Quinta do Bento Novo is a delightful and wonderful manor house and grounds, located at the edge of typical village overlooking beautiful countryside. Paulo was a perfect host. He could not have been more helpful before we arrived and was waiting to great us upon our arrival to gave us a tour around his family's ancestral home, which was greatly appreciated. Throughout our stay, he made himself available to answer our questions and help us get the most out of our stay. The house itself is wonderfully historic, spacious, and comfortable, with every facility one could need. The grounds are stunning and a joy to stroll around. I picked and ate my first (ever) orange straight from the tree, at Paulo's kind invitation (and it was delicious). Supermarkets and restaurants are within easy striking distance, as are any number of wonderfully historic sites to visit and the beach is close also. In short, we could not rate this property highly enough and plan to return as soon as we are able.

The place was just mega. The landlord always had an open ear for questions and also gave many tips.

Hosting was fantastic, if we had more time we would have stayed longer. Lovely place, generous and kind hosts, it was a great honor for us to stay . We received an answer to all questions and even more. Thank you so much

Getting married at the castle was a real dream come true for us . This setting and backdrop was truly incredible. It also housed our entire family with so much space and privacy for our guests . The venue was perfect and though we got unlucky with weather , it will be lifetime memories for our family. The castle is insanely spacious and unique , and fully equipped with everything we needed to cook and entertain (except maybe beach towels and some extra paper towels , very minor). The property was amazing to walk around and accessible by cabs and Ubers . It’s definitely rustic and had a few critters , but didn’t deter us . Hot water was intermittent in some bathrooms , but there were enough bathrooms to always find a hot shower . Would highly recommend for a wedding venue we would choose it again in a heartbeat .
