Waterfront holiday rentals in Scottish Borders

This flat was delightful! Attractive, light, spotlessly clean and tidy, well furnished and cosy but not cluttered. Felt like a home with personal touches. Bed fresh and comfy, kitchen v well stocked, bathroom spacious and modern. Loved the setting overlooking the Esk river and near a picturesque historic footbridge. We were here for Edinburgh but enjoyed walking Musselburgh High St with convenient and nice shops.

Wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit im Apartment. Die Bahn ist nur wenige Fußminuten entfernt. Ebenso ist auch ein Supermarkt (24/7 geöffnet) in der Nähe und von dort aus gibt es auch die Möglichkeit mit Bussen in die Stadt zu fahren. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

We had a lovely stay, the area was perfect for visiting our child at university in the city. A nice walk to the centre of the city, fantastic location right on a local bus route. Lots of cafe and shops very close by but still a quiet location. We would certainly book again. Thank you for a lovely stay

We had a very quick overnight stay at Clare’s place, but it was ideal. Lovely room and bathroom. Great amenities in the room as well as super easy check in. We would definitely stay again.

We had a great stay at Audrey's place. We stayed there for 3 months and both Audrey and Fergus have been very helpful and kind from the start. We requested an additional workstation and Audrey agreed without any hesitation and had arranged it before our arrival. The apartment has everything for a comfortable stay with lovely walks close by. There is a bus service (every 20 minutes) with a 7-minute walk which takes you straight to the Edinburgh city centre. Would highly recommend the apartment to anyone looking for a peaceful and cosy stay without the hassle of the city. Thank you, Audrey and Fergus!

We chose David’s place for a relaxing and quiet break and that’s exactly what we got. Eyemouth it’s self had everything we wanted which included award winning Fish and Chips, Gelato lounge, a selection of pubs, bistros, souvenir shops, local coop leisure centre with swimming pool and even an amusement arcade with bowling alley. Everything was so close and friendly. We especially liked the wood burning fire, and the sight of the sea from a few rooms. Definitely would recommend and if in the area would stay again.

I booked this for ourselves and my sister & husband so the pressure was on me to have chosen well. Surpassed any expectations. What a stunning house! Its so spacious and had absolutely everything we would need. Loved the sliding door. A great place to relax and enjoy the garden, and fab location too for the dogs with plenty of walks on our doorstep. Of all our past holiday home experiences this is the one to beat!

We had a lovely stay at The Old Bakery. We parked around the harbour easily and everything was in a 5 min walking distance (restaurants, shop, arcade). Margaret was really responsive and helpful and friendly at check-in. The house had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. We would recommend this as a place to stay.

Super place to stay. We went as as an extended family with three kids under four. The kids had a ball...the garden is ideal and paddling down by the harbour was a great success. The smugglers' tunnell helped! The boys were excited to see a yellow hammer.. a bird i 'd never heard of !! Such a nice feel to the whole area.. must have been good as my daughters ended up doing yoga in the garden. Recommended.

Mein Mann und ich haben es bei Mary total genossen. Marys Mann hat uns willkommen geheißen, als wir ankamen und war sehr freundlich und lustig. Wenn man den Weg zum Haus hochfährt, ist das total malerisch und schön. Ihr habt ein sehr tolles Zuhause und das „kleine“ Cottage direkt daneben ist ein Traum für Gäste! Wenn wir wieder in der Gegend sind, kommen wir mehr als gerne wieder :) Es ist alles sauber und das Bett sehr gemütlich! Es war alles da, was man brauchte :)

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location with amazing views. Fantastic spot for walks starting right on the doorstep. Handy shop at Cockburnspath. Would recommend and will hopefully return.

Leadburn ist ein wundervoller Ort in der Nähe von Edinburgh. Die Ankunft war durch die gute Wegbeschreibung unkompliziert, und die etwas versteckte Lage des Hauses ist schlicht großartig. Theresa hat uns sehr nett empfangen, und in dem schönen, großzügig dimensionierten Haus mit einer auch für eine große Gruppe vollständig ausgestatteter Küche haben wir uns wirklich wohlgefühlt; für uns (4 Personen) war das Platzangebot schlicht luxuriös. Die Lage an einem kleinen Gewässer ist wunderbar, so dass man versucht ist, gar nicht erst nach Edinburgh (oder in andere Gegenden) zu fahren, sondern nur die unmittelbare Umgebung zu genießen und zu erkunden. Alles in allem eine große Empfehlung, wenn man ein paar Tage in der Nähe von Edinburgh und zugleich in einer - im positiven Sinne - abgeschiedenen Lage inmitten der Natur verbringen möchte!

View of the beach from the sumptuous living room. Fantastic location for exploring Eyemouth and beyond with restaurants and cafes on your doorstep. Loved our stay, thank you!

Heather Heugh is a wonderful place. It's a lovely holiday house in the quiet, peaceful and picturesque Cove Harbour. The house has everything you'd need for a relaxing stay. We'll definitely be visiting again.

Lovely quiet location by the canal in a nice area of Edinburgh. The apartment is very clean & spacious with all necessary facilities. We had no issues whatsoever. Would definitely return. Many thanks to Gareth & Joanne

I spent nearly four months in Wendy's accommodation. I had a great time there! The apartment itself offers great views, and the room is very comfortable. It is easily accessible by bus and has a good connection to the city centre and main University Campus, as well as being close to a big supermarket and the beach. Being on the outskirts of the city and by the sea, it made it very easy to find peace, walking along the beach or visiting my personal favourite place, Newhailes Estate. For those coming to study here: the bus connection to the University of Edinburgh's King's Buildings is not great, especially on the way back, and if you'll have to be there a lot I'd recommend getting a bicycle, which is about twice as fast. Wendy is a very friendly host, who is usually not home during the day but if you run into her and she has time she will be open for a chat - for example sharing stories or music. She loves baking, and might leave something she made in the fridge for you!
