Smoking friendly holiday rentals in San José

A wonderful stay that's close to the airport (30 min walk). I loved staying in a more "local" neighborhood and still having the amenities of being close to a mall. Jennifer was extremely responsive throughout my stay and provided clear instructions and pictures for check in. Some things to note for future guests: the stairs leading up to the unit are very steep so be mindful if you have heavy luggage, the AC in the unit wasn't really strong enough to keep the apt cool enough for me during the hottest part of the day (this didn't bother me as I was out and about), turning on the hot water in the shower was not immediately intuitive for me so Jennifer had to give me instructions, if you need a REALLY hot shower, this might not be the place for you as after following the instructions I noticed it didn't get super hot (though the city is very hot so taking a colder shower was ok with me!) Overall a great value for a short term stay with a great host. Thank you, Jennifer!

Our stay in Daniel's apartment was wonderful, it has a beautiful view with balcony to enjoy. Super practical, clean and with all the comforts for a pleasant stay. Daniel welcomed us very warm, sharing a lot of information about places to eat or how to get from the airport. The apartment has very nice lighting and ventilation in addition to being in a very quiet neighborhood with nearby squares if you have a dog.

I really enjoyed my stay at Isaiah and Tatiana's place, it felt like home! The kitchen is well equiped. Just a 10 mins walk to the beach with a handful of restaurants along the way, a mini super for basic needs and a wonderful fruit stand nearby, their place is well located ans safe. I felt at ease leaving my motorcycle in their locked yard. The shared outside space was really comfortable and relaxing, I spent many mornings in the hamac reading or watching howler monkeys. Tatiana is a wonderful host and was very fast to reply to my messages. I would definitely stay here again!

Bernd Y Irmgard were wonderful hosts; very accomodating and easy to talk to. The apartment was exceptional and very nice. They gave me directions to the grocery store and other locations. Their hosting was outstanding and would definitely stay with them again. They are definitely 5-star airbnb hosts!!

The Eco casa Airbnb was perfect for our family. We traveled with our son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. We could easily get to and from the airport. We walked to restaurants an a Fresh Market grocery. The house was clean and well appointed. The shower and fluffy towels, and well furnished kitchen were much appreciated.

There may be places more 'beautiful' or 'shi shi foo foo', but none was/is as comfortable or safe. My dog , Regan and I felt at home. Mas x Menos Super Market is right across the street less than a 5 minute walk away. The area is good for walking. There are sidewalks. There is traffic, but by nightfall it is pretty quiet, no earplugs required. There are no neighbors close by. No howling dogs or roosters. There is public transportation in the area. The host, Jose is a dentist. He did not tell me. I found that out on my own. He and his family are gracious and available when needed. Privacy is respected. His team was great. Definitely worth a re-visit. Had there been a backyard for Regan, I would have booked long-term definitely.

Alejandra's house was exactly as shown in the pictures. Lots of space and very clean. The best part was how lovely and welcoming Alejandra's family are. They made us feel like part of the family and so comfortable to stay there. Thanks for everything!

Juan Carlos was very flexible. They stayed a group of my clients and were very happy with the stay. There was only one setback that was not in Juan Carlos's hands as a nearby pipe burst and they were without water a whole day. (This is not something that commonly happens) Juan Carlos very kind left them a few bottles of water for customers' disposal. The house is very nice, good location and as described. Thank you!

The house is excellent, it has everything you need, the place is quiet and you have many food places and supermarkets nearby and with many options. Erick is always very attentive to our needs and above all very kind. Yes, I would be back without thinking.

Very nice accommodation and excellent attention, many people comfortably fit which is a great plus. The jacuzzi and pool table were the cherry on the cake. Sergio was very friendly, responded quickly and attended to all our needs 😊

A place to rest, get out of the routine and disconnect from the hustle and bustle of the city. The host is very friendly.

Excellent location and flexible check-in time

I honestly can't say enough good things about my three month stay at Laura's San José condo. Laura and her brother, William, were wonderful throughout the whole stay, always helpful and responsive. THE CONDO: Looks just like the pictures and is very well furnished for long stays! They even had a pet bed and toys there for my pup! You'll spend lovely afternoons on the balcony watching the Pericos fly by. Condo has AC, but you hardly need it. My stay also came with weekly cleaning! THE COMMUNITY: Very welcoming. Everyone is extremely friendly. If you stay for awhile, try to get plugged into the community group chat. Avalon Country Club is a gated community with a lovely lake right behind the building and manicured gardens throughout. The elevated pool overlooks the San José valley. Right outside the gate are a vet and groomer, and a small corner store/grocery. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would rent this unit again.

Nice place. Worth the money

Everything in Costa Rica is amazing and how would Janet and her apartment not be? Very well located, large and comfortable apartment with everything you need to have a great stay, both short and long! The hostess is excellent, very friendly, if you are Brazilian like me, don't be afraid of your portunhol, she strives well to understand, as well as speak English very well. I travel a lot through Latin America and Europe and recommend 100%! Gracias, Janet!

Eduardo is a great host and very attentive. The location is simply the best and the building comes with a beautiful pool gym , sauna and steam room which was very important for me. The location is simply the best you’re in the middle of escazu , and everything is in the area. Thank you Eduardo I hope to be back soon.

Ricardo’s place is great! San Jose downtown as well as the airport are very easy to reach from his place. Communication and check-in went very smoothly.

I really enjoyed my stay in this super unique space, and Michael was great. You will love it too.
