostly below grade so the only windows are in the bedroom. There were plenty of linens. Stacy was very responsive.

My family and I enjoyed our stay. The views from the house are incredible. It is very peaceful. The place was clean. Nina was very helpful and responsive when needed. We used the pool and hot tub, which was a short walk down the driveway. I highly recommend this place if you’re visiting the area!

Lisa went out of her way to make her condo a great 'home away from home' experience. She was very personable and it was obvious that she loved being a great host, after all, she is great at it! We don't travel a lot, so it was very important to us that this was going to be a memorable experience. It was that, and more. I won't hesitate to make a return visit.

I had a great stay at Brandon's for several days while doing some work at Clemson. It was perfect for my needs; cute, clean, nicely stocked kitchen, and peaceful. I would definitely stay there again!

We had a great stay at Jr.’s place. It’s walking distance to anywhere in the Village. If you’re outdoorsy like our group is I would recommend bringing your camping chairs if you plan on hanging on the property itself. There’s a nice grass area right out of the door we sat while we weren’t on the town. Great stay and host was very responsive to our needs.
